Oh, SD.. I have felt warmth from you before. You may not be as prickly as you think

So, brought my daughter to costume pick up for The Nutcracker.. T's daughter has many roles in it so I suspected to see his wife and D there.. But, when I got there I saw his vehicle. I walked in, and the poor guy looked sooo out of place. I have never seen him feel more unsettled. Turns out, his wife volunteered to help pass out the costumes and signed T up to help. The thing is, girls come in, find there costumes and are trying things on, etc.. Poor guy. He didn't last more than a half an hour. He walked out of the studio into the waiting area, and said I don't know why I am here, my wife said to show up. LOL.. I joked with him and said, I am sure this just exactly how he wanted to spend his Saturday. Can I say, though... there was a little part of me, that was amused to seem him squirm b/c he was uncomfortable.

I have found ios8 to be a bit of the dog's breakfast so far. I am not a fan of it and hope they quickly release an update.

And golly I have resisted posting this, but now I have decided this thread is reasonably safe to do so

Actually I was thinking the same thing lately.... and I found it not unpleasant.... but didn't want to offend by saying so... still don't want to offend, but since BPA picked up on it too, thought I would mention it.

I certainly didn't mean to offend, I was just trying to poke some gentle fun at SD.

I am not offended. I may be worried about myself, but you all did not offend.

And note - you should read the above sentences in a very gruff tone.

Well, surely anybody would find that situation excruciatingly boring and uncomfortable. I would not do that kind of thing if you paid me.

Bit tired of skipping some meals because I'm too anxious to go to the kitchen when other people are there (I only ate dinner and some cookies yesterday and I've already skipped breakfast today). Especially since they think I'm weird because I'm not as social as they want me to be (a couple of them even laughed about it the other day and I hate it when people laugh at me). I have to run some errands in a while, which means I need to leave my room, and I'm even anxious about leaving because there are people in the corridor who will probably ask me why the heck I didn't attend the party yesterday.

Why don't people understand that some people don't find social situations as easy as others do? I mean, even if I didn't have the diagnoses I have it should still be OK to prefer being by yourself. I wish people would understand that it's OK to be introverted and not liking parties etc.

They're more likely to think it's ok if you act like you feel ok about it: "(Laugh) thanks for asking! I'm a hopeless introvert, I think big parties are a little slice of hell" or "big parties aren't my thing."

Try keeping some snacks in your room?
