So it ends up I am going to be stepping up to PHP, starting tomorrow... Not even sure the clinic is gonna be open much longer. They are having people over 60 and people with pre-existing conditions stay home now, not sure how long until they just close... I don't know if I'd make it if I didn't have PHP or IOP to go to...

I think it's very important you are open about this. I am very concerned.

I think it may be helpful to think of any/all resources for support during this most challenging time. I get the feeling you might not have a lot of support outside of your programs? Yet, you might have some.

This is the time for everyone to practice/employ the skills learned.
If anyone needs to brush up, the DBT skills are readily available at: www,dbtselfhelp.com

Are any of the professionals involved in your care offering any remote/online services?

Please do reach out! I hope you'll find some degree of support here, as well.

Much Love to you!

After some private discussions with various members, some have learned it is best for them to skip over this entire thread.

Many are dedicated to trying to be supportive in each thread. While this type of "team spirit" is greatly appreciated, please do carefully consider what's best for YOU.

Our other main resource is kinda gone right now. 12 step meetings. There are some that moved to an online format for now but our anxiety is getting in the way so far.

Our T is doing online sessions but we don't see her til Monday. We'll be seeing our pdoc in the office. We can't move to telemedicine with her, at least for some of our appointments, because we take the Abilify shot, so we have to come into the office.

Oh, so some 12 Step meetings are online?

Do you have a PRN for anxiety?
How long have you been on Abilify?

How can you get through until Monday?

Friends? Family?

Much Love

I have propranolol.

PHP today and tomorrow. I have some schoolwork I can work on.

Family is less than supportive.

Friends hardly try to keep up conversation when I contact them and they never contact me to check on me or just to chat, except 1 or 2... And even those, the conversation last all of 2 minutes.

How to attend AA, NA, and other support groups online
I just tried the official AA inter group online and the link was down. So I googled and found this. It may not be the official AA site but maybe it can help. It lists multiple sites for different addictions including NA and anorexia groups.

Thank you so very much! The more resources we identify, the better!

You had mentioned being too anxious in your post above. Does your pdoc know you are distressed by increased stress? I an hoping your doctor will be helpful to you in this regard.

I had asked about how long you have been on Abilify only because many find it anxiety-provoking when they first start taking it. This may not apply to you.

I am very sorry your family and friends are less than supportive.
Many of us are also in this situation with you.

Another potential resource might be to take a look a the available chat sessions here at PC.

Please do check in anytime at all!

Oh I missed the Abilify one... I've been on it for several months now.

@bpcyclist, they're showing up for me, so I can attest to the fact that they haven't been deleted. I know nothing more than that though as I'm not very tech savvy.

Good news, my suicidal ideation has decreased back to annoying habit. I’m back on my meds and I put a deposit on a puppy I will take home on the 31st. I think together they have lifted my mood and I no longer think I need IOP/PHP. I’m attaching a picture just to brag Suicide Discussion Thread - TRIGGER!.Suicide Discussion Thread - TRIGGER!

I do not feel suicidal, but I am still having those self destructive urges. I do feel more organized in my head today if that makes any sense, but that's kinda a bad thing in regards to safety.

Good Morning, spikes,

I am glad you are feeling a bit better in some regards.

Yes, the ability to more clearly "plan" can present an often more urgent situation.

When you have been in IOP/PHP, what types of coping strategies have they taught you to use under these circumstances? More importantly, which strategies help?

They didn't really teach coping strategies. I'm having trouble finding words to explain what they taught, it was more like "go swimming every day" instead of "go swimming when you're experiencing unpleasant emotions." Mine was walking. I go for a walk every day and just got back from mine. One thing they did teach me is to have someone take my meds, keys, wallet away. That would typically be my mom but she's off to work already.

I think it's good they said something along the lines of "go swimming everyday." If you only go swimming when you're experiencing unpleasant emotions, then you will always associate swimming with feeling bad, which does you no good. The idea is to just have a routine that you do no matter what mood you're in, is what I think they were getting at. Walking is a good one.

You could always get a safe where you lock things up in. For example, a safe for your meds. Just give the safe to your mom and she will lock them up. Then you have no way of getting them unless she is home. I mean, this one is literally $13: Robot Check
