I am sure it was a great experience! It is understandable that the heat made you leave the walk.

That's very annoying. I'm so sorry. Is it her age? My mom used to keep her apartment so hot, she was always saying she felt cold. It was hard to be in there...my sister and I used to sneak over and turn the thermostat down.

The recital sounds just adorable. I think the gymnastics class is a wonderful idea, too. I'm glad you enjoyed, despite not getting enough sleep.

The first night I took 1, the second night I took 2. I very much appreciate your suggestion, unlived. I'll try just about anything that's safe at this point.

I feel really sick. I am so nauseated and hot along with the throat stuff. I have a blood test tommorow because I see my trans doctor next Monday. I wonder if my hematricrit is up again. I am honestly wondering if its worth being on my injections anymore. I feel like they are killing me slowly with one medical condition after another. They certainly have not helped my anxiety either. And yeah I still am trans but I just wish I could transistion without the hormones. I've already had the surgery. Its just the meds are really affecting my physical and mental health and I'm just at a loss right now. Basically what set me off tonight is I ate one of my unsafe foods and its driving my stomach crazy but that hasn't happened in awhile. These past few days I was eating all kinds of stuff without an issue. Which is making me think its the hematrcrit. It shot up pretty fast before. I mean people think I'm being silly because I eat Lunchables but its because they don't make me feel like puking the way this homemade pot roast is.

I look back on how I felt yesterday and feel lucky I didn't get really sick. Today I turned on the a/c and a fan at noon. I'll figure out how to pay the bill in June. In the meantime, it's very pleasant in my apartment now. I don't feel all strange and unwell.

This morning I went to the grocery store and bought a big bag of lovely ice, fresh-squeezed orange juice, a lot of bottled waters, and 2 packs of La Croix. Ah, the joy of having plenty of cold drinks!

I have the Giants game on, but they're experiencing a pathetic loss to the Padres. Oh, well...I enjoy the sound of baseball.

Well, time to spend some time on the book business.

Moose - are you okay?

My brother in law met Carrot Top at the airport and they exchanged fist bumps. I feel like with D list celeberitys they would either be friendly because they would be happy someone cared and recgonized them or they'd be jerks because they are D lists for a reason. My aunt got harrased by Richard Simmons at the LA airport back in the 80's. She was by herself with my 2 young cousins and she was most likely very tired and she was giving them twinkies probably they were tired as well and Richard Simmons came up out of nowhere and started yelling at her about unhealthy twinkies were and basically called her a bad parent. That tops the list of "things that sound like they didn't happen but actually did" but I guess Carrot Top was pretty cool to my brother in law.

Christina, how do you steam clean the inside of your house? That sounds intriguing to me.

I'm glad you're not as weepy

Yes my pain is finally easing a bit !

My steamer is by Shark brand. It comes with 2 mop pads. You fill with water and it puts out a lot of steam in front and the mop picks up moisture and what is on the floor so it’s dry.

When I lived in Texas they had a little know program, I can’t recall what it was named. But you could get a special application from the utility company that you had a medical reason for needing AC. Mine was the psych meds that could cause overheating 🥵. That along with being on disability got me a small break in price plus they averaged my utilities so the bill was pretty much the same year round. I’m from Minnesota so in the winter I hardly used the heat. So their averaging the bills was very helpful. Do you think California has something like that?

@Moose72 Yes it is a real product. I bought a can on ebay last Decemeber when it first came out and was only on the mountain dew site and they sold out in 5 minutes. I paid $15 for a can. I thought it wasn't bad to be honest. But I feel like it jumpstarted all my gastro issues.

Now its in all stores for a limited time in 20oz bottles and 12 packs. I have a couple 20oz bottles in my fridge but with this nodules thyroid cancer scare thing there is no way I'm drinking them.

But I mean it wasn't bad when I was drinking it at the time.

If you want a good soda I highly suggest the new dark berry Dr. Pepper.

I got my tattoo! It's still under the clear second skin wrap. I can take it off after 3 days. It bled a bit- I'm on blood thinners- and I think some of the ink bled under the wrap too which is normal but because of that it looks terrible right now. The wrap material was originally designed for burn victims. After the wrap comes off I'm to use Aquaphor ointment- but they were out so I got the store brand. It should be the same stuff, right? The attached photo is a pic the artist took right after she was done. It's my kids' names. Noah drove me to the appointment because it was in an unfamiliar area. I was supposed to just have a consultation but it was an easy design and she had time so I went for it. I may have to call tomorrow to ask a few healing questions- because I heard what she told me when she told me but my memory is blurry. I even had her write details on the after-care sheet but I'm still confused! It's different than when I had my other 5 tattoos and that's the problem. Noah and I got lunch at a local pub after. It was good but expensive. Not more than I've ever paid for a meal but more than I thought. Noah paid and I paid him back. I'm kinda disappointed that the tattoo is as small as it is- I was picturing larger.

I've washed my clothes, sheets and towels this morning. I needed to but I also wanted clean sheets because it's less chance for infection. I also got a shower and managed to do so without the use of my left hand as I was keeping the tattoo out of the water even though the wrap probably would've it the soap out.

So that's my new tattoo story. It's going to take 3 weeks to completely heal and I need to put sunblock on it once it is healed. I need to stay out of the sun until that happens. Wear long sleeves. Good thing that the weather has cooled back down to normal temps for this time of year.

So that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Sorry that the photo is upside down!

Nice work! You and I should both just get a huge N tattooed on our bodies

The store brand should be fine. Just apply the ointment lightly, because ointment can pull the ink out. Have you ever tried Hustle Butter? You can even buy it on Amazon now, so funny. It's excellent stuff. I have a lot of tattoos (somewhere around 18) and I'd love to get more, but I suppose I won't.

All of my tattoos have healed really nicely and have kept their colors well. If you have any questions I can help you out.

If the weather gets too warm to wear long sleeves you can cut off a long cotton sock or the sleeve of a cotton or wool sweater that you no longer wear and use it as a "tube" to cover your tattoo. Just as long as the tube is tight enough to stay without slipping.

That is excellent, because psych meds truly do cause overheating. I will check around to see if there's such a program here. I am signed up for a low-income program, and PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) is in deep shyte because they weren't properly maintaining their equipment, which caused a couple of the massively destructive wildfires we have had. So they're offering all sorts of discount programs.

Several of my meds cause heat intolerance and so I always have water and frozen washclothes in a cooler in my backpack when I do things like this. I didn't bring water because I thought my mom would but that part was fine; I had enough to drink before I was ok until I got water.

But I found my new weird side effect.....Last fall after it wasn't hot anymore I was put on a med called Trospium which is for overactive bladder. I assume this is the cause as I never noticed this before and the pill is the right color....My sweat is yellow. My mask had a ring of yellow around the areas I was most sweaty. I suppose it could be from another med but I've been sweaty in masks before this.

Sometimes I wonder if there is anything meds don't do!

Glad you guys had a good time

Wow that’s crazy about that med causing a color to sweat…

Hope you get a break from the heat soon

I have never heard of Minipress before you mentioned it. With all the meds they've thrown at me, no prescriber has ever suggested that one. Hmm, I think I need to ask.

I’ve taken Minipress before for PTSD and I think it helped slightly. It’s a low dose blood pressure med so it can help someone relax which helps to fall asleep. Same concept as Inderal/Propranolol

Today I went out with friends. We went to a trampoline park and then to a Greek restaurant. Yeah? You could say I’m too old to be playing at a trampoline park but age is just a number and I had a blast! My Greek meal was delicious as well: grilled salmon, pasta salad and roasted new potatoes.

I did not get to my preparation list for Florida this weekend. Oh well! I’ll just have to double up starting tomorrow. The pool opens Saturday. Whoo hoo!!!!

I hope everyone has a peaceful evening. Hugs to all.

Moose… your tattoo looks lovely and has such meaning. All of mine are personal also.

Beth … use the AC !!’ Glad it helped you so quickly. I’ll give up food before I try and suffer half having a heat stroke. Yes check into what Nammu mentioned. I used average billing in Florida to avoid big spikes and it was just so much easier. Hope you have a plan available.

Wild ! Thank you for doing NAMI walk ! Oh I can’t imagine walking in that heat !

Hugs to anyone I have missed my memory is broken today.

Bluebird? Are you okay.

Soupe?! When is your trip ??

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well this month I have been keeping track of every single dime we spend and on what.
Mini rant here… I seldom EVER spend money on anything unless we really need it. Id love just 1 shirt. I only have 2 that fit me well. I mean I don’t go anywhere but still I’d love not to wear the same 2 to see Richard.
But can I ?! No I can’t because we have bills and responsibilities that come before anything else. The last food we ate out was Arbys and I had coupons and we brought our own drinks and ate in the car and that was 2 months ago !
We have no one to help us to get by. We are responsible adults dealing with this inflation that is killing us. We are trying to only go into town twice a month …we combine trips to include grocery, pharmacy and my twice a month appointment with Richard which I may need to cut down to once a month. I don’t even want to talk about the food items I have just taken off my normal grocery lists completely. Earlier this month I was shopping and that Diet Coke looked Amazing but I just couldn’t justify buying it.
I have no choice but to find a part time job. We simply can not survive any other way. So whether I’m in massive pain or not I have to suck it up and do it.
Sorry I just had to get that out *sigh*
It's much, much cooler today. In fact I'm wearing pajama pants and a sweatshirt. Bizarre weather.
Abby is much better. She hasn't wheezed since we saw the vet and she's sleeping comfortably on her cat tree now. So now I just hope it was an allergy and we don't have to deal with this again for a long time if ever.
I'm glad you are feeling up to doing more today.
I did not get to my preparation list for Florida this weekend. Oh well! I’ll just have to double up starting tomorrow. The pool opens Saturday. Whoo hoo!!!!
I hope everyone has a peaceful evening. Hugs to all.
I Hope this works. It reminded me of you. If it is just my words I'm sorry, I don't know what I'm doing.
But can I ?! No I can’t because we have bills and responsibilities that come before anything else. The last food we ate out was Arbys and I had coupons and we brought our own drinks and ate in the car and that was 2 months ago !
We have no one to help us to get by. We are responsible adults dealing with this inflation that is killing us. We are trying to only go into town twice a month …we combine trips to include grocery, pharmacy and my twice a month appointment with Richard which I may need to cut down to once a month. I don’t even want to talk about the food items I have just taken off my normal grocery lists completely. Earlier this month I was shopping and that Diet Coke looked Amazing but I just couldn’t justify buying it.
I have no choice but to find a part time job. We simply can not survive any other way. So whether I’m in massive pain or not I have to suck it up and do it.
Sorry I just had to get that out *sigh*
Oh. Christina that’s terrible 😣 I hope there’s something available that isn’t very taxing. This inflation is terrible. And the car stuff on top of everything else! I think it’s terrible how you and Steve slip though the safety net just because you two were hard working folk who bought their own home 🏡 I know food stamp s are different in every state but don’t they allow people to own a home? Do you have anything there like Ruby’s Pantry? It’s a program for anyone. You pay $25 dollars and get a ton of food stuff. Kind of weird stuff but it’s good. It’s once a month. I went Thursday but was too late. They had too many people and had to turn away people 15 minutes after they opened. Last time I did it I gave half of the food to my daughter cause there was so much. We got three frozen packages of those new sausage links, boiled ready to eat eggs. Bread, two gallons of milk. Two bags of lettuce. And they did have those rice krispy like snack bars but I think that was the only junk food item we got.
