Yeah I don't need much these days. I'd rather my kids have what they need. If i fell into money, it would pay bills and sit in the bank. Adventurous.

Wake up again. Gah. I'm sleeping awful on my own... Let alone baby waking me every couple hours. Sigh. I wonder when she will start sleeping better.

The 4:30 am wake ups are getting really old! I can't blame the girls, though. It's my bladder and it's more persistent than either one of my kids!

I'd hang with the kids if I were there, cat, so you could take a nap.

Up super early today and been working for the past hour. Already got the coffee going for you all. I hear people say they need an extra day in their week to get caught up; I need an extra year or so to get caught up and perhaps schedule a few days off. :|
Thanks for this!

I need to sleep too! I am thinking about getting some melatonin and see if that helps at all. The mornings are hardest for me, that is when I feel the depression and its hard to get out of bed and think positive about the day. Usually by mid morning I feel a bit better, and then I get home and am busy with the kids. Then night time comes, and the kids are in bed.. and I can think. That is never good.

In good news, I bought a new couch yesterday. The color that I wanted wasn't in stock so probably won't have it for 5-10 business days. Still super excited about that though!!

Have a good morning couch!

Healed, in keeping with the theme of the thread, we would love to see a picture of your new couch!

Home from running kids to school. Have 30 minutes to get to work. Of course I'm on PC instead of getting ready.

Have a great day couchies!
Thanks for this!

Hope everyone is doing well it's been a bit since I've sat on the couch.

Life is just too much today. It's only 07:00 and I'm ready for the day to be over.

Well. Hello and good morning.

Woke up with a headache (bottle of wine 'll do that to ya), but a dose of ibuprofen put it right. Now I'm drinking coffee and trying to figure out how to get rid of that woozy-in-the-head feeling.

Good morning, couch!

Glad your depression is lifting Bipolarartist.

Today I see the general cardiologist for my yearly check- the first time since I've lost some weight. Hoping he will find that my heart is better. I see the heart surgeon for a yearly check next month. I'll let you know how it goes!

Gah, I hate getting ready to go anywhere...

Morning! Finally got a decent night's sleep last night. I wish I could spread this around, though.

Last night lurked on the diet/fitness section here and got all inspired. Let's see how long it lasts. Of course, let's first see if I get started in the first place.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor, would you be mine, could you be mine, won't you be? Please won't you be? Won't you please be. . .my neighbor!!

Sorry, that's been in my head all day long, had to get it out, and hope the earworm doesn't infect you guys!

So far so good at work. So far so good that I'm still awake, because around 9:30 it was yawn central around here, seriously contemplated taking a nap under my desk!

I'm feeling a little bit less fragile today, not sure what that mood was, but will be glad to see the end of it.

Last night I did a little research on shame, guilt, embarrassment, etc. Not sure exactly what it is I'm feeling, or why, since I've never been one to name my emotions, let alone feel them. I'm going to do some more reading on it as I have time today, but if anyone has any good book recommendations throw them out there!

(((((hugs)))))

No books but this is a major theme of mine both in and out of therapy. I had a Russian teacher who insisted I learn the phrase, I feel guilty, in Russian because I used it so much.

There is a difference in the definitions of those words, so I'm not sure which one matches the way I feel. However, whatever the feeling is, I want it to go AWAY and let me be satisfied with my numbness again. Thanks Rags!!

If someone were to tell you that their bones feel like they're floating but they themselves feel very heavy and crushing would this make sense?

I hate emotions it's like trying to describe what salt tastes like.

Per many therapy discussions: guilt is feeling awful about something you did, shame is more global - it's more like feeling awful about who you are, and embarrassment is feeling bad that other people know about the thing you did. To add another one I discussed in my session last Friday, humiliation is related to embarrassment but more public and more intense.

Hope this sheds a little light.

Mast, linguist, come baack!

StressedMess, my T has recommended Shame and Pride by D Nathanson. I haven't read it but I've read shorter essays by Nathanson and what he says makes sense to me. Here is a discussion (and summary) of the book - I have only read parts of it: http://www.secthoughts.com/Psych/Sha...ersonality.pdf
I also like this affect psychology primer which discusses shame among other things (it is written in a slightly patronizing tone, but the content is interesting) : http://www.tomkins.org/wp-content/up...logy-Kelly.pdf
Thanks for this!

Guilt goes against your own standards.
Shame goes against the community/outside yourself standards.

At least that's how I've always been taught/learned it.

Thanks. I started reading it, realized I need to get some stuff done and finish it later, but I already learned what my t meant when he said I have low affect and plan to use this in a discussion about why he thinks this.

I realize the articles were really meant for someone else but I want in, too. :-)
