As to me, Pokemon Go! Also, Game of War but I quit because it was making me manic, big time.

What about you ?

I actually don't know, they just seem to come.on, maybe stressful situations would be one trigger.

Very stressful times that aren't short term make me have a mixed episode with psychosis. But it has to be major stress for a prolonged period. I'll disassociate, too, which scares me. They last months, too. Last one was six months.

Ugh, I hope nothing really bad happens.

I guess stress?

Sometimes a lack of sleep will do it too, but not always. Maybe it's a chicken and egg problem?

Also, any dose of Adderall. A high enough dose of Lexapro.

Stress and lack of sleep as mentioned above. Sleep is very important for me, if I stay up all night I will become hypo. And antipsychotics like geodon, abilify and anti-depressants. Lol this is why I have trouble with meds.

Usually stress and lack of sleep. Although sometimes it shows up on its own.

Stress, for sure. It's the worst. Especially when something stressful is going on and I'm in limbo, like waiting for whatever it's going to take to end the stress. But it's weird. I'm Bipolar II with mixed states. So the stress can depress me, I start beating myself up for not being "normal" and just living life and not obsessing over the stress, I think that's always the initial reaction. THEN to get out of the depression I will either mix in some hypomanic tendencies, or I'll go full-on hypomanic. So, I think waiting is what triggers me. Waiting for a resolution to a problem, waiting on a phone call with news or an update, waiting for someone to show up. So, waiting=stress. Stress=hypomania and mixed states.

When I go through different lifestyle changes where it takes some adjusting, this often leads to hypomania. Also, sometimes "positive" stressors will bring on the symptoms. Lack of sleep is a big factor too.

I started Prozac last Thursday and it put me straight into a mixed state. So yeh, that and stress.

HelloSpasticBliss, this is a really great description here. Thanks a lot. Sounds a lot like me. Electronics that don't work are a huge one for me. Waiting on the phone for some customer service person to help. Incompetent people on the customer service phones. I get totally, totally focused on the thing I need to work, then call or wait for a long time. That's a big form or stress for me. Netflix's DVD helpline has very limited hours, and is closed on Sundays. Netflix streaming number has better open hours. Also Netflix pays their streaming service people more than they do their DVD workers. This upsets me and I always complain to the rep about this and ask t hem to pass along my concerns and frustrations. Noise and frantic movement around me on the streets/sidewalk in the city where I live is another huge problem -- I freak out in my head, and sometimes on an open place in the sidewalk where there are not any people, I scream. The city is getting crowded. It's hard to walk down the sidewalk -- people all over the place - have to dodge them to get anyplace. I hate that, too. All this is relatively recent for me. Prior to 20 years ago these were serious problems; but meds for 20 years made them pretty much go away. I fell on the sidewalk due to unstable feet, about 2 months ago, and have been titrating up on lithium, off lamictal, and that's what's causing the problems now.

Thanks everyone. I realized I had a bunch of stressful stuff hit me at once and that did it. Will call pdoc if I start heading toward mania and psychosis. Im very distracted, thinking multiple things at once. Probably won't post until I stabilize ... I can't focus atm. I'll read posts for now.

Anyone else able to reply to my thread on how you track your moods...that would help me. Thanks to Miguel's Mom for the reply. I'm hoping more of you will reply.

I need help in this area. I read MM's post but have no idea what Google Play even is....so please support me and reply. Even a "I just guess" helps me. The post where a bunch of you put percentages next to mood state. Thanks.

Bad stress will throw me into a bad hypo trip where I'm mad and doing things in a mad mood. I recognize it when it's coming on but can't always get ahead of it to keep from upsetting my family. I'm aware of it enough to to say hey....I'm in a mood and I gotta let it run its course; need 20 minutes.

I have been keeping a log since I got diagnosed and it helps. Before bed I basically just sum up my day and the moods i was in during those activities and also try to grasp the overall mood of my day. It's working quite well. I suggest just a simple phone app for it. I use the stock "notes" app on iphone but there are literally hundreds of free apps the same. Just search "notes" in ur phones shop. Or if u want it on a computer just open up a wors or notepad doc and start logging. It helps i think.

It's very hard for me to know most of the time but I do know that especially when I was working too much responsibility (or my feeling too much responsibility since I take on plenty that isn't mine) will trigger hypomania. Mostly I just get mixed and the triggers can be anything, even good things, I think. But I am not very good with insight on this.

I used to think it was mostly lack of sleep, but after this weekend I don't know what comes first. The lack of sleep or does the episode cause the lack of sleep. It has been a weird weekend. Went from good to bad so fast my head is still spinning.

I think you would LOVE the BEAM Mood Chart Printable. Do a search on google images for BEAM Mood Chart Printable. Here's the link. I've used this one for years. The only times I've skipped working with it is when I've been stable for months. When things get rocky again, I use it. I've been using it this time for over a month. I expect to use it for a few months at least t his time, since my moods are all over the place. I'm ultra rapid cycling. I print it in color, even though I rarely use my color printer due to the cost of cartridges. But it would work in B/W too. Color is more fun, of course. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...6J1JTL3IWkM%3A

That's a hard question to answer for me. Stress coupled with lack of sleep usually leads to depression or mixed for me. Largely because if I'm stressed, it's over something I blame myself for.

I tend to get hypo if I start to have energy because then I start making insane goals for myself. Lack of sleep does come into play because I think not sleeping will give me more time to work on those goals. But I'm not really sure that answers your question.

Thank you! I apologize for the delayed reply. This system is working for me except I make notes in a regular notebook throughout my day. I have a med I take every four hours so I just "check in" during those times. I also like the physical aspect of using a pen and paper. Old school lol. xo
