Hi birchtree and welcome!
Please make yourself at home here. The forum has been slower over the holidays.

Hope to see you around!

I haven't caught up on the posts. I've got the creeping crud and am down and out for a while. I got sick Christmas night. Belle got sick, too, but she's better.

I just wanted to let you know we're alive and that I am thinking of all of you and sending you love.

just wanted to let you all know i've been thinking of you. december used to be my favourite time of year: my birthday, my sister's birthday, Christmas (which we all celebrated together as a family even though we weren't religious), winter break, the magic of snow and dark and quiet. it's become one of the hardest now, if not the hardest. my sister passed away a few years ago at 29. my grandpa died just a few weeks ago. and family celebrations became such a nightmare that for probably the last 10 years I haven't celebrated much of anything.

i've been in a dark place. it's hard to see a way out sometimes. and i just get so tired of dealing with it, and at 39 it's hard to envision anything getting much better than this. when that happens i tend to disconnect and withdraw. but i have been thinking of you all. hope the rest of this holiday is whatever you need it to be. happy/healthy/safe/sane new year, if i don't manage to check in in the next 2 days.

Hello all. Like Jan and Belle I've been down with the galloping crud. Spent Friday night in the bathroom. Spent yesterday sleeping in bed or on the sofa. Finally got half a bagel and a cup of tea down this morning. Still have body aches and am worn out. Struggling with depression today. Couldn't take my meds yesterday or this morning resulting in crash.

One of my conditions is called "myotonia." I get severe muscle spasms over my whole body. Often, hands and legs/feet are worst. I am very spastic if I get cool/cold. I am very spastic today. Cannot stop the spasms. taking muscle relaxants. Eventually it may calm down.

happy new year everyone. wishing you all whatever you need this year, and as much of it as you need. i have had a good week for pain and everything. not-so-good with emotional/mental stuff. what a wild year it's been. i'm attempting to return to school this year and could really use some pocket riders, at least for the first day (tomorrow) and maybe even first couple of weeks, if anyone has the energy for pocket-riding i will try to keep my progress with school updated here.

those of you who are sick, wishing you a (hopefully) speedy recovery. it's been so cold here. but from what i saw on the news a couple of nights back, it's been cold everywhere in north america. hoping you all are able to stay warm/safe/sane.

to those who need/want them.
