Mine were predominantly internal like that...the well developed people who were always talking to me...my external voices were always short fragments of sentences or just single words or sounds.

I've only had external voices a few times but mine were just fragments of sentences or words too. Stuff like "there, go!" when I'm just lying in bed. I haven't had any since I've been on medication though, so that's good.

Yup. Me too.
I am thinking every day about that session coming up.
Im afraid to talk to a stranger face to face about things.
I feel selfish, stupid, embarrassed...
but Im also tired of feeling like this too. I think thats what my motivation is right now. But I dont want to be in an office alone with someone telling them things. Oh well, Ill get over it right?

Thanks Black,
Have you ever been on Geodon before?
I heard it works really well. Bean had a bad experience thats why she is on Thorazine. The old meds work best for her but I have heard good things about it.

Im glad you got to see a doc today. Hope it gives you some relief. It works rather quickly.

Willow: I had a really bad dentist as a kid so I hate it. He was mean to me. Well, so I mostly only go if I break a tooth.... not the best policy maybe. But, I brush 2x a day and floss (sometimes obsessively....) No dentist has ever yelled at me for not caring for my teeth but maybe I've just been lucky. The destist who was mean used to scratch me with the tooth hook thingy if I didn't open my mouth wide enough, as punishment.... I was just a kid! Then my mom took me to a pediatric destist and he was very nice, but a month later he got arrested as a child molester and was in the news. I was about 10 years old. I never went to the dentist after that until I broke my tooth and I think that was in 2009.

I just took the depression quiz here on Psych Central. I KNOW I am depressed but was curious to see what the quiz said. I scored a 78. It says I'm severely depressed. It's very correct!

They tend to break due to cavities though so you'll lose more if you don't get them filled when you need to but I got like 8 or so done when I broke my tooth so it was a lot. They did one side of my mouth at a time. I hadn't been in like ten or fifteen years though at first due to money then due to anxiety.

I just googled a Mental Health place where I'm going to try to get some help from. I'd call right now but their office closed at 5 so I will call tomorrow. I'm afraid that if I'm completely honest with them about what is going on inside my head----they'll lock me up in the hospital! I can't do that. I can't tell them about having thoughts of suicide because then they'll think I'll act on those thoughts. I NEVER would but they don't know me so they won't know that.

Yes I have more going on too but the depression seems to be the worst of all of it right now. I am going to call tomorrow for sure. I've got to. Enough is enough.

Yeah suicide is dicey....supposedly they are looking for intent, a method and a time frame but some freak out if you even mention it at all. Are you looking for meds or just talk? It could take a while to get a doc so just to mention most GPs will prescribe an AD and it takes a while to kick in so the sooner the better.

Ive come close quite a few times in my life.
I have no advice about this, but if they ask about suicide, be honest and say yes but will not act on it. I think that as long as your not a danger to yourself at the moment then its just letting them know.

Nah, they are wisdom teeth so already they are weaker. My other teeth are good, thank heavens.

Am I the only one that anxiety is a pain reliever? I had a huge anxiety incident when I got home. I was in pain because I hadn't taken my pill so I could drive. Now it feels like I didn't even have anything done. I look up anxiety stops pain online but it's all about chest pain and how to stop it....

I'm thinking adrenaline. People can do crazy **** when their adrenaline is pumping. Like that grandmother who lifted a lawnmower off of her granddaughter.

EDIT: Just googled adrenaline and came across this story:

Quote:
WOMAN VS. POLAR BEAR
Adrenaline doesn't just help people lift cars. In Ivujivik, Quebec, in 2006, Lydia Angyiou wrestled a large polar bear that she saw advancing toward her son and another boy while they played hockey. Angyiou tackled the polar bear and fought it while the boys ran for help. While Angyiou suffered some wounds, the polar bear ultimately lost the fight. Angyiou sparred with it long enough that a neighbor was able to shoot the bear four times until it died.

Are they bothering you?

I wear headphones all the time to prevent voices. I don't know if that would help you, but you could try.

When that doesn't work I listen to the radio or music to block them out.

If all else fails, you could try talking back and tell them to leave you alone.

its from the name Newt from the british television show Hollyoaks.

there was a character on there named newt who had schizophrenia. his visual and auditory hallucination named Eli would call him Newtus.

That is something I would never have guessed. I love it!

Mine is from an old tv show. I used to dress like punky brewster when I was little. Then, when I grew up, people said I looked like her all grown up so....
