I was watching Crimson Peak earlier and a part of me feels strong enough to handle being spoiled a little, but at the same time I am scared I'll trigger myself and I'll be too scared to sleep for weeks.

I didn't get to reply to SP before the new roll call started.

I don't prefer to take a lot of meds if I can help it. I don't know if I'd like to take metformin to reduce the high prolactin. But I will consider it.
I have done some research on clozaril and I'm not too crazy about it, I don't think I'll take it. But I do like Stelazine so I may just take that. I haven't had any side effects from it. But since Stelazine is a really old typical AP I do worry about tardive dsykensia.

It's a check in thread......in this case for people with schizophrenia and psychosis, a lot of the forums have similar threads.

My therapist gave me a DBT checklist to do and I feel like it will show how unstable I really am. The therapist seemed less timid and had a game plan so I felt better about therapy. I'm trying to get more organized for uni and make a good comeback; my last grade for one class was a 99 and the other class was a 40 so I'm all over the place test wise.

I like CBT so far, working on changing thoughts and recognize abnormal ones.

I do, too! Mind over matter, kind of thing. But my mood swings too much it's still hard to control.

My last therapist did CBT and I liked it. I felt like there was progression. I preferred that to the basic talk therapy I have now.

I find CBT helpful. The goal focused and structured aspects of it feel like you're going somewhere. Talk therapy never worked for me because it never went anywhere.

I have talk therapy and it goes on and on. My t decided to incorporate CBT and feel like its more helpful and when I get better at it then I could apply it to every day life. Hopefully, fingers crossed!

I find CBT very effective.

I'm currently working on cognitive restructuring.

It's just a spot to check in, you can post whatever you like really (as long as it follows the sites guidelines of course)

The great thing about cbt is you can learn the bulk of the techniques in 6 months of weekly sessions and Then you just need monthly maintenance after that.

That sounds very doable to me. I go weekly and can't imagine going monthly. That would be awesome! I admit I can do without therapy but I need the tools to work things out, first.

Well you get to a point where maybe you have some of the techniques written down and you carry index cards with you in case you need to use a technique then you just starting doing the stuff automatically but the maintenance keeps its fresh in case you forget stuff. It's a much more immediate relief than traditional talk therapy.

I was a mess when I was going to CBT. It was between my 1st and 2nd hospitalizations I went for about 6 months but I don't remember much about that time period. I was delusional at the time but I was only being treated for bipolar. It was an ugly time I'm glad to have forgotten. I think trying it again would be beneficial though.

Yeah it really depends on the cbt you get, mine was specific for psychosis so it was fine even right out of the hospital it really helped me sort things.....hopefully you can find a good cbt T....
