Hey Bizi! how are the restless legs?
If they continue, look into magnesium. Feel free to PM me. Keep up the good work! __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. |

I just had them one night thankfully. I have had them before but that was attributed to seroquel. I take 1,000mg of mag oxide for constipation. works great mostly. Thank you for your support. We went to a BBQ open house for dinner tonight.
All university people, very nice. I had met many of them before. We brought chantilly cake cup cakes and another kind of cake tres lechea (3 milks) that the whole foods baker highly recommended. no one tried it. This is what I ate: Brats with sauerkraut and spicy mustard were very good, as was the spinach dip with tiny cucumber slices. and 2 mini carrots. I resisted the deserts they looked delicious! and I drank hot tea. My social anxiety wasn't too bad. bizi __________________ 150mg of lamictal 2x a day haldol 5mg 2x a day 1mg of cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, 4-5 peri-colace for chronic constipation multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine at noon PRN Remeron 15mg at night, zyprexa10mg under tongue, requip2mg. |

I am glad to read magnesium oxide works okay for you. It is the most difficult form to assimilate. Should you need more from magnesium, you might try magnesium citrate. The citrate formulation will very likely help more with constipation issues, by far. Love ya!!!

I did not know that about the citrate. I take 2-3 mostly 3 capsules around 1250mg of the mag oxide....I would hate to mess with my routine. I will definitely keep this in mind though. You're a doll. Ohhhhhh Citrate Mag ( shutter ) I was given 4 bottles of this, nasty lemon (gag ) flavor when I had a bowel blockage. I was lucky and didn’t need surgery, thank god but for a month I had to take 3 tablespoons a day.
I actually do keep a bottle in my fridge if things arent moving. More than 3 days with out a BM my Doctor told me drink at least half. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

Oh, that stuff! Yuck! it's possible to simply get magnesium citrate tablets/caps. If this form of magnesium is not available, one might try magnesium gluconate. Bizi, Exactly! Cherry flavor is much, much better than lemon. Until I tried cherry I had to mix the lemon flavor with some sugar to get it down (yes, I used to have severe, chronic constipation as hard as that is to believe) but cherry I can handle fine with a straw and a very cold bottle of the stuff. There's also grape flavored but I've never tried it; it sounds bad to me.

Thanks so much After my blockage I keep very close tabs on my bathroom habit’s. What I went through truly was worse than labor. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

Many take this daily in order to meet daily requirements and, as a side-effect, it helps regularity. We also need magnesium for heart function and more. Magnesium can be very calming on the nrevous system. some people take it at night for this reason. it has been known to calm "restless legs" and muscle spasms, etc. Some find it very helpful for calming neuropathies. -- both by mouth and the topical formulations. it comes in topical forms and is an incredibly useful formulation for peripheral neuropathy, etc. i do recall the liquid you are both referring to! __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. |

I use to take magnesium and many more supplements on a regular basis but I remembering one day choking on a couple of the bigger ones, I was home alone and it really scared me. I shoved them in a dresser drawer and just forgot them.. I do take a multi vitamin and of course vitamin D as I’m always low on it.
Magnesium is also very good for Fibromyalgia. Once my ultrasound is done I need to get back on them all, I know I’m lacking many things. Studies on Fibro patients has actually shown despite supplements we often are running low of important vitamin and minerals. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

I take mag oxide pills for migraine prevention. Mag citrate was only as needed for constipation when it got beyond all other treatments. The mag oxide might have helped my constipation some but it's hard to know for sure and now that's just a moot point.

There's nothing wrong with magnesium oxide if it works well for your goals/purposes for using it. It is less bioavailable however. BeyondTheRainbow, you make a good point, some people cannot tolerate the citrate form without loose stools. Others need the citrate form. it's great the oxide formula helps your migraines. Formulations, other than oxide, are generally considered more therpeutic. Various formulations tend to target various conditions. There are several formulations, each of which seem to best target specific purposes. This can be confusing. I solve this by using a formulation which has more than one type of magnesium in it. There are formulations which have appox. 5 formulations of calcium and 5 formulations of magnesium. Example: Country Life's Target-Mins Calcium Magnesium Complex. I often use this formulation. Country life also offers a magnesium supplement with multiple forms of magnesium, also referred toas "Target-Mins." __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. Just an FYI: ducosate sodium is a stool softener which increases the amount of water absorbed by the stool
Many meds cause constipation. Personally, I prefer to address this via using the more natural approaches mentioned above. Should those approaches fail, I sometimes resort to ducosate sodium, which comes as a small capsule. Ducosate sodium is often used in hospital settings. __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. |
