Psychiatrist appointment today..

I'll tell him about my hypersomnia although I don't think he will do anything so I'm just gonna go to the drug store and get ephedrine and caffeine pills myself because my mom says that it's "speed".

I really want to switch to Adderall but I'm not even going to mention it because of it's reputation.

It's weird how when I stop the Abilify for a few days, I seem to go completely nuts. I thought it was supposed to build up in the system ...

It's got a 72 hour half life but the minute you stop taking it the pills that went in 3 days ago start disappearing so you are tapering immediately as with any drug....so the only time it builds is when you start taking it and not when you stop.

I take it Abilify works well for you?

It's starting to look quite likely that I'll be going on APs again in the next couple of weeks & I was thinking of giving that a go this time around.

I was on Olanzapine for a bit & then Amisulpride last time.
Thanks for this!

Abilify worked for me for a good while and I didn't have any side effects, just thought I'd share that.

im sure u know all of this already though. obviously what u are doing isn't working like u want it to.

also throwing up ur food is soooooo bad for u. trust me. i suffer from the consequences of doing that still. and they wont go away. i have permanent symptoms from purging.
Ugh, same here. I have permanently damaged my body because of having an eating disorder in the past. I've been recovered for years now, but the damage is still there.

I didn't gain weight while purging but I didn't lose much either. Not recommended, it will totally screw you up physically. I can't eat certain foods anymore because my stomach is so sensitive now.

I used to have anorexic tendencies but I also purged if I thought I'd eaten too much. I still have problems with eating in the way I can't diet because I slip back into old habits but thankfully I don't think I have any physical problems because of it.

Yeah it is interesting. There's a lot of similarities with those who post here like how most of us are female.

Or how a lot of us is from the Midwest or the south. Then those who are from the UK. I wonder if this website has a targeted demographic or if females in their 20's with some sort of psychotic disorder are more likely to seek online support for their illness.

im in a crisis with my whole family right now. has to do with my mom drunk calling me at night and my sister (who lives in a diff state) and *****ing about her to me and stuff and to her on on the phone. its a big crisis right now and its stressing me out because ive become the middleman in this. like my mom calls ME to b_itch about my sister. and she calls to b_itch when shes DRUNK. my sister is moving here in a month and in the past few days its all gotten worse m. and she has expressed to me that she doesnt want to live with my mom while shes down here. so IM still the middleman in all this and having to make a room open in the house for my sister to sleep in. no problem there. just everything is so stressful right now. hopefully everyone can send some good thoughts or prayers my way.

I think its an illness thing----people who are too sick aren't on here seeking help. Women have a better prognosis and people earlier in the illness are often more med responsive as well thus the people capable of coming on here are possibly better off? As far as the demographic---I'm not sure----I know chicago has early intervention psych programs so that helps with less severe illness as does England but I can't explain Texas except that it's freakin big....
