Cake- how's the headache situation going? Feeling any better today?

Liz- Ripped any heads off yet or are they still attached to bodies? A lot of people would certainly deserve it? I hope you can get a chance to relax and the stress doesn't cause too much pain!

Kiya- How are you feeling? You manage to eat much? Make sure you drink plenty of water and get some rest when you can!

Pierro- How's the pain and depression today? My fibro and metal illnesses all seem to become one when it gets bad too!

Things good or bad or a bit of both?

Is everyone living somewhere that's coming into cold weather now?

I'm sure I forgot people and I'm sorry, I just woke up! So if I forgot you tell me how you are anyway!

Hey Bubbles and Buttercup, I have been better. Along with all the pain my son was admitted to hospital and here I am with almost no sleep and a few more nights to go I think. I just want to go to bed and not get up for a month.. I can't think about things, and that way I am able to cope (sometimes).. I hope you are well. Thanks for asking, it's nice to know someone cares..

Pierro, I hope your son gets well very soon. You will find we all care here in this thread. We are a most caring bunch of peeps! Please continue to let us know how things are going for your and your dear son.

I still have the Upper Respiratory Infection and am running a fever of almost 102 F. I am not ashamed to admit I want my Mom. Of course she died some years ago, but there are times you're so sick, you need her.

Thank you January. I miss my mother too.. No matter how old you are there is a special bond there. My son is doing okay. Steadily getting better, the noise here is too much, but it will pass! I am sorry you are feeling very poorly January. I do hope you feel better soon..

I still have my head ache and every part of my body hurts and I just want it to stop. I was just reading up on fibro I have so many dx's that it doesn't seem to matter any more.

It hurts to walk I have to do force myself to eat plus I am packing up my daughters room. I am so tired that I could sleep for a week but can't sleep more then a couple of hours. Sad.

I hope everyone is doing ok and I hope everyone has a happy and safe halloween

Hugs

Cake

Cake, gonna be very direct here.... let your daughter pack up her own stuff. She's a grown woman! Take care of yourself first dear lady!

Jan and Pierro, I agree about wanting my Mom when I don't feel well. She's been dead six years so it ain't gonna happen, but can still want it.

The last two weeks have been non-stop stress at work. I haven't ripped anyone's head off, but sure have wanted to! Combine the stress with a cold front moving through this week and I'm having the flare from Hades. Pain was so bad during the night it kept waking me up.

Thank heaven for you wonderful folks who get what I'm complaining about. Hugs to all of you.

I agree with you lizardlady. It's great to have you guys who understand the pain and not say, "but you look well". The next person that says that to me is going to be very sorry.. I am sorry that you are so stressed at work. At least you can vent all your anger and frustration here and that will stop you from taking somebody's head off. I hope your flare passes quickly. Day 3 and we are still here in hospital.. It really feels like 3 weeks tbh. * hugs to all*

gonna brag on myself a sec....

There's a hot topic thread in the current events forum right now. Some poster flamed me. I'm still in the frame of mind to rip someone's head off. Instead of flaming the person back I reported the post. Still would like to rip the person's head off, but am pleased with myself that I acted like a rational grown up person!

been real sick.... not keeping food in since... ummm.... the 22nd or before? stopped eating pretty much on Tuesday. just tried some bread today (instead of just broth) and am wishing I hadn't. called doc today - she called in anti-biotics for me, but those usually make my IBS worse (which is already the problem here) so i'm thinking no. Not sure why she's not wanting to do the usual work ups or call in some bigger tests (not that I want them!!!! but might need them....). Unless because I'm Medicare and "Medicare patients are always a financial loss for us".
angry, frustrated, disappointed, disheartened.

Good job Liz

Kiya. I am packing up my daughters room because she has not stayed here in months. While my dad was dying last year she meet a looser of a boyfriend. We noticed something was different with her when we went on vacation for her graduation/birthday. She was real mean and nasty to me. What I did not know was about the boyfriend and that she was saying mean things about me to her dad. I stayed in our room most of the time.

Anyway that summer my husband worked 7 days a week 12 hours days. His company had a deadline that they had to meet. Anyway in September we noticed the change and compared notes. Then she started not coming home.

Her room was a mess with clothes everywhere. My son news a new bed and we had to change the window in his room so he asked for her bed and her room. So I am cleaning it out and it's going to be painted then we can finish his room. The wall that the my new window went into needs to be textured. And then painted.

Some of you know I do embroidery work. I made a bunch of shirts for my uncle and his friends. People stopped them and asked where they could get shirts like theirs. Plus I have had request for my dish towels. So I never took down my sewing table. So once we get Mikeys room fixed up all of my sewing stuff will be moved in there and that will free up my front room.

She is very unhappy about it and feel like we are throwing her out which we are not. Her boyfriend is an $ss. And treats her badly and abuses her. She can always come home. But it looks like I might have to start dialysis so me having my own room is not such a bad idea either.

Oh my gosh, Cake! I hope your daughter gets away from her boyfriend and comes home. I also dearly hope you do not have to start dialysis. Please, please do not over do things. Let Mikey help you. He'd be willing since it's going to be his room.

My Upper Respiratory Infection took a turn for the worse last night. My friend is coming over tonight armed with old fashioned Vick's Vapo Rub, and a vaporizer. I never, never, ever touch alcohol, but I have consented to try a hot toddy. I am afraid, but I've got to do something to help the medicine the Dr. gave me. I also called the Dr's office and asked for a cough medicine I can take every four hours instead of six. I cough for an entire two hours and gasp for breath because my cough medicine only works for four hours. (I hope this isn't too graphic. If it is, please forgive me.)

My Dr. called. I have strept on top of everything else. She assured me that I'll feel better with the antibiotic she's putting me on today. Well, we'll see! Thanks for reading my complaints. It helps to know you're out there.

Hello cakeladie there are a lot of different treatments for sinus problems. Have you looked at any of those. I suffered chronic sinus for years and after my op I have had nothing but peace (from sinus anyway)

Hi! I'm looking for some advice. After about 10 years of issues, I'm starting to think I may have fibromyalgia. I found a quiz that asked a lot of questions, some that didn't really seem to have anything to do with widespread pain. I answered yes to most of the questions. I was in a car accident when I was 19, sprain the base of spine and got severe whiplash. It was like it never really healed. A few years after, I started having pelvic pain and was diagnosed endometriosis and PCOS. But, I don't have all the hallmark symptoms of endo, as in, when I'm not having periods because of pregnancy or nursing I still have pain. I bad headaches, almost 24/7 and I feel like my neck, shoulders and jaw are constantly "knotted up". I also have anxiety and depression, but my anxiety is weird. What I mean by this is I'm fine for a while and then something that really isn't a big deal causes me to loose it a little. I become physically ill, my stomach is so raw. Anything that I see, smell or hear during this time turns into a trigger later. Especially smell, I have so many things I have to avoid. And when I have an "episode" I have a ton of profound guilt for no reason at all. According to a few articles I've found, all of these symptoms can point to fibromyalgia. I'm almost down the line with a lot of the symptoms. Does anyone have any advice? Does this make sense? I feel like every time I try to talk to a doctor about my pain they're going to think I just want pain meds

I know this is the fibro check in thread, but lots of us have CFS too.

I wanted to share a couple of things I saw today about CFS...

I stumbled across a site with information and on-line forums for folks with CFS. I only poked around the forums a little bit, but the folks seem nice. The site is

Phoenix Rising ? A Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and NeuroEndocrineImmune (NEI) Conditions Website

This article
There's a debilitating illness that makes you feel exhausted all the time ? and we know very little about it

has a great description of CFS. What really excited me was that NIH is going to start funding research into the disorder - FINALLY!!! A word of caution. Don't read the comments that folks posted about the article. I came dang close to throwing the monitor across the room! Ingnorant morons in a few cases.

Hello EveDallas and welcome!

You need to search for a rheumatologist that believes in and helps people with fibro. What you've described sounds very familiar to me, especially the part about smells. I have to use fragrance free everything. I can't use the perfumes I used to enjoy so much. Anyway, keep searching for someone who listens to you and believes in what you need. You can always count on us to help you in any way we can. The ladies here are awesome!
