I think that's the end of a sentence from the page before. I think it read "patient wants to be discharged."

I'm the exact same, if I think some of their comments are outlandish I will laugh and I will disagree, I'd never be rude or be verbally abusive like cussing them out. Never done that. That's why I find that section on my file so funny. It's just ridiculous!

The funniest entry I have read in my records was: patient eloped.

I'm direct and try my best to be very nice about it. I don't use cuss words and attack one's character. I guess the person who wrote that note thought the laughing was rude.

A lot of clinicians see themselves as gods since society has given them that privilege. Anytime one challenges those 'expert opinions' they risk being labeled combative, non-compliant, difficult and possibly personality disordered.

Haha I like that one, the word 'absconded' is written a record number of times throughout my file. I mean if it's supposed to be a locked ward then have a door that actually locks! They didn't like that. haha it's funny looking back on it now, wasn't much fun at the time.

When I was delusional about a microchip being in my head I was trying to explain the details of it, how it would work, how gangstalking works, to my pdoc he actually said ''as a scientist I find this offensive''... like how up your own hole can you be to say something like that to someone who's clearly having an issue with what's real. They can be dickheads but they're not the worst doctors I have had.

I'm very depressed. It's one of the comorbidities of schizophrenia. I can't take an SSRI either, nor Wellbutrin. I just have to learn how to cope with it. I feel as though I could cry at any moment. I never use to be like this before my illness. I would stay up reading Aristotle or Shakespeare. Now, I have to distract myself with multiple things at once in order to not look at that light within that use to shine so brightly.

You know what didn't help my mood? My dear friend let me borrow the DSM IV. Do yourself a favor and don't read it. The statistics in it are brutal. **** them. I won't be a damn statistic. Screw schizophrenia. People aren't their disorders.

i agree with this.

the DSM is highly triggering for me.

you shouldve seen what i did with it after i bought.
a lot of people here remember the pics i posted of that.

i cut the DSM up and hung it in a tree. for my personal art.
its been there for maybe 4-5 years.
it has seen and experienced everything from this winters blizzard to severe thunderstorms to our extreme droughts.

The unit I was on was open. The doors were not capable of being locked. Movement was restricted until 4:30 pm. This was a problem if you wanted to get a decent cup of coffee in the morning. There was a nursing station at the entrance and a conspicuous black and yellow striped line on the floor that patients were not allowed to cross. Patients, who were allowed to wear their street clothes usually, walked off the unit when staff were not looking or around 10 am when the team held their daily meetings. Patients in blue gowns had a harder time.

some things people dont know about the DSM is that not only is there diagnostic pages in it - theres also statistics yes - and theres case studies in there. what got me the most was there was a "diagnosing tree" in the back. theres a tree in the back that says "is psychotic? goto next box". "is experiencing mood symptoms? yes or no? goto box that correlates with said diagnosis". it does that for every diagnosis!!!

I'm increasing from 50 to 200 mgs of Seroquel tonight.
Doc also switched around my Zyprexa. Instead of taking 20 mgs at night I'll be taking 10 in the AM and 10 in the PM.
Hopefully I'm not drooling on myself in the morning.

Maybe you could try some therapy to help with the thinking patterns that contribute to depression. I find it helps me.

The DSM is the most pessimistic publication I have ever read. It strips people of their humanity and puts them in black and white categories. Humans are dynamic beings who rarely fit nicely into categories. Doctors should know this. Most have undergraduate degrees in science.
The grey area is very evident in the sciences. E.g. Stars (brown dwarfs to blue giants) The Hertzsprung-Russell diagram shows this.

What's everyone's favorite "gummy" candy flavors? Mine right now are the red and yellow ones.

I like the sour worms....they are usually pink and blue striped...I like to take them camping with me so I have the rustic feel of worms without the grossness, that and they are tasty....
