oops didn't see the new couch so copied and pasted this here from the other couch

omg had horrible dreams last night about being kidnapped as a kid by some guy and i had killed someone and he had me in public and no adults did anything to help me and i didn't do anything to get away either he left me at a table alone to get some food.and there were a bunch of adults around who did nothing to help me .i then decided to run .but was seen by the guy who kidnapped me and he chased me with a gun but no one would help. i lost him and went back to this park and all the adults had gone away. except as i was trying to leave the park i was continually attacked by different guys and i was screaming.that finely woke me up. believe me there was a lot more .but it is all scrambled up. it was like this dream went on and on all night. it was horrible and has left me feeling the same this morning. i know it was just a dream and all but wow. i think it is coming from that session i had the week before las when we were talking about all the people in my life i felt were kind to me and how i see them and most people in life as horrible at most and indifferent at best. i wanted to talk to my T about this and how with all these nice people in the end no one ever helped me until later in life when i felt it was too late . anyway just a bad dream no big deal.

Oh, Granite..that is so scary. Just tell yourself that you are awake and safe. But, please print out this post so you remember to tell your T about this dream..it has a lot of hidden meaning, it seems. It would be good to explore it. You are safe now, nobody can hurt you. Hugs

Good morning couch.
Granite

I wanted to take a nice long walk this morning. But, it's 35 degrees and rain is coming in. Walking would be a bad idea I think I know I should exercise today but doing videos in my basement is so boring.

Good morning couch.. The morning is not starting out how I would like, but whatever. I am heading into town to make a bunch of stops. Errands, errands, errands.. At least I don't have to bring my kiddos

Looks like I will be heading to church by myself tomorrow.. I have no clue where to go, I feel weird not going with my family. I was thinking of trying out something totally different than the churches that I have been in.. I am thinking a episocpial church. We'll see. Meeting a friend after church for lunch, looking forward to chatting, but she is a friend from the church that I am leaving and I know that she doesn't want me to leave so I know we will end up talking about that. Anyways.. off I go! I hope you all have a great day!

You should listen to whatever your doctor said with regard to real/whole eggs, but I personally think they have gotten such a bad, unnecessary rap with regard to cholesterol.

I think natural/whole/unprocessed is better 99% of the time.

Eggbeaters/white products are okay, and I've eaten them a lot, but I would go with whichever has the shortest list of ingredients. Probably the whites.

I can never seem to catch the couch when it begins, and then I can't catch up! But since I'm seeing it now, I'll try!

Granite, don't you have kitties? If so, buy whole eggs, and give them some of the raw yolks, and you eat the whites. Never give them raw egg white because it leeches the biotin from their bodies. My ferals love the yolks, and I often mix in a little nutritional yeast, and cat milk. They sing for it!

I am not saying don't listen to a dr. if you believe them (which I never do - but I realize others find them useful), but I also think fear of eggs has gotten out of hand, health experts do not agree, and it makes money for the manufacturers of replacement foods. I would think it better (and even possibly cheaper) to separate eggs yourself and eat the whites and throw away or do something else with the yolks. When my partner went on an egg white thing, I gave the yolks to the dogs or used them in cooking or in making a face mask and so forth. My cats would not really eat them much - sometimes they licked at them and then walked away and mewed at me for something else. I shall have to try mixing them in better with something else the cats like.

Granite, personally, I'd go with egg whites. Eggbeaters are egg whites, but they add onion flavor, colors, salt and some ingredients for texture. Plus, they're an expensive way to buy egg whites.

Good morning, couchies! I hope everyone has a good day.

Granite - I'd agree with the others on the eggs. If you can, use real eggs and separate them yourself. You can buy an egg separator that makes the job much easier than tossing the yolk between the shells. And if you can, try to get eggs from pastured, free-range chickens. It's just my opinion, but the nutritional value of those eggs is far superior to the mass produced eggs.

Hey, quick question, I have rehabbed a couple of starved cats and tamed two feral youngsters. I usually beat up the whole egg, add the powdered kitten milk stuff and a little water. Is it bad to be giving them the whole egg and not just the yolk?

Also, if you're not squeamish, it's much easier to use your hand to separate the eggs. Crack the egg and just ease it into your hand. Hold your fingers slightly apart and the white just slides on through into the bowl beneath. Easy -peasy.

********-Granite...sorry to hear about your dream...I usually wake up exhausted from those types of dreams...

unfortunately there are lots of people who don't realize that dreams do not mean what literally happened and they talk about them as if they equate to real life... ma789n*+876y(sorry that is a message from my kitty) maybe that is what your H was doing.

Granite... sending lots of hugs your way..

(((( granite ))))

What a horrible dream! Your interpretation of it sounds like it certainly had something to do with triggering the dream. I do hope you can talk to T about it, because I'm sure there's a lot of valuable information there.

And I'm sorry your H was not supportive about it. My exH was not very sensitive unless there was something in it for him, blech.

Have fun in Atlantic City, Jersey! I've lived in NJ all my life and I've never been in an Atlantic City casino. I've been on the AC beaches ONCE for the air show and didn't even realize I was in AC (we were staying in Ocean City). And my exH took me for a drive through AC at night while we were dating to see the impressive casino lights, but we never got out of the car.

I'm going to work on doing some cleaning and laundry today. Tonight, I'm going on an overnight exclusive investigation with my team. I'll be one of the core leaders, woot woot.

I have a TON of things planned for the next week, so I'm hoping the migraines don't hold me down.

MKAC. for a healthy adult cat a couple of whole eggs a week, along with other good food, isn't a problem. But for a kitten or a compromised cat, I think no egg white is better because they're already deficient in B vitamins. I also like to add a tsp of nutritional yeast (cheap at a food co-op or from iHerb) because of the extra hit of B's. And they love the taste--sort of chicken-y.

Thanks for feeding the furries!

Granite - I meant to write this earlier, but Wiki's advice on stepping down on sugar added to things is sound. I've used that method twice now. Once to stop adding sugar to my coffee and now to stop adding sweetener to my oatmeal. Now all I add to my oatmeal are some raisins and fresh friut. That's enough sweet for me.

Also, I don't know much about how fruits affect blood sugar levels, but I found a recipe for oatmeal muffins that use bananas in place of oil and sugar. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks interesting and definitely would not have the paste consistency of cooked oatmeal

It was feeding the strays and taking them into be neutered/spayed that landed me with 8 cats at one point in my life (I did not intend for them to come live actually with me, I just wanted them to not have more kittens). Luckily for me (and for my certain future of being known as the crazy cat lady) right now I don't have any strays around my house that I know of. My two dogs adore cats and let me know if any are anywhere near the yard. The neighborhood cats (belonging to other people) are not always as eager to have dog friends as my dogs are to have more cats.

Morning...I am just waking up. Took some medication for sleep, and boy did I sleep. That on top of lots of potassium late yesterday has eliminated most of the prednisone pain. Yay.

Granite...sorry about the dream..Ick awful. I think printing it out for t is a good idea. Also, I dreamed a good dream last night about you. We were making Christmas cards together. I was just writing nice things in my best penmanship and you pulled out all these puffy inks and did all this cool scrollwork, and glued fabrics and things. They were gorgeous. So I ended up saying "I'll just lick the envelopes" lol. We had fun chicky. It was a nice dream.

I told myself since I resisted three opportunities to eat fast food this week and did not eat the doughnut I was offered at work this morning that I could make dessert. I would switch the butter to extra virgin coconut oil and flax oil (or maybe even pb), the flour to whole grain flour and flax ground up really smooth. Milk to almond milk. Chocolate chips to dark chocolate, or even cacao nibs. I'd have to mess around with it to get the texture right though.

Granite, definitely egg whites.
