I was thinking about the differences in some families - where the boys (sons) get preferential treatment over the girls (daughters). My family is like that, which I call male chauvinism, even if the women practice the double standard with their sons or the Dads' too.

It is revealing to many men when they see how much a woman is capable of, and does, and how often their needs are slighted, or pushed aside, for the mans need, a man no less that might have a whole entourage of people taking care of his needs...yet the wife, or sister, or daughter, get little in comparison.

I hope your GF has all the support she needs from her family and enjoys the speediest of recoveries.
She has you, and that is surely batting 1,000!!!!

ahhhhh??? daddy Butthead wants me to join him out at farm for another load of wood for us . We use a woodstove for major heat source here . Cheap compared to electric.

But , Seneator Byrds' office called Donna today to let her know they are going to send a Release form for her to sign so they can ask what the hold up is with her disability claim .. I suggested to her yesterday to call Cancer services and see if they had any pro - bono lawyers on there staff. Next thing [ today ] A Senators aid calls ... Reckon Cancer Foundation peeps do alittle lobbying At State Capital Here.

That is wonderful. Sounds like she has people behind her that she didn't even know were there! Sweet!

Byrd is there to be of service to all of his constituency, so that was useful to go right to his office for what needs to be properly handled and put through expidiciously.

The usual red tape can cause many to slip thru the cracks - thank goodness you called an office that can clear much out of your way, and you know, most of these people really want to help, once they know of your circumstances.
The Dems are the ones that construct the aid programs for us in our health and disability situations. It's the best part of that party. They believe this is their most important cause, and it is.

Andddddddddddddddddddd.... I found more of a reprieve,,,,, LOL . Not paying the phone bill on time >>> sent payment in , but phone not on yet . LOL .. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!

No calls.

But now Donna has surgery wednesday ,,, bunch of pre op consults Tuesday ,,, And Cousins and Family have to come by to see her and share tears in person .

Friend I work for gave me her cell phone so I not totally out of touch if need be > Sshhhhhhhhhhhhh . LOL.

But it is nice ,,, no phone ringing ,,, and we can relax and sit quietly and know >>>>.

I will be keeping donna and you in my prayers hon.

I wish you and Donna the best. I will be thinking of you both on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I know what you mean about not having the phone to worry about ringing! It is nice to not have people calling asking for money or trying to sell ya something!

Let me share a little insight into these family peeps :
Donnas' 1st cuz is a re-tired ER. nurse and more than capable of helping with dressings and drain tubes ,,, but,, she wants Donna to come to her house [ very affluent / upscale ]...... Anyhow ,, Then cuz says I can come over and spend as much time as I like >>> LOL.

Sounds good so far , huh?......... Albeit Donna would have to go up and down stairs from questroom to kitchen ,, not have her Dogs and cats nearby ,,, and me being over there would leave our animals alone . >>>. Some peeps would say ,, So?

Now the real scary part >>. Donnas' Dad has always said ," If Donna would just get rid of her dogs and cats. " [ ages 10 yrs. 9 yrs. & 3 yrs. 2 cats >> 11 yrs. and 5 yrs. ]

So ,, ya ,, I be over at cuz's house for a period of time ,, and we not trust Dad to have animal control to come over and have animals removed ,,, and oh twell , Donna would get over it ??? That is how little we trust that Butthead!!!

This past week we re-arranged and cleaned up the front bedroom ,, so Donna can stay in her own house ,, see her animals .. Watch TV from her bed into the frontroom.
I'll just have to get use to changing dressings and learn how to clean and sanitize drain tubes .. [ I can see my own injuries ] . But ,, IT IS A DAMN SHAME ,,,, this is how little we trust her kin.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wm hon they more than likely will have a home health nurse come out a few times a week for a period of time for the dressings and tubes to be changed. although it isn't very hard to do. you will do just fine hon. that Donna is one lucky lady to have you. please keep us posted on her. give her my love and big hugs.

I did a funny thing today ...

Since all her family figured I would be there for all her pre - op appointments >>>>>..........

It's Like THIS ,,,, Donna is the one ,,,,, ,,, that is going through this . She is the one that might would rather be left to her own thoughts ...
Have her own questions , That are most important to her !!!!!!!!

Not what collectively as Her Family ,,,,, BUT HER .

I mean ,,, She is the only other person that will be in that O . R . sooooooooooooooooo,,,,,[ well , other than the Surgeon peeps and support peeps .

In case ya not quessed yet ? I stayed Home .
And amazingly ,, with no outside distractions ,,, She was able to express herself as she wished to be heard .

AND SHE IS ,,,>>>>. More Relaxed .

I'll wait till she wakes up groggy ,,, LOL , And tell her while she was under ,,,,, WE GOT MARRIED ,,,,, hehe.

They have a compo now in the waiting area >>>>. No one seems to be standing in line for it.

Just waiting for Her to be wheeled into recovery .....Probabley in a hour and a half now .

Darn cafeteria didn't have fries today ,,>>. I kinda wanted a salt fix.

hon how are YOU doing? any news yet? my thoughts and prayers are with you and donna right now. (((hugs)))

I usually like To do personal answers to replies ,,,, Forgive me for doing an in concert one this time ,,, .

While Donna was in Recovery ,, Pops' and I went to have an early dinner at local resteraunt he likes..
Earlier we had been talking about My intrests as to Catering / resteraunt bizz. Ya know ???? Killing time so to speak .

As we were going to eat ,, he drove ,, and I told him that His help and that of other family peeps will be returned in kind . I know most will not want to be re-paid ,,,, That I KNOW. As with him tho ,, I let him know that It would be best we get him paid back ... And He was like .. " That would be Good " He explained it like in a way that was >>> It will be there for you all again .... So I think He has more of a prob with having help others that never really >> even with good intent >>> Didn't take care of obligations in the past ... And If I give him the benefit of the doubt ???? Once bit , twice shy .

I may not be the Brightest bulb in the lamp ,,,, But give me time to see and focus on the between the lines thing .......???? I've always come through the storms , and set the sails to catch the winds of a Calmer sea and directing tides . In other words ,,,,, Maybe If I share more truths as to Donna and I and our Love as it is Never ending ,,, but able to bend in hopes that maybe others will find their own Hearts and Care place that can never surrender to the trials that life throws at all ,,, not just once , But many times in a lifetime.

It is just where you return to the Calmness of The Seas of Life. That are the Rewards ,, That warm the HEART .

Oh ,,, LOL ..................... hehe,,, errrrmmmmmmmm .. Donna ,,, after 30 mins. awake from post op .... She was hungry and eating a grilled cheese sandwich and soup and crackers .... And First Cuz LuAnne brought a chocolate shake ,,, and when I called Donna to wish her a pleasent night ,,, and not to try to do to much >>> She was waiting for some meds and Milk and cookies >>>>. That was all covered .

Don't believe I ever mentioned ,,, Donna one TUFF Little Nut . But hey ,,, ,, she gets that from ME !!!!

And I get My >>>>. ,,, From HER .

That's GREAT that she was eating so soon!!! I hope you are less stressed now...at least in regards to the surgery.

Yes, It sounds like she really is tough and I am positive she gets it from you, like you say.

You keep yourself rested so you can help her recover.
