I think I am always going to have problems with social motivation too because I had negative symptoms all through high school when I should have been developing my social skills...
My boyfriend calls it laziness, but I was never like this until after I graduated high school. I wish I was cleaner and showered more often, but it honestly is the hardest thing to do and idk why. I take risperdal and it helps with my paranoia/delusions and hallucinations, but not motivation.

Yeah I struggle with social motivation too like keeping my plans with friends. I bail from my plans a lot which sucks, but it takes so much effort to hang with people and I just rather stay home. At least you're social online

I have a difficult time showering but i thought it was a symptom of marriage. due to not sweating (really -medical condition) it takes a long time before i have any body odor, but i do get greasy hair. I always keep it tightly pinned up for work in hopes no one will notice.
I do remember to brush my teeth because i worry about losing them.

I dont do anything socially, but i genuinely dont want to. I am not going to feel obligated to go out because i am "supposed" to. That seems silly to me.

I can get away with not showering for weeks because I don't stink thankfully. I only sweat when I have anxiety and that only happens in my armpits. I get greasy hair, but it doesn't start to look bad until I haven't washed it in a month. Most people would never guess I had an issue with lack of showering since I like to dress nicely. I buy all my clothes on clearance from fancy stores. I have been brushing my teeth more often, but it's really hard. I did brush them today though so that's good.

My boyfriend wants me to be social since he worries about me. Sometimes I really enjoy seeing my friends and other times it gives me stress.

I am never sure how to differentiate between lack of motivation, and just genuinely choosing not to do some things. Like being social. Most people would say thats abnormal, but i really just dont want to. And yes most people shower more often, but i dont stink, i am hygienic in the how to put it, bathroom area, and i would clean it off if i got mud or something spilled on me. I am also very careful about handwashing and gloves or barriers at work. So why do i need to shower more often if i dont want to? What is motivation and what is personal preference? Dont i get to choose?

As long as you're clean it doesn't really matter imo. I need to shower more often because I get flakes in my hair if I haven't showered in a long time.

Thanks, that has always been my thought too. Sometimes i do take an epsom salt and bubble bath for fun, but i do have to sit on a towel because the tub hurts my tail bone. Th epsom salts are good for me though.

When my boyfriend and I get our own place I plan on taking relaxing bubble baths. I don't do it at our new place because our landlord uses the shower too and his girlfriend so too many cooties for me.

We only have one bathroom in our apt. So that's one shower and tub to share with my 3 kids, the 2 cats, and my dog! Lotsa cooties! But because I am a clean freak I scrub it out daily.

Your cat is so pretty! My cat doesn't live with me and lives with a relative of my boyfriend's. When we get our own house in the distant future we can have her live with us again.

Thanks! Fat Louie is my oldest daughter's favorite cat. She weighed him earlier tonight and he weighed 17 pounds! He is a mess!

I know you'll be so glad to have your cat back.

Me too and I never had my own apartment before. It's 450 square feet so it's kind of small, but it means that utilities will be cheap (I'm assuming) which will be good.

My boyfriend's cousin has a obese cat and he is the cutest animal ever. My cat is rather small since I got her from a really bad place and she had worms until I treated her. She has a vet appointment to go to as a check up, but I'm saving my money for it so she can't go yet.

Yes the utilities should be cheaper in a smaller place. I'm hoping to move some time around the end of this summer. My kids will all be moving so I want a very tiny apt for Daisy and I. I'd like a studio apt which is the smallest. Some new ones are being built up the street from where I work. Once they finish building them I'm going to go check them out. I just hope they won't be too expensive since they'll be brand new.
Thanks for this!

I'm not sure where you live but do you have Petsmart stores in your area?
If so, inside Petsmart is a vet called Banfield. They have awesome wellness plans for cats and dogs. You pay a certain fee every month. Like for my dog Daisy I pay $32.95 every month. That covers all shots, check ups, deworming, and dental cleaning every 6 months. Free office visits each time plus a ten percent discount on any medications from the vet. There's some other stuff it covers too but right now I can't remember it all. Paying monthly is easier for me. This way I don't have to hand over a large lump sum each time Daisy goes to the vet.

It would be very cool to have a brand new apt where no one has ever lived....no cooties! Lol!
