Here is the fitness thread! Each day we can record what we did to be fit and healthy, share diet tips, etc. Anything you need support and kudos for.
We'll keep this one going each day. Just record the day of the week each time you post. I'll do mine below as an example.

You can go back as the thread grows to get other's tips, or ideas or to track your progress. Format your progress any way you wish.

Even if you record one little thing each day, it's fine, sometimes all we have is one small thing, but for us bipolars it is huge. Or you can record everything at the end of each day.

If you are way down, just record that you got out of bed, or washed your face... that you are safe. We all understand each other.
If you are up, just record your stuff and let us know you are safe.

There is no judgement on this thread. No explanations are needed.

Enjoy!
Thanks for this!

Breakfast: Power shake. Chocolate protein powder, teaspoon of peanut butter, banana, 1 cup of skim milk. 310 calories.

Took meds. Plan on walking two to four miles later.

Wednesday

Took morning med

Good breakfast: 1 egg & toast. 1 cup of coffee.

Early dinner: Chicken marsala (small portion) and broccoli. Passed on the salad (I'm turned off by salad lately and I used to love it.)

Haven't had my evening meal yet (will be light like a lunch)

Will take evening meds at 9 pm

I can't bring myself to go out for walks yet. I rarely go out on my own anymore--anxiety, I get stressed, information overload (even in a natural woodsy setting--too much visual info). I'm trying to gear myself up for it.

Wednesday:

Uh oh, I had two cupcakes this afternoon. they are left over from my birthday.

I had a banana and some walnuts at dinner time and will have a light snack later on.

Still working on getting that walk in. Might have to use my treadmill if it doesn't cool off.

where I am currently:
I have gained twenty-five pounds so far in 2010, my diet is high in fat and unhealthy, I do not get sufficient exercise

problem: sink doesn't drain so I can't use dishwasher nor wash dishes easily so my son and I eat out most meals (usually fast food) except for precooked things we can reheat in microwave/oven
plan: TLC will be here in June with a psychologist and or professional organizer so if we can get the clutter cleared in the kitchen sufficient for a plumber's workspace I can then hire a plumber to fix the sink

problem: my refrigerator no longer keeps things frozen and does not cool as well as it should so that limits what we can buy so we have been keeping things like donuts and pepperoni rolls on hand for snacks
plan: my sister told me she would buy me a new refrigerator but there is too much clutter currently for delivery; if TLC's show can help then I can clear a path for delivery

problem: my asthma has been worse since 2009 and I can no longer do activities I did one year ago such as hiking a half mile back into the woods or carrying a fifty pound bag of horse feed to the barn
plan: schedule appt with allergist for new ideas; buy cover for my mattress to protect me from dust mite allergy

Thursday: slimfast for breakfast (which is more breakfast than I usually eat). Lunch will be salad and sandwiches, but I'll forego the bread.

My weight fluctuates a lot, but right now I'm down 3 lbs. from where I was earlier this week.

Great idea BNLsMOM!

I only ate a banana and 2 cups of coffee for 'breakfast' today. Usually I have a better breakfast, oatmeal and fruit or some cold cereal, but was in a hurry today because I had to take the Hubster to work so I could keep the car today for my running around.
I was so excited when I checked my glucose levels before I ate this morning, only 99

YEAH first time in a very long time it was 'normal' (under 100 is normal). So I'm doing some stuff right!

When I got back, it was still cool enough to walk the dog 1 mile or just a little less, I still haven't used my pedometer on the path I took today. It's a different way than usual. Just to change things up a little.

That helps me to not get bored with the walking routine and the dog loves all the new smells and bushes along the way.

Then I worked at pulling, chopping, killing some more ivy out of my garden/yard for 1 and a half hours. I drank 2 cans of Coke Zero while working out there.

Got my shower and while visiting PC, ate a small 'Pure Protein Bar" a blueberry crumb cake flavor...so now I have some protein and am ready to run off on my shopping and library and banking and other "I need a car to do this" stuff.

I'll take a bottle of water with me so I get something healthier to drink and maybe go to subway for lunch if I get hungry while I'm out. I get a "Jared Special", (no cheese, no sauces, and one of the whole grain buns) and that is a great choice for low fat. Along with the apple slices.
Happy day to everyone here.

Breakfast cofee and oatmeal
Lunch fiberPlus bar
Alot of water

Haven't exercised yet. It is beautiful here, too. I should walk my dog as well.

Farmergirl...Are you on the slimfast plan? It worked for me. I lost quite a bit of weight from doing it. I'd love to do slimfast again but my husband won't alllow it. Last time I ended up restricting too much and lost too much weight. (so he says).

It's worked for me before, and I'd have to lose A LOT of weight for it to be too much. I just find it easy and convenient which makes it easy for me to do. Hopefully, I'll see some weight loss over time. I have a hard time being disciplined about my eating habits. Always a battle.

I had my banana for breakfast earlier with coffee and my calcium chewy, carmel flavor, yummy. I'll have a 1 serving bowl of Fiber One with 1/2 cup fat free milk in just a minute. Then, off walking with my little doggie. I'm going to try a new path again today. It is still cool enough outside so that I can make this walk a long one.

My lunch has to be a better choice today than yesterday. I ended up asking the guy behind the counter at a coffee bar if they had a nutrition guide for any of their food. Mostly sweets/pasteries, cookies, etc.

They had rice krispie treats Fitness Thread - Open to all at any time! with only 240 calories with 3.5 grams of fat! So that was my late afternoon "lunch/treat"! and I actually lost 2 pounds in the last 2 days. So it does work for me when I "walk it off". For a sweet treat, that was a good 'calorie' choice!

My motto is:

I ate it, negate it with activity.

Sorry your husband is so sweet. One of the things we were taught at the 3 month nutrition class I just finished was how to talk to those who want to feed us. That is your next plan of action.

Plan A: Talk with him and tell him you want to get fit and healthy. "I know you think you are being loving, but Please don't feed me".

kadesgirl09, Please do not eat that whole cherry pie today.

Plan B: if you do, plan how much exercise you need to get in over the next few days to balance out those extra calories. 1 mile of brisk walking 15-20 minutes to walk 1 mile burns about 100 calories. So to just balance that cherry pie, you would need to walk about 4.5 miles. Just to be even. Is that pie worth it to you.

Very important part of plan B is: if you do eat it, don't beat yourself up afterwards. Be kind to yourself always and use positive talk.

I say things like 'opps, it's time to start over, right now'. Think fit, think healthy think...plan ahead.....

Plan C: Get back on the scale too. Boy, I know I don't like to weigh in when I know I've gone over my goal plan. Be accountable to yourself, especially when you know you've had a few less healthy choices in eatting or activity.

Plan D: Take the dam pie out of your purse girlfriend! Replace it with a fresh piece of fruit and a bottle of water! Or a diet Coke!

Plan E: It will still be around for you to share with your hubby later on. Freeze half of it. Share with a friend.

Plan F: Eat just the fruit parts and pick the crust off, throw it away and smile at yourself for eatting healthier. The fat grams in the crust are very dense calories. 1 gram of fat is 9 calories, a gram is about the weight of a paper clip. Alcohol has 7 calories per gram. Protein and Carbohydrates have 4 calories in a gram.

Okay, you just go kadesgirl09!

I walked on my treadmill today for 2 miles. It is cloudy and looks like it is going to rain so I couldn't walk the doggie. So I was stuck on the treadmill today.
