I used to have nosebleeds all the time and what I did was stick Aquaphor up my nose. I'm not sure if that's recommended but it helped

Oh my god. Everyone is saying it's Friday... I totally lost track of time and thought today was Monday already. lol. (I guess this is what happens when you're cooped up in your apartment for too long and work erratic hours on random days.)

Anyways, I did have my teletherapy session today. Went well. We talked A LOT about distractions, and how I can combat this issue where I am distracted for hours (like I am right now... figures).

I don't know why I thought it was Monday though... I have my therapy appts on Fridays and have been doing so for a while. But this is good news! I do not have to wake up early tomorrow for work! yippee!

TMI, but I have not taken a shower in 2 days. I really need to take a shower. I guess I haven't really felt a "need" for a shower since I'm not going anywhere... but yeah, I need to take one.

Complete space-O-zombie right now. Have been having all kinds of problems with this computer with Win 10 basically broken and just finally got so fed up last night that I decided to do the unthinkable and install a new OS. Which would be no issue, if I knew how to do that--but I really do not. At all. What's a BIOS? A total computer moron here. At one point, I managed to eliminate all boot options. Nice job, cyclist!! What an expert!

Anyhow, ended up working for about 4 hours doing al this stuff and I am at least now where I have a little linux OS I can get online with, so, partial success. Yeah!! Not able to install it on the hard drive. I think this hard drive is toast, I really do. But it will have to do for now. No budget for new puter.

So, finished that up at about 5 AM. Slept very briefly and woke up ready to go. Lotta trouble with voices while I was working last night. Paranoid out of my mind. People watching me through the walls, recording me, blah, bleeh, blooh. How is it that my neighbors are always magically awake at, like, 3 or 4 0r 5 in the morning when I am? How can that possibly be? Who does that, besides a bp 1 person?

I dunno. Just have to make it to pdoc appt. in couple of weeks. Maybe hit the Clozaril train. We shall see.

So happy and excited that some people are feeling better and pretty solid!! That is so awesome!! So sorry for folks still struggling! Right there with you! We will march through this together, Somehow, Some way.

Love and support to all my wonderful PC friends!

There is a PXE boot option and an option to boot from USB device. If you have a CD drive, you can boot from a CD as well.

USB device is probably the easiest to boot from, so long as you have an ISO of whatever OS you're planning to use. Just select it in the BIOS screen on boot by repeatedly pressing ESC, F11, or F2 (depending on your computer's make and model). You can choose where to install the OS to. You cannot delete the PXE or USB boot options from the BIOS screen.

When you install any OS (Windows, Ubuntu, etc.), you have the option to install to your HDD or SSD (if you have one), and even install to a specific partition, if you created any. Perhaps you skipped through that part where it asked you which one to install to? It HAS to be installed on your HDD or SSD. Also, Ubuntu and other OS's let you choose partitions and everything upon boot from the ISO.

What I recommend is going back to the BIOS screen, choosing the boot option (probably USB if you have a copy on a USB drive... otherwise do PXE boot), and choosing a specific partition to install your OS to. Usually the installer lets you create a partition, and I think it is safer long term to have partitions for these things in case you want to put windows back on your machine to dual boot it, rather than using some crappy windows emulator like Wine.

Very helpful, thanks, blue! Yeah, I am now able to boot using Yumi in to Mint, but it keeps giving some kind of error when I try to install on the hard drive. It says something like "that area is already in use" or words to that effect. No idea...

It's probably trying to install to a partition or a directory on your HDD/SSD that is already being consumed by something else. I would recommend creating an additional partition -- one specifically dedicated to your OS *only* -- and try installing to that partition of the HDD.

Here is how to create partitions upon installation of Mint:
Installation Guide of Linux Mint 19.2 Codename 'Tina' with Screenshots

Installing things to partitions is a good safeguard against corruption: If something gets corrupted in another partition, the partition in which you installed your OS to will likely be safe (assuming your HDD is not physically damaged in some way).

In order to use Yumi in the first place, don't you need to have Windows running on your computer? I thought it was a Windows executable, not a grub thing. (I could be wrong, though. I use Mac, not Windows.) So do you still have Windows installed on your computer? Thus, are you trying to install Mint to the same partition that Windows is installed on? Because you can't do that unless you wipe away the Windows partition altogether first. It won't install if something else is already there.

I could be wrong, but it really sounds like the Yumi executable is running on Windows right now, and well, when you're running that program on Windows, it's not going to let you wipe away Windows because it needs Windows in order to work.

Try doing the partition thing I said. I bet you it will let you install the OS that way.

Good luck @bpcyclist. I'm under the impression you have some marvelous tech support in bluebicycle.

I have done a load of dishes today... and hoovered the floors of every room in the house... and I'm rocking to the remixes on U2's re-released War album. That last probably only means something to one other person here but it's got to be included. I also threw together stat cards for a game I'm creating with my son who is studying fine arts/graphic design. And to start the day I went for a 5 mile run. I'm sure it's not as cold as some parts, but it was quite cold here for late March.

I'm still around, in case you cared. I just haven't been up to posting lately. I do try to keep in touch by reading everyone's posts though.

Been a wild day. I don't like the way today has went at all, but there is little I can do about it. I can just pray tomorrow is better I guess.

My days are kind of blending together, which isnt a bad thing. I am still doing xyz cleaning daily ,cooking meals etc

I am going to give our dogs a bath in the next few days.. Our one dog has very short hair and he is so easy maybe 15 mins. The Other? his hair is so thick its almost impossible to find his skin when we apply the flea and tick treatment.. his hair is 3-8 inches long he takes about 45mins to an hour, he isnt thrilled with a blow dryer so it usually takes a full day to dry

Im keeping up with alot of my friends here and on Facebook etc to see how they really are managing life right now.

I did give myself a pedicure today...My feet are happy and my polish is shiney and looks happy

Hope everyone is doing okay during such a difficult time

Hi everyone. I am doing a bit better overall. I am eating better and don't feel as under the weather though I have a minor cough still that seems like maybe it's allergy related (I might have some mild asthma). I am of course situationally upset to see so many people suffering and worried about my loved ones (my dad has been coughing, fingers crossed it's allergies or his asthma) but, I am sort of settling in a bit to my situation and getting into a routine. I need to find more ways to stay connected to people. My niece and nephews have facebook messenger for kids now, just as a way to chat with friends and family since their school is closed. Well, it's quite cute to get little stickers and "hellos" from them throughout the day. I am going to work on my project today that is due the beginning of next week tonight. It's an outside of work thing. While the timing has me stressed, it is going to be nice to be totally done this project which has been ongoing for quite some time.
I will have to go back and catch up on everything that is going on with everyone. Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

Well, the Emsam people called my pdoc's office today. This time my pdoc's secretary found what they have been asking for and realized my pdoc had made errors so she fixed them with a doctor covering for my pdoc while she is off. She was really great about it and I hope that this means things are going to go better than it has looked like. For one thing Emsam called the dr which is HUGE after all the back and forth I've had with them. Maybe they actually have listened to my pleas.

Thanks to spacing the patches way out I have 3 weeks to go unless I start to crash. The one thing that has come from this is that if I am not approved for Emsam I feel more confident that I can ride out my transition period at home. Maybe I'll avoid IP in the pandemic. That would be nice.

I'm still so anxious but at least people are working for me and not just leaving this to my millions of calls. Also if they were going to deny I imagine they'd not bother to contact my pdoc, right?

Last night all this Covid - 19 chaos finally hit me. The anxiety was extreme as I decided who I will and won’t be seeing as my country looks like it’s about to go into lockdown. It is difficult as I usually spit my time between home, my partners, and my parents. My partner and I adore each other but cannot live together full time. He has mental illness too so we can trigger each other. My parents have been my main support through a horror ten years with 35 hospitalisations so it is great for my mental health to stay over their place once a week. My T doesn’t want me self isolating alone. I have decided to isolate from my sister and kids so the only people I would see would be my parents and partner.

But ... I don’t want to be responsible for infecting my parents. Australians have been told that this situation could go on for many months. So I freaked out last night trying to work out what to do and grieving being separated from my sister and kids. I felt so ill.

Today I feel better and plan to talk my options through with my T and pdoc next week. Things aren’t as bad here as they are in the US but I know it could get worse quickly. I just video called my sister and a couple of her kids. It helped. Now I won’t be leaving the house for four days. Resting and studying.

Oh how I hope that they have all the paper work needed to get you right back on the assistance plan! Do they mail meds to you or you fill at local pharmacy??

You are such a strong person You have had the GI stuff for months and months.. Then this crisis of not getting an essential medication Unfortuantly sometimes we do have to stretch our meds to get from point A to B ..

The half life can be so damn annoying at times when getting off meds for a good reason, but that half life can really hold someone together while mistakes like what you have been going through have happened.

We have yet another freaking storm coming my way, hitting tonight sometime The bottom of our driveway finally dries up a bit so that I dont worry about getting stuck and Boom here comes another monsoon and my driveway is a lake again Not that we have have any place to go too anyway

Huge everyone Stay safe and busy
Sorry about the pain and sleep I hope you feel better soon. And the storms are scary of course, I’ll keep you in my prayers if that’s okay.

I’ve been dealing with some insomnia lately too. I forgot how torturous it is since I hadn’t had to put up with it for several years. Tossing and turning, etc. Sometimes meditation helps me though, and keeping my window open for the cool air and train/traffic sounds. Sorry you have to put up with it all the time, I can’t imagine how frustrating that would be

I always wake up and the first 10-15 minutes I'm like ugh I don't feel like doing anything, I'm just going to lay in bed for the day, but later once I'm fully awake my motivation shoots up and I feel good and energized. Plus coffee helps of course.

I have to go to the store today to pick up a few essentials, it's right down the street though so a quick walk there and back, quickly in and out. The weather is nice and warm/sunny so that helps.

Gotta clean my apartment today. Going to spend a few hours doing that then work on some art. Right now I'm studying anatomy to improve my figure drawings. Got a long way to go but plenty of time to practice.

Learned Happy Birthday and Twinkle Twinkle on my ukulele, gonna keep practicing those till they're totally committed to memory.

My sister called yesterday, was nice to talk. She and my family are doing well so I'm glad about that.

Thankful there's a nice area outside the apartments with benches, and some tables, etc places to sit so I can get some sun
