Study Confirms Antipsychotic Drugs Decrease Brain Tissue | CCHR International

Myth of the antipsychotic | Opinion | The Guardian

Antipsychotics and Brain Damage: Shrinkage & Volume Loss

this is proof that i will never ever ever ever go on meds even without including this issue of the others inside my head they are poison and the doctors are lying and they do want to hurt me should i cancel the appointment i have with my psychiatrist?

I mean...it seems like you've already made up your mind but I would definitely still go see your psychiatrist. You need help; you're not thinking clearly.

Hugs for you (if allowed).

you can give hugs. maybe i will go see him to tell him i dont think i should come back the only little thing that worries me is if he is like the others say which i think he is then he might be mad and then do bad stuff to me so that i cant get away that scares me so maybe i should just disappear but then he may call someone this is a problem. and i actually feel like my thinking has been more clear the last few days like i can see the real everything but also weirdly detached it is hard to explain.

Yes it's a risk, there's a risk the medication I am on can cause a brain infection, but you know what? The benefits outweigh the risk. You speak of the others, you speak of having Sui ideation so I wonder if it would be worth taking the drugs? If you are at risk of doing harm to yourself what do you have to lose from trying something else? Except maybe the harmful thoughts?

Millions of people have been helped by medications. Some have been hurt. A person has to weigh the pros and cons of taking them. IMO if there is a drug that can help you to get better physically or mentally and the alternative is to get worse or just never better, you should really think about it. There are several good drugs that most people do well on. There are people out there with agendas, meaning some push drugs despite how much they might hurt people, and others are the opposite, anti-drug and look for negative media and unscientific studies to support their agenda.

I have been on and off meds for almost 30 years. I have gone off a few times hoping I would do well without. Each time I had to go back on my meds, proving I need them to function normally.

I hope you can find help with or without drugs. There are natural methods you can try. But if you are in a crisis situation, don't mess around. Get help. Call 911 if you feel you might hurt yourself or others. Take meds temporarily to get normalized if necessary. Then you can experiment with other things once you are stabilized.

And DO see the psychiatrist. They won't make you take anything if you don't want to. It's a good place to start to get well.

CCHR is a tax exempt, lobbying entity that is affiliated with the Church of Scientology.

Revenue exactly Matches Liability on their financial statement.

It's all there through their website.

If scientology is your choice, then I hope you can find yourself well and better.

I wouldn't discount it. They also provide useful information so that patients can make informed decisions. They post side effect information.

Maybe they Can Help? Choosing medication isn't an easy choice and my impression is that they teach how to overcome one's various emotional conflicts. Reading through their about section, was created by a psychiatrist. One of their arguments is the term illness without discrediting that people do sometimes experiences times of depression, et al.

Mentalhealthdaily has affiliations with non mh corporations aka corporate sponsorship.

The guardian was an opinion editorial.

I don't understand why there seems to be such negative connotations when you use the word sick. Sick means to be unwell. You have "others" in your head that control you. You are a prisoner in your own body, unable to live a happy life because of these others. Every day you live with the threat that these others are going to make you do bad things to yourself and others. You are unwell. I am unwell. Most people on this forum are unwell. Half the damn world is full of unwell people. That doesn't make us weak or bad or lousy people. Quite frankly, being unwell makes us f**king warriors.

You focus on everything you can't do, Eden. Why not take the first step in turning that around and try to focus on finding something you CAN do? Focus on finding one thing you can at least try to do to make yourself well.

in my family it mean you are not trying hard enough to be happy it means you are being a nuisance it means you need to suck it up and stop complaining it means you cant be bothered to try it means you are being weak. in my family in relation to mental health it means you are unreliable and your opinions are invalid it means you no longer have an identity and you just are your diagnosis. so forgive me for having such a negative outlook on the word but for me it has negative consequences. and i cant make myself well if i am not sick what even is well pretending like this isnt happening so everyone else can be happy.

I guess I don't understand... your family treats you like you are a nuisance, consider you weak and unreliable, have invalid opinions, and no identity because you are sick? Yet you say you are not sick?

No matter whether you consider yourself sick or not, what are you going to do to try to make yourself feel less miserable? Have you researched any natural solutions that you can try? What can you do to at least try and take your power back?
Thanks for this!

And now that the doctor's discussed with your family what they syspect is your dsm diagnosis, your family mistreats you? Referring to you as a nuisance is mistreatment.

And to me, this feeling of being unsafe with doctors seems more clear, since it created instability in your home, an emotionally unsafe environment.
Thanks for this!

Things like a hospitalization don't need to be recent to be traumatizing. Especially if your family reacted in a way that pushed you away emotionally.

Also, there's only sooooo many disorders in the DSM. So most of your diagnosis truly it doesn't matter.

Unfortunately some meds do have pretty bad side effects. But you need to weigh what the worst option is: living in so much distress as you are presently or trying something new? (ie. something new which might possibly help you)

I am sorry your parents view being sick as being weak or not trying hard enough. With all due respect, your parents are wrong. Being human means being fallible. I am afraid this is a message many parents 'teach' their kids but it doesn't make them right.

If things are really bad, it might be worth considering new avenues. I wish you well.

I don't know if Meds are good or bad for you or reducing brain tissue but thinking that's there are creatures in your head etc can't be good for you either or overall the way you feel doesn't sound like its a great alternative to taking Meds

If you don't think you are sick then why do you think you aren't feeling well? If people aren't sick they don't feel devastatingly ill the way you feel. What might be the reason if not sickness?
