That is so cool Mast. I would like to learn how to restore and repair books.

I think the idea of "achievement" is a big part of the problem.
You don't have to "achieve" to have value.
If you want to be happy, don't read books with "underachievement" in the title!

Thanks, CE. The purpose of the book is to help one see the ways they get stuck and to help them become unstuck. I'd imagine, though, that it'd be worthwhile for me to see how I can become unstuck. I used to be such a go-getter and something is holding me back from having the energy and courage to move forward. Something has to change before I hit the train that's headed in my direction. Denial is no longer working. I'm hoping this book will at least give me some awareness into my issues so I can take steps towards change.

Unfortunately, I realize my health issues are a huge obstacle. I'm not sure if that's addressed in this book, nor am I sure of how to overcome that.

MUE - there is a blogger who is a therapist, her blog is What A Shrink Thinks (I think she is annoying) and she writes about having migraines so bad that she would leave appointments to throw up and then come back. But in one of her posts (possibly more) she talks about some of the things that have helped reduce them. Have you read her? According to her contact page, she does skype appointments.

Pain/Full « what a shrink thinks

Thanks, SD. I actually subscribe to her posts. I find them quite drawn out and useless at times, yet other times, interesting. I did read the one about migraines but that was quite some time ago and don't recall anything standing out to me. Thanks for the link, though. I will definitely go back and re-read it in case there was something there that I didn't pick up on.

I heard back from the woman who does bodywork, and she said that I could call her and she would give me information about the type of work she does, etc. *sigh* I was hoping to get the info by email to avoid having to talk about this stuff.

I guess I will give her a call on Monday if I can find some privacy.

I also find her posts meandering and her approach highly annoying, but I thought perhaps she might have some ideas about pain (either in the blog or if you could contact her) that could be useful.

I just went back and read it. The understanding and relatedness was comforting. It looks like we've taken similar paths when it comes to treatment, although I am curious to know what preventative medication and emergent medication she found effective. She gets botox treatments, and I do as well which have been very helpful. I may reach out to her. Good idea, SD. Thanks!

I fell asleep on the couch and woke up when my phone started playing a ringtone indicating that I received a text. Why on earth did my niece text me at nearly 2 AM asking what my plans are for Sunday? I didn't respond, but damn, I hate it when my phone wakes me up. I keep it with me as my alarm clock and keep the ringers on because I'm usually on-call for work.

On the other hand, I'm kinda glad I woke up because I was in pain and the TV was on too loud, keeping me from sleeping soundly. This at least gives me an opportunity to get some movement and blood flowing before falling back to sleep, if that happens.

Good morning everyone...Happy Saturday.

No dreams last night, thankfully. It's another rainy cloudy day today. We were going to drive out to Providence to see my tiny niece, but my nephew called and told me she has to go in for surgery. A colostomy. Poor tiny itty bitty little girl. My heart breaks for them.

We wanted to get out and paddle today too, so hopefully it will clear up.

I hope everyone has something good happen today.

Morning couch.

I fell asleep on the couch last night only to be woken up at midnight by somone knocking on my door (I fell asleep with the living room light on, so I guess they thought I was still awake). I ignored it at first because I didn't know who would be knocking at midnight. Then they knocked again, so I looked out the peephole and saw it was somone I recognized as living in my apartment building and decided to answer. It was one of the new neighbors (my old ones moved out a couple of months ago and these ones moved in about a week ago). I open the door and she was in tears. She was upset because her husband had been gone for a really long time and wasn't home yet and she lost her phone the other day so she can't call him. She asked if she could use my phone. I let her. Turns out her husband ran out of gas and was on his way home. She looks young (maybe late 20's to early 30s), nice to have neighbors around my age now.

No cleaning for me today...I have to work at the senior place today. But, I have off tomorrow instead, so I can tackle cleaning then. A day later isn't going to hurt.

Lola, I hope you had fun with target practice.
Mast, the books look awesome.

Anyone else I forgot...hello.

Well, I'm hungry, so I should probably eat breakfast. I might pop back in before I have to leave for work.

I hope everyone has a good day.

wow..only 3 posts so far this morning!

My only plan for today is to grocery shop, do first round of laundry and to get my hair cut.

I also need to work on putting somethings for sale on Craigslist and Ebay.

I've been having some of the weirdest dreams... I've decided to keep a log...

last night I had 2 memorable dreams:

one dream was that me and 2 of my sisters was staying in a hotel and I didn't know there were adjoining rooms and my sister came in through the adjoining room door and it scared me and I yelled at her... then when we woke up in the morning I was wondering who was going to be take out the dogs (it looked like my sisters dog but in the dream there were 2 of them exactly the same) and then when I looked at the other bed in the room it was covered in all of these miniture kittens... (you know like 12 week old kittens but shrunk down to like 2 week onld kittens).... then I look over and the dog is pooping on the carpet. then I wake up...

the next dream I had was that I was somewhere and I woke up to hearing my on sister beating my neice... oddly in my dream I could see nothing but somehow I knew it was my sister and I thought why would you beat an 8 year old so badly... (except my neice is 15)... weird weird weird.... I couldn't go back to sleep after that...

Hi! We were up and out the door early to go out to breakfast at our favorite breakfast place. We do it every year around my b-day. It is sooooo yummy! But also, very expensive! That is why we only do it once a year. We are home and the rest of the day will be used to clean the house and for me to work on school stuff. I hope you all are having a good weekend so far!

Lola- I hope them moving is going well. I am here for ya, if you need to talk!

Oh- I had a T dream last not that is rather bothersome. I quiet frequently dream about T. However, this one.. ugh.

In the dream, I had called T because I was having a hard time with something (not sure what) and needed to talk to him. So, T called me back and instead of letting me talk he said something along the lines of "Healed, I can't believe you are having a hard time, I am was just looking over the notes from our last session and I was so impressed with your progress, that I am recommending you space your appointments out." He continued to talk, and refused to believe that I was actually have a hard time. So, the whole time I was on the phone, I didn't get to tell him what was wrong, and he scheduled me for every other week appointments instead of every week.

I woke up from the dream disappointed, lol.

Wiki - ive heard they do those colostomies in nicu but they are temporary. Doesnt make having to have the surgery any better, but maybe knowing it's a common procedure helps?
