Hoping you get some improvement from your hip soon blueberry, can you get it looked at perhaps?

I’ve bombed on exercise these last few weeks but I decided to go out for a run this morning, early Saturday morning runs are always quite busy around here with lots of people out so I didn’t feel alone. I was good first 5 minutes then felt tired which is absolutely Wednesdays donation, thankfully no more fainting or dizziness since then but it takes a while to regain the blood components and volume.

Mental health wise I haven’t been great, a lot of outside stressors this week and I think not exercising hasn’t helped.

@Discombobulated - Glad you were able to get out this morning. Stressors definitely don't help!

Running will have to go on the back burner awhile for me. My hip hurts less, and now I've noticed I have pulled a groin muscle. My hip had hurt so much, I didn't even notice! But now I do. I looked it up, and geez, it can take a month to heal for the type of strain I think I have which luckily is the mildest. Maybe at some point next week I can start walking again. I hope. I just don't want to make it worse. I'm taking Tylenol & icing it. It's not bad enough that I want to waste money on a doctor and have him or her tell me to rest & ice it. I'll go if at some point it just doesn't heal but at the moment, I don't think it's necessary.

Not yet. Maybe I should? I need to call my sister; she was a physical therapist before she decided to stay home to raise my nieces. She always has good advice when it comes to healing sports injuries.

Its almost 1 and I've had 630 calories of my 1500. Those Starbuck drinks really add up. Both in money and calories. I'm not sure on the rest of the day. I really can't eat much because of my GI issues. I ordered some soup and M&Ms since I can eat those.

When you do couch to 5k do you get to listen to your own music (in my case preferably my audiobook) or do they provide music or something?

Just curious. Hoping to start fairly soon.

The free app I used was the NHS one, you start your own music or whatever and when the spoken bits came on it would fade in and out, it worked seamlessly with Spotify.

I usedthe 10K runner app on my iPhone. It was free when I got it but it may be a paid app now. I could listen to my own music on Spotify and run MapMyFitness (or MapMyRun) while using the running app.

I've eaten pretty good today. I had 1280 calories. I'm doing well with the staying away from unhealthy crap and not getting fast food. I did eat some chips but just a serving. And I had 12oz of bottled coffee.

I tried to walk this morning, but I didn't make it even halfway down the road before I turned back and went home because I still hurt to much. Ugh!

I finally figured I would try to do pilates because I have most of the pain when I put weight on my right leg. I have a gentle beginner's pilates video I like on YouTube and was able to do that without pain, even the leg lifts. I may be a little sore from it tomorrow but hopefully not too bad. It's not walking or running which I prefer but at least it's some exercise and the end of the video is stretching, so that's nice.

My doctor suggested a couple brands of protein drinks today. I had a can of soup with 20 grams of protein and a few pieces of cheese with a lot of protein. I'm not sure on dinner.

I ended up eating about 1480 calories and 118 grams of protein. For dinner I had one of each of those protein drinks with 30 grams of protein each and then my cheese had 36 and my soup had 20 grams of protein.

My carbs are pretty low. My sodium is a bit high but only about 2,350 or so. My goal is to stay under 2300.

I did pilates again today I'd rather be able to walk, but I have to say, this is one frustrating injury & I cannot wait for it to heal! I am a bit sore from the pilates though even though it's a basic beginner video!

Take it easy blueberry and don’t be afraid to skip moves that hurt. I once made my sciatica worse by overdoing yoga.

I didn’t feel it this morning as the wind was gusting and it was a little rainy but went out in the aftermath of yesterday’s bad weather. Unfortunately there was quite a few patches of localised flooding so I had to alter my route, a little less than 5k and I felt it. The leaves have really dropped and blocked the drains hence the flooding, hoping no more comes down today.

Bit the bullet this morning and went out even though the weather was foul again, it was okay but hard work, I think last week’s donation is still impacting. At least the flooding was cleared but there’s more rain coming down.

Did 30 min on the treadmill. Took maybe a week or so off exercising. Idk why. Part of it was lack of motivation and part of it was struggling with anxiety. But I’m glad I’m back to it now because I think the endorphins help my anxiety.

Awesome @Blue_Bird! I have been doing pilates lately though I took today off. I really want to be able to walk and jog again, but I just have to be patient until I heal.

I think I'm eating less but I'm not really sure. We got Burger King for lunch and I took about 3 bites of the burger. But I ate the fries. I'm eating more in the morning and less at night.

I've been drinking this water called Bubblr. It has caffeine in it but only has 5 calories per can. The carbonation is fine on my stomach. That and Spindrift lemon tea sparkling water are helping me kick the soda and coffee habit. I've only had 78 carbs today. Although I could probably use some. I've had 73 grams of protein.

Have you tried The Bridge pose in yoga? I really recommend it and think it’s effective in tightening up your abs without straining the back.

I'm not very hungry today. But I've had enough protein. Maybe too much. I wish I had some take and bake sourdough bread.

I kinda feel like Oprah right now "I love bread!" All I have in my house though is 7 grain Ezekeial. Not the stuff you really want when you have a bread hankering. I did find some take and bake sourdough I put on my shopping list.

Currently today I'm at 765 calories, 104 carbs, and 46 grams of protein.

My mom is going to see the lack of dishes in the dishwasher and say "what did you eat?" Because I've mainly been eating a lot of cheese wedges and drinking protein shakes my doctor told me to drink but not to rely on.
