Me too. The new typical is going to bed at 12 and tossing and turning until 5 or so when I finally fall asleep for a couple hours. But my bed thankfully isn't hard stone so I stay in bed.

Speaking of hard stone... My sister likes her beds solid as a rock! I don't know how she sleeps on it. I tried it when she bought it, and I was feeling pain in my back very quickly! I think sleeping on the floor would be more comfortable!

But yeah, according to my dad, she literally asked the salesperson at the furniture store for the firmest bed they had, and she had gone to a bunch of furniture stores before that, saying, "nope, not firm enough." I'm pretty sure her bed is just a slab of granite wrapped up in fabric to make it look like a bed. What's the point in that??? Just sleep on the floor at this point... unless the floor is too soft.

I have a pillow top as well. I don't want back problems!

I used to have a regular ol' bed with springs and just ever so slightly hard. I never slept well on it because my back would ache... but the new pillow top bed instantly let me sleep better. The change was like night and day.

Anyway, the chiropractor always comments on my sister's back being "out of alignment." I wonder why... lol.

I have an amazingly soft and suportive bed, God knows we paid enough for it..

When we went to Florida for those 8 months.. After packing every thing in the Uhaul Steve and I simple could not lift our mattress, We tried and tried, We got it the door way of our bed which is really big and I just started crying and told I just couldnt do it. So we left it here and decided we would find some thing cheap.. Well we did and it was as you said Blue like Granite.. Omg I was dying. I had told my daughter we had to leave out bed behind.. She was there waiting and had gone out and bought us blow up mattress.. I cried then too, It took us almost 20 hours to make the drive we were taking our boat and we towed that womans car.. But we bought that slab of granite and I ordered a 5 inch foam topper .. It really did help but it still was not very comfortable..

I sure hope sleep finds me tonight , I am in great need of at least 3 hours of unbroken sleep. My Fibro and PsA are so miserable..

Someone asked me if I had a choice to be relieved of Bipolar or my Pain... I picked Pain

My psychiatrist says I live on Australia time. Because of trauma issues I don't go to bed till dawn and I sleep till around noon. As long as I keep a consistent sleep -wake cycle it hasn't been a problem for my bipolar 1 disorder. If I find myself not going to bed at dawn and scrubbing the bathroom with a toothbrush instead, that's a problem. I write for a living and live alone so it actually doesn't matter when I start my day. I can't sleep in the dark no matter how hard I try even heavily medicated with seroquel, so Australia time works for me.

Oh yeah, I agree 100%, pain is better to get relief from. Bipolar is cyclical and you KNOW it will end. Thankfully the surgery ended my pain but man those years were awful. I was angry so much of the time cause of the constant pain and lack of sleep that went with it. I still think some of this newfound stability I have is because I have greater tolerance for life's daily fluctuations now than I had before I went though that Antony. I am constantly amazed how sweet you are cause I was a *****

Im glad you found pain relief it is hard to live a life with chronic pain. Oh trust me I have my moments tho Hahahahaha

Mainly I just get very quiet when my pain is high, sometimes I go in the bathroom run the water and have a good sob fest but then I am left with a pounding head ache, runny nose and a big splotchy red face lol

Yes Bipolar will cycle and spit you out the other side, eventually, that's the only consistent thing it does

I had a great app't with Pdoc today (he's absolutely wonderful) and I've been sleeping better even though I'm off Seroquel but tonight my mind is racing with thoughts of how to prepare for the Coronavirus. We are ill-prepared in our household and we need to come up with a better plan.

So I'm up at nearly 2am. Hugs everyone

Had been sleeping better lately...er well, I'm tired by the time I get to bed (2 or sometimes 3am). Anyway, but tonight I had a lot on my mind. I went to bed at 1am, but woke up twice already with anxiety and ruminating thoughts. Stopping by here. Feeling a bit better, so going to try to sleep again. Sometimes I just literally lie in bed for hours but don't come online anymore because the blue light isn't good for sleep...but other times, it's good to talk to people who get me and I can rest easy after that.

Well, best to all of you! Hope you get some sleep or continue to get some sleep! Hugs!

Chronic pain is exhausting and consuming. At least there are treatments for BP.

I wish there was a magic pill I could give you to help you sleep.

I'm hoping you're able to get some good shut-eye tonight.

Last night, I went to bed at 12:30am... instead of my usual 7pm. I just could not sleep! Then I woke up at 6am. Meh.

Did you get any sleep last night Christina?

Mine was really broken with snippets of dreams. I was a homeless ho in a city where the houses all merged together, no land. The streets were cobblestone and there were lots of stone arched bridges. If it wasn't raining it was all damp. I had on a long dress that opened in front and was hard to walk in but my feet were bare. I had a cat on my shoulder then one night he got scared and jumped off my shoulders in front of a streetcar but escaped being hit. I was too tired, exhausted and hungry to go after him. The dream ended like the girl in the matchbook stories except there was no snow. Just cold, damp and dark in an ally somewhere I was just too everything and just went to sleep forever. That was a depressing dream.

Well, I slept from 12:30am until 8am, but I woke up 7 times in the middle of the night, while also tossing and turning.

I want to know how to appease the sleep gods. Do I need a ritual?
