I can kind of identify, because my son goes through periods when I feel so afraid to go home because I don't know what to expect - anger and potential violence. Your situation sounds so much more scary.

Had a whole therapy session about them, my nurse and my psychologist RIP think of me every time they hear about MCR

not only i couldnt for 4years. i got kicked out of two county colleges for mental health stuff.
sucks.

been thinking about all my hospitalizations recently. ive been in one every year since i was 13 except 2009 and 2010. but i was in 4 times in 2008. i do not want to think about 2012. thats one already though this march. its the end of the world you know. banking going to collapse and hitler just came up from his grave.

Please start the application process. It takes time. And if you need housing, you should apply there too. There's usually a long waiting list.

I wouldn't count on it if I were you. With our luck the world won't end. I think you should apply to SS. You need to have your own income.

My recollection is that my son started by filling out the application online. Looks like that requires you to have had a job for long enough to qualify. Have you worked before?

I don't think it requires you to buy into psychiatry. My son certainly didn't.

It requires you to have a medical history that supports the idea that you're unable to work due to a disability. It sounds like you have that.

i worked for 2 weeks when i was 17

I don't know. That whole thing confuses me. This is what I like to have case managers around for. This is their life.

My son applied online - I think. I know I pushed for him to do it. Then they sent him a letter with an appointment date. I went to that appointment, and they asked him a bunch of questions. They also sent out questionnaires to various people who know my son asking how he functions in various aspects of his life.

Then they send him a letter denying him.

Then we hired a lawyer.

Then the lawyer got the mhc to document to level of my son's disability - showing that he wouldn't be able to hold a job.

Then they changed their mind and said he was qualified.

The whole process took a year.

Luckily you don't have to choose between social security and death. If you don't want it, no one will force it on you. (Social security, I mean. Death's still not optional.)
