I would very much appreciate if you help me!

Here are some of my good things to do:

- walk, fitbit counts steps, goal is 50K steps a week, this week I am over that already
- swim
- bike but I do not do that now because I am constantly dizzy and a little nauseated
- pedicure and manicure but right now I cannot afford it
- meditation but I do not have the discipline yet
- strength training
- foot massage (not too expensive here)
- foot soak (almost free - epson salt and lavender oil)
- pet and groom cats
- rest - my personal trainer says that one day of rest is paramount for muscle development

The spreadsheet will be online as a google sheet, for copying, with detailed instructions on customization.

The approach is week by week and in that it differs from Optimism Online. But other than that, there will be colors, graphs, and the whole thing.

Can you give me some examples of good things you do for yourself - read, sew, hike, draw, etc.? Thanks.
This is a cool idea. Good luck with it.

Journalling has been mentioned but I wanted to emphasize it because it can be really supportive and healing and done in different ways. Sometimes you can do self-analysis, like carrying your therapy over and working out something. Also you can be creative and use it to write imaginatively.

Getting out into nature is recognized as healing almost by everyone.

I like to take photos without feeling pressure to be a "photographer" but still feel creative.

Likewise, any form of arts and crafts where you feel relaxed and not pressured to be an "artist."

Any sensory experience from a bath to incense can be good.

Reading.

Taking a road trip, just to get out and about.

Going through the day pretending you are like the Buddha or other kind person and just being nice to people. You'd be surprised how many people notice and how good it feels.

Learning…almost anything. A language. A skill. A martial art.

Moving meditation. I do Tai Chi. Others do Qigong.

Thank you very much for the replies. I will create a form on Google Drive and post a link here, so that I can see what is unique to somebody and what is - e.g. journaling - repeated. Thanks again.

Well, I'll admit it. I slipped up today in my eating habits. Tomorrow's a new day though

I'm looking forward to seeing that form, hamster-bamster! I hope everyone who has a cold recovers.

Yesterday I hiked 3 miles or so and did some 8 minute exercise video. I refrained from snacking several times. It was interesting to note how often I had to metaphorically slap my hand away from eating more bread (it's really good bread -- whole grain olive bread from a wood fired oven).

I may hike again today, but I did something to my foot last week and it's still bothering me. I'm doing something this weekend that will involve a ton of walking, so I should probably give it a rest. I am not sure what I will do for exercise instead.
Thanks for this!

My cold is finally cleared. I am taking a Tai Chi class that has some warm ups as well. Next week I'm going to spend more time outdoors and gently move toward an exercise routine that I downloaded from the internet.

For self care I've decided to start meditating again and also do something creative like starting an art journal. I have a book about not painting yourself into a corner that is sorta self-help using art and tells you how to make an art journal.

I need to exercise today, but I am not sure what I will do. I did a lot of walking this weekend. My foot is still bothering me a bit and I am not sure I want to stress it. I've been doing some gardening on and off all day, so hopefully that counts for something.

Well, something new for me. My therapist encouraged me to look for opportunities to do something new. She said to see them as gifts to myself.

What new thing did you wind up doing?

I have been much more aware of my tendency to snack out of habit/boredom. I want to go snack right now, but I'm being strong!
Thanks for this!

Today's Sunday so it's my rest day, well I've technically taken several "rest" days lately Anyway, I'm getting back to it tomorrow for sure. My goal is to make it 1 week, I've never done that before. Of course, I'm going to continue after reaching that. Everyone here is doing great!

It may sound foolish, but I am trying to scrape together the money to take "a" horseback riding lesson. I love horses. I have wanted to ride for a very long time.

I have decided to start the "couch to 5k"-program, and I went for a run today. The entire run today (changing between walking and running) only lasted 30 minutes, but I haven't excercised - especially not regularly for years and years, so it feels like a huge accomplishment! I am really motivated to keep on going too.
Thanks for this!

I'm back home from my trip, feeling a little lacking in motivation so if anyone has any words of wisdom I'm open.

I'm giving myself a little time to readjust to being home so I put off starting up anything until Oct. 1st. A new month seemed like a good start date.

I want to do an exercise routine that includes some light weights. I've tried it a number of times, but something would always come up and I would stop. This time I really want to try to stick with it. I have some goals, like weight loss and toning that I'm aiming for.

As far as self-care, I'm going to first concentrate on meditation and Tai Chi, but I am in search of something more fun and playful as well.

Missed doing exercise last weekend but went walking the weekend before! Thanks to the prompting of this thread Bluebird(cheer).
Today I was very fortunate to have a private half hour freestyle stroke correction swim lesson at the local pool ( no one else turned up and first group class free) so it was great, first swim for the spring. A Beautiful day as well!
Thanks for this!

I am planning a special outing today. At first I did not want to spend the money. But I have worked under very difficult conditions recently. I deserve an outing.
