Breakfast: two scrambled eggs with cheese, ham and toast
Lunch: What was left of the Happy Family (lol)
Snack: cheese stick and ¼ cup cashews
Dinner: Homemade spaghetti (because I didn't plan for anything else, and I want comfort food)

Blood sugar is doing well. Still need to check my weight, though. It probably didn't help that I gorged on the fajitas last night. They were so good, though.

Either I have gained 3-4 lbs recently because of small doses of Seroquel and Zyprexa, or the body weighs a different amount at different times of the day. I used to weigh myself around 8AM and today weighed myself at 4:30 AM.

Cooked borscht:

- celery
- onions
- carrots
- beets
- apple cider vinegar
- low sodium chicken broth
- canned diced tomatoes
- salt
- pepper
- celery seed
- dill
-ate it with kefir cheese

Also made compote:
- prunes
- dried apricots
- dried cherries
- dried blueberries
- dried cranberries
- raisins

Went to a pizza joint with my daughter. Rare that she'll go to a sit-down restaurant. She had pizza and I had a chicken salad. I then went grocery shopping after we got back home. Small trip. Need to go again. Plus I had my phone in the cart so I didn't get any credit for my steps in the store!

I've been busier and more excited lately and it just squashes my appetite. I'm eating soooooooo little! I'm going in a weight-loss contest patterned after "The Biggest Loser." It's arranged by a women's 45+ meetup group i joined. Our first meeting is next Monday. Last year the winner won $400!!!

I got a complete refund for my plumbing fiasco -- all $225!!! I was assertive and calm on the phone with the manager. I spoke slowly and let my voice rise one time to communicate my anger. It was effective. The guy was completely co-operative and assured me they are not there to cause trouble.

It was not nearly as hard as i thought it would be and i am pleased and impressed with myself and inspired to tackle another project: getting new flooring!!! That's been outstanding for about ten years. I just didn't feel up to it but i think i can handle it now. I feel more confident in myself since this plumbing incident has gone so well.

Aces!

I also made lasagne. What a piece of work that was! I just made a small pan as i have only an 24" range with a little Easy-Bake-sized oven and i cut it into 16 tiny pieces so i can work it into my diet. Mmm, entrees for 16 days! It's delicious! The smell was wonderful. I rarely cook so this was quite the triumph!

I had yogurt and coffee and two protein shakes and a protein bar so far. Lots of water too.

I logged into my fitness pal....hadnt been on in over a year. The weight I had saved in there compared to my current weight is down 19lbs, I'm so stoked about that. I'll track my calories from now on and continue workouts at the gym and see if I can get the rest of this weight off. I need to lose 30 lbs to be at my goal weight.

Feeling like a failure. Haven't worked out all week. Just had some ice cream. Can't seem to keep up on tracking what I eat or sticking with any of the plans I make. I don't know why I can't keep up with something for more than like for a week before I slack off or don't follow through. They say it takes 6 weeks to form a new habit- I am going to figure out how to eat healthy and work out for 6 weeks straight if it kills me. I just seeem to be lacking motivation. Not gonna let my moods run my life. Grrr. I don't know if I can juggle both work and the rest of my life. One of the two is gonna turn to ****, and i need my job to pay rent etc so it becomes the priority instead of me.
Ugh. I am saying this here and trying to mean it- stop ****ing around and suck it up and get control of this one area of your life at least!

The size of my latest clothing purchase has horrified me. This weekend I went grocery shopping and bought fruits and veggies instead of pizza and donuts. Wish me luck!

Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia flare-up seems to have passed. I am still tired and sore but no where near as much. So, I have been able to get back into swimming. Not doing as much exercise as before in case I trigger another flare-up but happy I can exercise at all. Diet is pretty good. No snacks and healthy meals but I have been drinking more so a bit of a fail there. Problem is I am so agitated, restless and irritable. In fact I can't stop moving...and drinking. Sigh.

My weight is at least stable.

The only thing that works for me is a food log. I will start again today. Have been eating too much for the last two months and I am sick and tired of it. Time to jump back on the horse.

I'm getting a great workout doing Spring cleaning. It's a good situation because i end up with a clean and tidy house while i get my exercise. I'm transitioning to black coffee. I used to use three heaping spoonfuls of coffee whitener. Now i'm down to one. On my way! Love coffee -- decaf, of course. Love tea, too -- herbal, of course. No caffeine. Love Coke Zero Sugar. My thirst is powerful but my appetite is small. Staying busy and active is very good for my diet. Hugs, Jane.

Last Saturday I had lost another 2lbs for a total of 18lbs. But I totally lost it on the weekend as per usual and overdosed on carbs and calories. So lord only knows if I gained it back. I don't want to weigh until Saturday again. Did well today, I was slightly depressed and very stressed so I wanted high carb but I went to Red Robin and ate a burger in a lettuce wrap with broccoli instead of fries. So I still came in at 23 carbs. That's a victory.

I did 2 minutes of a five minute ab workout today lol but 2 minutes is better than no minutes. I'll see if I can do 2.5 minutes tomorrow. Eventually I want to try cardio as well but I have to work up the motivation!

I started making protein drinks.

- 1 scoop of the protein mix, strawberry-banana flavor (that is not too bad)
- 1 cup of plain kefir
- 1/4 cup of vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup of frozen triple berry mix from Costco

This produces 2 cups. I drink 1 cup first thing in the morning and 1 cup right before bedtime, both with hot tea because I do not like how cold the final product is.

I hope this will reduce my cholesterol - I had a rise in cholesterol from taking Zyprexa. I am setting a reminder in one quarter to repeat blood work.
