Plausible, but I suspect it is a propaganda pic.

They always leave an office vacant for exactly that purpose.
Did it save your marriage?

It really helped me at the time. It pulled me back from a really bad place. I wouldn't want to have an impact like that under those sorts of circumstances. I do think she knows how to look after herself and she has a very busy full life by the sounds of it. I'm sure she'd come back from it. She's always said she loves her job. It was huge that she would say something like that. It was some time back...a couple of years. I was too afraid to ever bring it up again because I always thought she'd retract it altogether. I think she probably would too. I'm really not certain how much she meant of it either. I really don't think she feels that way anymore. But it was nice to hear, just that once.

Yes.

Most of the emotions arising from therapy happen between sessions, when you can't talk about it.

Thanks for understanding. She's not the type who says things like that, so that's why the very occasional thing like that really stands out. That's also why I think she'd take it back. I also imagine she'd quite possibly have no recollection of thinking or feeling that way, and that would be really sad. She did seem to mean it at the time. She was telling me really practical stuff. What would happen to her as a result of my actions. Inquiries, questions, her career in question. Which actually didn't seem insensitive at the time at all. It helped me to be really practical about it. I was still sad and said the only reason she'd be sad was because of the paperwork and she corrected me and added in that statement. I'm sure these days she'd correct me and tell me she could look after herself, that she'd be sad, but get on with life. All the normal things. So I'll just hold on to it...but I don't think I'll ever mention it again.

Nightlight, this might be a stupid suggestion, but could you see another T for a session or two to talk about what is going on with your T? Getting an outsider's perspective is always good - and we have your back, here, but it's different with friends. And another T might bring insight and maybe advice on what you could do.
Thanks for this!

Thanks Apt. That is a possibility. I don't have a lot of money for therapy...but I would consider it. It's just so hard. Talking to someone I don't know is so hard for me too. It makes me feel totally insane to get therapy for therapy too! If things keep going badly and there was a hope of fixing things somehow, then I would get an outside perspective if I could.

Yeah, I know what you mean about having a hard time talking, and the weirdness of getting therapy for therapy. Not sure if I would do it myself. But it's something I've seen other people on the forum mention doing, which has helped them.

I've never thought the idea was all that crazy in terms of what other people have done to save a solid therapy relationship...but when it actually comes to me doing it myself, it feels ridiculous. Then again, if therapy ended like this, instead of linking things to my past...I imagine it would be a long, long time of me processing this current loss...and that would be the new way I learned to move forwards with life, by accepting this huge loss. I'd finally got so attached to one person and then she vanished. Bad stuff all over again. I really don't want that either because that feels ridiculous too...but I'll bet I'd struggle to focus on anything else for such a long time.

Good morning, everyone. Looks like I missed a lot on the couch last night. Glad you all had fun.

I've got a lot to do today but I'll be here off and on-see you all later.

Gotta go get my glasses fixed, cleaning my bathrooms, grocery store, book store, going out to dinner-all before the snow starts.

Good morning all... h and I took the girls down to the beach this morning...it was too cold to walk so we drove our lazy asseses. lol...snow on the beach is always weird. It's 9° f, but at the shore it feels -13° with the wind chill. Here's a pic. I thought it had the girls in it, oh well...

Morning all....
It's snowing and roads are slippery here... joy.
Afriend posted something on FB that is totally triggering me right now. I am desperately trying to not start an argument on his wall. Ugh.
I am going to go shovel and maybe burn off some of this anger and frustration....
