I've started to do the breathing technique recommended by Wim Hof. I do it lying down in bed to energize myself for the day.
Then I do pushups and crunches. Today I lost count while doing crunches, and I did an extra 10. The breathing gives me strength and endurance to do these exercises. He also recommends cold showers, starting out with 15 seconds of cold water at the end of a normal shower and gradually increasing the time. I just cannot do that, but I can splash cold water on my face, hair, forearms with no problem. __________________ Major Depressive Disorder; Sleep Apnea; possibly on the spectrum Nuvigil 50mg; Effexor 37.5mg Wellbutrin 150mg; meds for blood pressure & cholesterol |

Well my jog didn’t happen this morning, I was on a very rare night out with my colleagues last night which involved some alcohol, and a lot of dancing and singing - I’m therefore claiming the dancing as exercise lol. I was taken aback by how much my colleagues drank! I drank only two small beers and I still feel groggy this morning, no way could I have drunk that much.
So my challenge today is to get a bit of movement into my day. Feeling a little fragile right now though. |

I did a 3.25 mile power walk this morning, stopping at the park to do a few of their outdoor ab and weight machines. I think my abs and obliques will definitely be sore tomorrow!

I've been doing Wim Hof breathing and found that my pushups and crunches are a tad easier if I do them right after the breathwork.

I'm at 1,117 calories, 155 carbs, and 66 mg or whatever of protein. My sodium is pretty bad but my blood pressure is ok today.
I just did 23 minutes on my treadmill while watching TV. I also finished organizing my closet earlier. __________________ I'm Blue Last edited by Mountaindewed; Nov 17, 2024 at 03:00 PM.. |

I did pilates this morning since rain was forecast. I hope to walk tomorrow, but there is a good chance of rain then too, so I just have to wait & see.
Oh, and I vacuumed which is pretty good exercise too! __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. That is how the light gets in. --Leonard Cohen |

This morning I had a good power walk; I covered 3 miles in under 45 min which is a good pace. I stopped at the park to do the ab machines & some arm tension weights. I will probably be sore from that tomorrow! Then, I walked the 0.5 mile home at a slower pace. I wish the weather would cool off though. It was 78F with 84% humidity, and that is a chore to exercise in! There was a breeze but it was from the south/southwest, which any breeze off the Gulf of Mexico is a warm breeze that doesn't help much. I wonder if you burn more calories walking in weather like that? I really don't know.

Hi blueberry! I took racewalking classes taught by olympians in california in the 1980s. At the time they told us that if the heat plus the humidity was over 150, then maybe dont go out. The attachment says 180, so maybe i have a wimpy memory. The pace adjustments in the table would equal work / calorie, i assume. You continue to inspire me. I have become much more active - for me!

I'm at 962 calories, 146 carbs, and 33 grams of protein. And for once my sodium is ok at 878mg. I've started eating eggs again and other stuff.

I did yoga today, got rid of the sugar in my house so I'm feeling very irritable without it. I might do 30 minutes on the treadmill today

Well I had a sore throat over the weekend and I thought it might’ve just been the singing I did on my wild night out, but nope I’m definitely succumbing to my first cold of the season, so I think it’s wise to ditch the outdoor running a while.
Bluebird that’s great you’ve ditched the sugar, I find if I go cold Turkey it’s agony at first but after a week or so I don’t crave it anymore. |

I did pilates this morning, trying to alternate it with power walking. For beginners trying pilates, I highly recomment the Youtube series "Move with Nicole" just google it and to be safe I add beginnger pilates to the search as I am a little chicken to move to intermediate level. Her Youtube feeds are free and she has a knack of making the time pass quickly. She also does not reguire equipment in most of them other than a mat, but if you don't have a mat, I do fine lying on carpet doing the exercises. I want to try walking again tomorrow, if I have enough time; I have to bring my latest rescue stray cat to the vet at 7:45 AM for his neuter & shots.
Today, I finally got a couple x-rays done on the foot I slammed into the door that I really feel things aren't exactly normal in there. It's be great if I'm just paranoid. However, I have this memory of my paternal grandmother who has since passed away. She did something to hurt one or two of her toes in her 30s, could have had it looked at and fixed then but didn't and in her 60s and 70s getting an operation on it was too risky with her other health problems (high blood pressure, heart palpitations, diabetes) that operation wasn't feasible and as she got older it bothered her more and more. She always told me if I had something like that happen to me, I needed to get it looked at when I was young enough and in good health enough to fix it if that was what was needed. A few weeks late, but better to take her advise now than risk issues from it in the future when it's too late to help. My hope is that I'm just being paranoid about it, and nothing will show up. I should have the results in a few days. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything.
