RIP Kathy Whitworth - golf's winningest player (male or female). 88 titles.

(warning, pity party ahead. Feel free to ignore as desired.)

Welp, despite my best efforts otherwise, I'm in my yearly holiday doldrums/missing my family. I need to ****ing snap out of it though and stop feeling sorry for myself, and instead be grateful that we could at least do a zoom call earlier with all of us. I know this, but don't seem to be able. I am missing L too today, guess I haven't quite put that chapter to bed. Sigh. Artie should just take some melatonin and go bed early and just be done with this stupid effing holiday.

ok i'll try to be a little less negative. Didn't go yarn shopping yet so will go tomorrow morning. That always cheers me up. I'm making scarves for my son and his gf that i'll give them when they visit in early January, we'll have a postponed christmas then and I can get something for myself and wrap it up so I have something to open then. I've been eyeing one of those crochet bags that has storage pockets for hooks and scissors and other tools, and a big section for yarn, etc since H has so many doctor appointments, it would be nice to bring whatever crochet project I'm working on in one of those instead of a grocery bag They might even have the one I want at Joann when I go tomorrow, if not I'll buy one on Amazon.

Just went for a walk up and down my street, looking at everyone's Christmas lights... they're so pretty. It helped a little...

Are they? I hadn't heard! Dang. I guess I'll find out! There's a Michael's not far from it, and a Hobby Lobby in the general area too so I'll figure something out!

Hugs and head-nods all around as wanted/needed/appropriate.

Also, I am here to report that I am feeling better this morning. I ate a bowl of my feelings last night, then went to bed. Woke up about an hour ago and decided to book a flight for late February to go visit my sisters; at least I can spend some time with them and maybe at least visit briefly with our mom outside in her backyard if she'll allow that. We shall see. Can't go in January of course (no PTO allowed) and hoping by late February most of the ice/snow there will be done.

Glad you're feeling better today, Artie! That sounds like a good plan to visit your sisters.

Yarn shopping therapy this morning was a success!

p.s. My local JoAnn is still there, thankfully.

I would go with “fizzy bubblegum,” but with the caveat that it’s bubblegum that was chewed long ago and had been stuck under a table or chair, then retrieved and rechewed by a small child who doesn’t know better.

Stale fizzy bubblegum, in other words.

Lest anyone think I am anti-Caledonian, I also detest root beer.

I shoulda googled before i rumored! They are NOT closing.

ETA - googled my stupid ozempic. It has a half-life of FIVE freakin weeks after you stop taking it. I am on the fifth week now and sitting here watching Paternity Court with a heating pad over my poor tummy. I just want my butt back! I used to have such perfect poops! Now i wake up in the middle of the night feeling strangely enervated and THATS my signal to go?!

Wow, that's a ridiculously long half-life! When did you last take it? I hope you start feeling better soon.

I know, right? I keep trying to find out EXACTLY how it works. Like what exactly does it stimulate? Does it paralyze your intestinal cilia? Cuz it says it slows down stuff.

I guesz questions i shoulda asked before.

Ozempic upset my stomach terribly after my dose increased. I went back down to the lowest dose but I'm still hesitant to take it

I am glad you are getting that stuff out of your system exhankster. I think with a lot of big pharma stuff - the cure is worse than the disease. The list of side effects can be amazing and horrible. Of course my favorite is when they tell you that if you are allergic to X drug -then don't take it. The sad part is, there are probably some people who need to be told it while everyone else won't know if they are allergic until they take it. Crazy stuff.

There's a shortage (at least here) of diabetic shots. I haven't been able to get my Trulicity for a month now. Doctor put me on Jardiance. I have never been hit with so many side effects! I took myself off it last Friday, and I'm still having symptoms. I'm miserable.

Guess who just left on a job to El Paso again? Yep, H. I'm surprised, so close to the one he just did the other day. He won't need to spend the night anywhere this time probably, since he's getting a much earlier start today than he did on Friday. Assuming everything goes right with the pickup, of course.

So I have a nice quiet afternoon ahead of me to work without distractions! Speaking of which I better get back to it as my lunch is over

Artie I know I say this all the time but you need to start selling your products. Everyone loves a good knit. Just saw a knitted jumper for a child <5 years old selling for £90.
