Insight is hard. I'm more aware of things than I ever have been but **** it sucks. It's hard for me to ever feel like I can trust my own thoughts again.

Hey guys, sorry to those who are struggling
I'm off away for the weekend with some girl friends. I'm nervous about it but quite excited too. I haven't had friends in years so it feels like to be accepted by people.
Most of them don't know about my mental health problems so I'm worried in case they see my arms, but also feel maybe I should just be honest with people. I don't know I'm going backwards and forwards with it. I also have to be careful how much I drink cos the meds I'm on get me smashed ridiculously fast. I'm considering not taking them over the weekend as I worry about it interacting with the alcohol. Do you guys know if you can take olanzapine when youv been drinking?

Good morning/afternoon/evening to everyone.

I had nightmares all night. Starting a couple of days ago, I wake up at 6am on the dot. Go back to sleep. Wake up at 7. Go back to sleep. Wake up at 8. And so on. It's irritating. Every time I fell back asleep, my nightmares would pick up as if I didn't wake up. >.<

I hope everyone is having a good morning.

Drinking just isn't a good idea on psych meds in general. That's my personal experience anyways.

Drinking increases the effects of antipsychotics but decreases the effects of antidepressants. I think.

My psychologist/psych nurse said to take the oral Abilify at night and must be done for a couple weeks to see any effect on my tiredness.

I don't think that there's anything that can be done. I'll just have to accept the fact that I wont have the motivation, wakefulness at times and creativity like I used to have.

I know what you mean about not having the motivation and such that you used to. That's been the case for me as well, I know it's extremely frustrating.

I always get so ticked off by it because I know my potential is so much better but I have to accept my limitations.

I've been taking abilify along with my thorazine for a few months now. I get up a lot earlier, and I'm not tired no matter when I go to sleep.

I'm supposed to go to my clinic appointment today but I'm already getting freaked out at the mere thought of the stairs. I'm afraid they'll commit me to the hospital again and I don't want to go there either. I'm so afraid. What will I do? Why can't I be like I used to be? Oh my God I'm so afraid.

My boyfriend and his roommate are making mushrooms..
Psychedelic ones.. Highly illegal. I'm trying not to let my panic show. I'm so glad I'm leaving to go stay the night with my best friend later so we can work on my hair tomorrow.

I'm not allergic to abilify but I did get hives when I took Seroquel extended release three years ago. Freaked me out.

Are you going to have any? That wouldn't be a great idea for any of us with any kind of psychosis.

it'll be okay. I used to freak out like that too before my doctor quit. It only happened once with her in 6 years.

The second and last time I tried them, omg. I thought all of my bfs paintings had stolen him because he was just standing there motionless with tears coming down his face. I called my best friend and she came over and brought me lots of candy and stuff. Hours later, I was calling his roommate freaking out. She was out of town, so she had to get another friend to come over and snap my bf out of his trance and they had to take down every single painting and picture. (His entire house is filled of them. Like. Probably close to 100 or more) every time I tried to come out of the room, I'd see a painting or whatever and freak out, start crying again and run back and slam the door behind me and went back to my "safe spot".

The first time, I got trapped in a bathroom. I thought I was in the guest entrance to the ministry of magic where they flush themselves down the toilet. Before I came to that thought, it was because I would spin and open a door, but I kept opening the closest door instead of the other two doors that go to the bathtub or bedroom. Lol. I almost was about to start climbing in the toilet and try to flush myself before my boyfriend appeared out of one of the doors and saved me. lol

I drank when I was on Olanzapine without any problems, but that doesn't mean it won't affect you somehow. Although, I think once I got a bit angry after drinking heavily, which is not at all like me.

When I was on Abilify, drinking would make my voices worse the next day.

I don't think stopping the meds to drink is the right call though, better the other way around...

I'd keep taking it & just drink as lightly as you can if you feel you must drink.

Here's a psych central Q&A that might help... What are the dangers of mixing antipsychotics and alcohol? | Ask the Therapist

Really enjoyed The Conjuring 2...

Had a few jumps, had you holding your breath a lot waiting for things to happen... but mostly it was a solid story. Was fairly long though, not that I think that was a bad thing necessarily.

I think the problem with most horror films, is you sort of know what to expect... so it's hard to get genuinely scared sometimes but doesn't mean they can't give you the chills when they are good.

Glad to know it was good, I thought the first one was ok, but my wife liked it. Is this one better than the first?

No, it was never going to be though but it was still a good film. Let's face it... most horror sequels are a flop, so that's saying something.

I thought the first was amazing though, so...
