i have to wait 30-45 min to see my pdoc too. im sick of waiting 30-45 min for someone who just fits as many clients into a timeframe to make as much money as they can. its just a money mill where i go. and the pdocs leave for good after 6 months so i have a new one 2x a year. sometimes every year.

I'm sorry to hear that, that's completely unacceptable really... surprising considering their appointments are generally only 15 minutes long right? You wouldn't think they'd be running that late...

The longest I've had to wait for an appointment is probably around 15-20mins... usually it's on time or at most 5 minutes of waiting.

Talking of appointments, I'm just off to a Genius Bar appointment at the Apple store... my iPhone isn't charging properly. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it up somehow.

Yup they did! It was quite a simple fix, turns out there was just dirt in the charging port so after a quick clean it's back working properly again!

Have you been seen now?

im now seeing mine every 3 months this new pdoc. but i was seeing the NP every month. im saying a week without meds is a big deal. if i cant get my meds for another week im SOL. but even still the way my clinic works im still having to wait 30 min or so even on the first appt of the day. im just at a money mill but i have no other choice. ive been to only one other pdoc in my town that is private. they let me go because they said i needed more help than they could give me. they referred me for a caseworker. never got it.

anyway. i could go on.

Why would you run out of meds----my appointments are 6 months apart so they give me 7 months of meds just in case---do they give you just the bare minimum of meds? IDK maybe it's different because you're on xanax?

That seems really dangerous what if the doctor can't see you do to vacation or holidays or something? I've always gotten at least a month of extra meds.....

That's good! Yes, I'm back at my apartment now. I see now why it took so long, he spent at least 45 minutes with me. He wants me to increase the Abilify, maybe next month. And I'm not sure what else. Anyway, I'm just glad to be gone from there. Although I have to see him again November 12th, and the therapist next week. I hope I don't have a running situation of 3 or 4 appointments a month every month.

Or you could ask the pharmacy for an 8 day emergency supply. Idk if it's different in the US but I was given 8 days of a supply cuz I ran out of Concerta.

thats what I mean. this clinic i goto is just like a money mill. i take whatever appt they give me. i always have to end up having to go in the middle of the afternoon on an odd day. it changes all the time. its the same with therapy and my therapist is out A LOT. theyve canceled on me a few times before. then i go 2-3 weeks without seeing the therapist.

i really wish i could get off meds...but thats not happening anytime soon.

It's hard to say, I can understand why they might be hesitant with the Xanax but I'm sure they'd give you a supply of APs at least...

As with Tweaky, I got an emergency 7 day supply from my pharmacist when my prescription got f'd up. Since they had records of me getting it before they were perfectly happy to do that.

Concerta is a stimulant so it would be quite highly regulated just like xanax. If Tweaky was able to get that as an emergency supply you should be able to get yours too. I know it doesn't apply to you now but it would be worth finding out just in case you ended up in that position.

It's variable across the US I know they can't do that in my state but they will call your doctor directly and make sure you can continue.....

Treatment team: Stop abusing it!
Me: It's not like I'm abusing benzos.
Psychologist: It's worse than benzos.
Me: How?
Psychologist: It's a schedule 3 controlled stimulant.
Me: So it's safer than marijuana because that's at schedule 2?

Schedule 1 is prescription pain killers, cocaine, meth, heroin, etc..
Marijuana is schedule 2 from schedule 1
Now methylphenidye is schedule 3 as it's not listed as amphetamine salts on schedule 1
Benzos like Xanax and "roofies" are schedule 4

Slowly making progress but Canada is a bit slow..

Hey Tweaky, as you know those schedules of drug classification should be ignored as they're ridiculous and a product of "the war on drugs".

I'm not sure if you've heard of him but you should check out Prof David Nutt's harm index. He was the chief drugs advisor to the British government and was sacked when he came out and said alcohol was more dangerous than heroin. His research is all backed by SCIENCE. He's a legend, you should check out his work.
