I will likely go with a lower carb tho, I can test my blood sugar anytime I want so I’m going to fiddle with the carbs to see where my blood sugar is most stable.

Planning meals and shopping for them is simple for me.

As for exercise ? Right now it’s just not possible until my breathing returns to normal, I got so out of breath just putting sheets on my bed today it’s just ridiculous. So that will come later.

I told my husband to enjoy the rest of the year because the day we return from Florida it’s all healthy 100% of the time and very controlled portion sizes.

So I have lots of chili, soups, and pasta dishes in the freezer to pull out and eat.

I’m glad I finally just made the decision.
That sounds like a really great plan Christina. You can transition to something you're comfortable with and have had success in the past. You're giving yourself time to eat what's available to you know and time to plan next months meals. Awesome progress!

Hi Bizi!
I want to add a quick note.
ALT: This enzyme is primarily a muscle enzyme. If it is high, especially by itself, it's important to also consider any insults to muscles. This might include heart attack or something as simple as an IM injection (or: flu shot) or even exercising heavily.
It's critical to review with your physician with any elevated liver enzyme.

Hope this helps, Bizi!

I am taking a couple of days off from exercise to rest and enjoy the holiday. I seem to have developed metatarsalgia in my right foot. The best medicine for it is rest, so I intend to curl up on the couch for a while today. I am also reminded that comfy Thanksgiving shoes are a must. Bye bye cute ankle boots.

I know there many of you who are hurting in one way or another today. I am sending healing vibes to all!

Metatarsalgia sounds painful!
I hope you feel more comfortable soon!

Thanks! It is like a hot iron being stabbed into my foot when I step down, but it feels fine when there is no pressure on it. There are some inflamed nerves there and they just need to chill out for a bit. Literally. Ice and rest are the best remedies for it. It healed pretty quickly the last time I had it. Oddly enough it was this same time last year.

Ouch!

You probably know there are a variety of "orthotics" available for the metatarsal area? Some are much better than others. I cannot recall the brands I'd liked. It's been my experience that it's difficult to get them to stay in place as a separate piece, as opposed to being attached to a complete sole insert.

I hope you heal quickly!

I made the poor decision to have McDonald’s for lunch. Without knowing we were going to have bbq for dinner for RS’s cousin’s bday. So I went over on carbs, but only by 10g. Still under calories.

I had intended to suspend my diet and just enjoy food tomorrow but I don’t think I can. I’m too obsessed with it. I bought some eggs to have for breakfast, not planning on eating lunch. I’m definitely going to have a dinner roll and a piece of pumpkin pie (my fav!) but I’m really going to try to stick to turkey and veggies.

I’m just afraid that even one day will throw off any weight loss I might have succeeded in.

It's 2:30am here and I can't sleep, so I figured I might as well do an early check-in! Good morning everybody! The inside of my left ear hurts, and when I bend over at the waist and the blood rushes to my head, there are weird feelings running from my ear and into my head that shouldn't be there. I SHOULD go to my ENT and have him drain my ear(which I'm supposed to have done about every few months), and have him check it out and look for infection, but I won't tell my Dad or Stepmom. My Dad already has to take me to pick up my psych meds, and is in charge of giving me my daily meds since my safety plan is to keep all alcohol and pills locked up because of my suicide attempt in 2016. I regret that attempt deeply, but much good came out of it because I was an alcoholic and I stopped drinking. And I won't ask my dear Stepmom to drive me because she does so much keeping the house in order and making nutritious/delicious meals for us most of the week. And she, along with me are uneasy, watching my dear Dad's health deteriorate. So I don't want to give her or me additional stress. What if I had an infection and needed meds for it, what if I had to go far away to see a specialist again. I can't deal with that right now so all I can do is hope that it will get better on its own. (Many times it has before.) I know I shouldn't worry about "If" this or that, but go forward and take care of business. I even read once that 80% of the things we worry about never happen, but nevertheless, I can't deal with it right now.

P.S. The reason my ear is messed up is because when I was 17 I was in a near fatal car accident. It was completely my drunken fault, and my sister was in the car with me. No one was hurt thank goodness, but my dear sister, (I have two!) although not physically hurt, I believe bears the scars of that night. She says she was glad for that accident because it stopped her from ever driving with alcohol in her system or above the legal limit, I can't remember which. As for me, I had to have an emergency crainiotomy, and my ear was hurt where my skull was fractured on the t-top of my car. That's why I have problems with it today. A miniscule price to pay for the lives I could have taken, including my own, in my young ignorance, foolishness, a feeling of invincibility. Thank you for listening.

You might want to check out some of the online sites which offer the nutritional info on most food items, prior to shopping? You could do this in the comfort of your home and can choose foods prior to going to the store.

An example of such a site: Food Nutrition Facts and Free Calorie Counter | CalorieKing
I am sure there are other sites offering the same/similar info.

Just a thought!
Great to have you sharing with us!
MyFitnessPal is also good for tracking nutrition info. Their free option even includes a bar code reader.

The days I drink too much coffee, I get anxious. The days I don't are better. I must cut down on the coffee. The same goes for alcohol, but less anxiety and more general malaise. I really don't want more than 1/2 to max 1 drink per day, preferably not consumed quickly.

I was just wondering if anyone looking for a supportive weight loss website has ever heard of "3 Fat Chicks on a Diet"? The 3 chicks are 3 sisters who were dieting together and started the website. I used it obsessively for a whole year when I was trying to lose weight some time ago, and I lost the weight! The weight loss trackers were so fun and encouraging and the forums were incredibly supportive. Here's the link if you're interested! 3FatChicks on a Diet! – Diet & Weight Loss Support
P.S. I went to the website and looked for the weight loss trackers but couldn't find them, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Well my stomach was just really wonky ( tossed up dinner) yesterday and today I’m still pretty solid “ rolling nausea” so thank god we had decided not to do the whole “ Feast” since it’s just my husband and I.

I’m so freaking over this asthma shyt .. 3 months !!! Hurry up and wait til Humira fully leaves my system... but since I had no idea this was due to taking Humira , I’ve actually only been off Humira for 3 weeks. Half life is 3-6 months so ..... I could still have months to go

Oh, Christina

I am sorry you are feeling unwell.
you' have been through enough.
I do not blame you for your concern about the time it might take to clear the Humira.
I hope you can sleep well tonight.
Much love!

Sooo I way overate in calories and carbs yesterday bc of thanksgiving even though I was going to try not to. I’m very frustrated because even though I shouldn’t have I weighed myself today and I’m up 1.2 pounds. I’m hoping it’s just water weight. But I was so good with calories and carbs for the past two weeks, how could I not have lost any weight at all? Why is it so impossible for me? I mean I’ve been staying around 1300 calories for two weeks, under 120 carbs evert day, and nothing. This is why I give up. And as soon as I give up, I gain five pounds again. Seems gaining weight is no issue.

I feel a little sick today, a bit like I’m coming down with a cold. Sore throat, headache, exhausted, that kind of thing. My son really wants to put up the Christmas tree and play the game of life but I don’t want to. But I promised him I would. So I will. I just need to lay down for awhile first.

My hot flashes seem to be getting worse and I don't know why. I'm still on the med (Abilify) that seemed to help lessen the amount and intensity of them. My ear is still messed up, but it might be getting a little better. We'll see. Otherwise, I'm physically ok today. I hope you are all doing OK!

wildflower, I think you could cut back on your carbs. I have always heard that you cut back to 60 grams.....I am not counting. just know that I don't eat flour, sugar, potatoes, rice.so basically I eat meat and veggies.
I only eat 2 meals a day and no snacking. My big meal of the day is lunch. no breakfast then lunch at 11;30. I eat lunch at a health food store and can eat a protein then 3 sides of veggies.

Please don't give up!
