I did 385 reps with my ab roller on carpet this morning. I'm under my calorie goal by 543 calories. We're ordering pizza for dinner so I'll have a piece of that. My carbs and protein are good too.

Today I covered 6 miles, 3 miles power walking and 3.5 miles jogging. Probably should keep resting my quad, but I get impatient. I hope I won't be too sore tomorrow from the jogging this morning. Probably tomorrow will be a pilates day.

I did not for a walk last night, then I did not get enough sleep, then I cancelled personal training because I was underslept. If I am able to take a nap, I will walk tonight. Otherwise it will be a rest day.

Maybe increase protein?

I add whey protein powder to coffee and collagen powder (purely for its protein) to cocoa. It is a very easy way to up the protein intake without feeling that you are eating more.

What brand of protein powder do you use? I know some of the whey protein powders taste gross. I used to use a pretty good protein powder, but this was many years ago, and I forgot the name of it.

I am wondering too ever since I started taking a B complex vitamin, I am losing weight like crazy. But on the other hand, it seems to help extrapyramidal side effects, so I don't want to stop it. I don't know if the B complex has anything to even do with it. But protein powder is a good idea.

I did 550 reps with my ab roller today. My excercise ball is coming tommorow. I had an Atkins shake and a couple flatbread crackers and l had some iced coffee. I might have some sourdough pasta for dinner.

My exercise routine took a backseat with work over Christmas and then a cold which had me feeling grotty, then work again over new year, and first day off this week today so got an early run in. It was approx 6k I think and icy in patches, hovering around freezing, despite wearing gloves I couldn’t feel my little fingers for the first 15 minutes or so then my circulation must’ve got going and I was okay. I prefer cold weather running to hot but there’s that period before the blood flow gets going when it hurts!

Anyhow I’m happy my two week lay off didn’t seem to harm me. Pondering a half marathon this year - I’m in two minds about it.

Unfortunately I do not lose weight on B vitamins.

I use Nutricost whey protein isolate powder Unflavored which is truly neutral. Otherwise I hated protein powderes' yucky taste in the past, too

I also use Garden of Life grass fed Collagen peptides which were recommended by a registered dietitican.

I did 30 minutes on my minibike last night and didnt even get out of breath. On my former beta blocker, 20 minutes would do me in. I have been on the new one for over one month now and havent much exercised. Just FEEL like a weight has been lifted over this month. This is EXTREMELY hopeful. I am feeling like i could be normal, instead of having all these ridiculous obstacles stacked against me. Which - i am hearing it - sounds like my childhood carried over into adulthood.

I didn't workout today. I slept in late. I did run a couple errands instead of just staying in bed. I had a lot to drink but I'm still in my calorie goal.

I took a 6 mile power walk this morning. No jogging, some days my quad hurts more than others. I really need to give it a complete break to heal, but I'm too impatient...sigh.

@Discombobulated - That is an awesome run! I hate when my fingers get so cold like that, even in gloves. I have Raynaud's in my fingers and once they get cold, they just don't warm up, and it is SO painful.

I ordered protein powder and new blender bottles for protein shakes and I also got several boxes of protein pancakes (Kodiak cakes), some sugar free maple syrup, flax seeds, peanut butter powder (PB Fit), and decaf coffee. And some greens powder so it’s like you get your veggie servings you can mix into a smoothie. The decaf coffee is just to keep my caffeine intake to a minimum. I’m also doing a grocery store order today. Lots of good healthy foods. Boneless skinless chicken thighs, eggs, whole grain bread, bananas, a large bag of frozen berries, Brussels sprouts, frozen peas, 3 packs of lean ground beef, cheese, peanut butter, lots of other stuff to make several different types of dinners, plain greek yogurt. Yeah lots of good stuff.

So that’s my big grocery order in attempt to start eating healthier/more balanced. My main goal is to cut out sugary sweets. Which I got none of.

A lot of times when I’m anxious I struggle to eat so that is why I got the protein powder and protein pancakes. Those are easy meals that are easy to eat that have a good amount of protein in them without stressing myself out trying to eat more complex stuff when I’m anxious, and so I don’t default to eating my comfort foods of pastries.

I also got a motivational water bottle. I’ll post a pic in a second.

I’m not exercising right now because I’m sick at the moment but hope to get back to it next week

Okay here’s the pics of the water bottle and the shaker bottles

Motivational water bottles are great, I got my husband one last year, he’s definitely improved his water intake through it and he was advised medically to up it. Good luck with your health goals bluebird.

Raynauds sounds tough blueberry, my mum has it and I think I have a slight touch but not as severe as you get.

It was freezing point again this morning with ice patches but I could avoid them and did the same route as yesterday. Saw lots of other runners when I was out, and two women said good morning which was nice. It’s funny and nice how runners sometimes have camaraderie! I used to say hello or wave but I got tired of being blanked about half the time but I do reply if people speak to me.

Tiring towards the end of the run but glad I did it.

Awesome running @Discombobulated ! I don't know how you manage to run in such cold weather all the time! It's going to get cold here, lows near or at freezing, which would be the first freeze of the winter for us this year. It's supposed to warm up during the day quite a bit, but I usually start walking when it's still dark, which means it will be pretty cold out. May have to stick with pilates a few days until it warms up again.

Those sounds like yummy healthy food sources @Blue_Bird! That water bottle looks fantastic. I struggle with my water intake too. It's just so boring. I've been adding lemon and lime to my water lately, and that has helped some. I know water intake has so much importance to overall health and energy, but it is so hard for me to get adequate intake.

I took it easy today and did a gentle pilates video since my quad was bothering me last night. It felt better in the morning today, but I didn't want to push it. I'm also a bit tired as I didn't sleep that well last night.

I'm noticing a difference today in my hunger. I had a pouch of Starkist tuna and an Atkins shake for breakfast. I've also been sitting with my hunger and even my thirst and not snacking non stop or drinking soda like I normally do.

I'm wondering if the metformin has slowly started working.

How can maple syrup be sugar-free? I love its taste and limit it to a bare minimum because it is basically sugar. I am curious to learn if you can get the same taste in a sugar-free version.

I have also read that it is not true that greens powder is a servings of veggies because the fiber, when blended, doesn't work like the actual fiber you eat (say, Brussels sprouts and peas on your shopping list are awesome sources of fiber). You probably get micronutrients, though. So, I guess, it partially counts as a veggie serving for micronutrients but does not count as fiber. I know a lot of people put spinach into smoothies, but then again, when pulverized, it does not count. Also, I have read that spinach is absorbed better cooked than raw. I make soups with a lot of spinach, plus beans, plus Parmesan cheese, plus mirepoix and chicken broth – very tasty and can post the recipe. Put one huge bag of washed spinach leaves into a 6 liter/quart pot and make lots of soup and then eat it all week long. Does not take much time and is a complete meal: beans for protein and carbs, spinach and mirepoix for veggies, Parmesan for more protein and fat.

Finally went to the gym for 38 minutes on the recumbent bike yesterday. Was not hard cardio-wise but did so some incline, so my muscles felt that they were working. And, sore today on the left side where I had injury 3 months ago.

Today, went to Yin yoga.

Tomorrow, will go to the gym again.

I will try a little every day. Not going to the Olympics, mind you, but something every day.

Also, was happy to see that my weight went down a couple of pounds. It is still higher than pre-injury, but the trend is right.

Look I’m having a bad day right now. I’m just aiming for better than what I have been doing which is bingeing on sweets all day everyday for the past several years. I’m not aiming for perfection. As far as maple syrup goes idk it’s some sort of maple flavored sugar free syrup.

Oh I see. Sugar-Free Stevia Syrup, Maple, 12 servings
– SweetLeaf(R)
- something like this? I will try it if I find a small quantity and not this wholesale lot.

I did not mean to negate your choices. Plain Greek Yogurt is one of the best foods, protein shakes, brussels spouts, lean meat, peas, flax seeds, most other things - your shopping list was amazing and yes, close to perfection. I just mentioned that the hype surrounding "green smoothies" is not rooted in science and that the foods you actually bought are much better than greens powder.

It is probably the kind of powder Andrew Huberman has been peddling on his podcast, but his claims (not just greens powder but most supplements he peddles) have all been debunked. Which did not make his podcast any less popular.

Thank you and I’m sorry I didn’t mean to snap at you , I’m just having a rough couple days. I was sick for a few days and now I’m struggling with insomnia and a close friend went missing yesterday so I’ve just been a mess overall

Yeah I think that maple syrup is what I meant

And yeah there is a lot of hype around the green drinks. I do tend to watch a lot of influencers on YouTube so I tend to get influenced in trends lol

(((Bluebird))) I find January one of the toughest months in lots of different ways. As I get older I’ve become a firm believer in just doing what I can. That is, it might not be perfect but it’s a step in the right direction and that’s all that counts. Keep on keeping on

I've had 1,405 calories. I have 133 calories left according to the Lose It app I use. I did 540 reps with my ab roller. I might do more.
