Diana Ross's daughter Tracee Ellis Ross was just photographed all over the internet for wearing sneakers all the time. Maybe she's copying stopdog!

Yeah, I also see someone like Info's choice of clothing, etc., to be a sign that she's super comfortable with herself. I think older women are awesome, especially if they are bright. I would not want to see one who is still striving to fit in.

I also made lemon bars using an angel food cake mix and some lemon protein pudding packets (plus one little bottle of lemon juice), instead of sugary lemon pie filling. I never made lemon bars before. Such as they are, they are pretty tasty.

Even though I’m not attracted to her.

And I think that clothing choices do indicate personality, and that is fine, but they might also indicate issues. Info dressing forty years younger than her age, the odd choice of skin tones and hair colors, suggest to me that she is not comfortable in her own skin. And that there might be issues that indirectly affect my therapy.

This isn’t actually even because she’s a woman, that just affects what’s on display. I’d find tight pants on a male therapist distracting, and visible chest hair (a la MC) or no undershirt too.

I am of the opinion that therapists should offer as little distraction as possible, either in their offices or their clothing. It’s a place to focus. Just as there shouldn’t too much self-disclosure.
Maybe that's why my t wears black so much, and not because she's secretly a ninja... Except obviously it distracts me in some way (when I notice her clothes at all) since I seem to mention it a lot. I don't know why it should affect me, but it does. More fodder for therapy, I suppose.

Are cold shoulder shirts comfortable? I would find them unnerving. Am i dressed? Am i not dressed? Am i wearing sleeves? Am i not wearing sleeves? I think im an HSP (highly sensitive person). The thought of bare shoulders against my winter coat - shudder!

I just do not think dressing like you are 25 when you are 65 suggests that you are comfortable in your own skin. You’re trying to reclaim a lost youth instead of adjusting to aging gracefully. Likewise frequent changes of hair color.

I am an academic—I see all kinds of eccentric dressing from colleagues, especially older females. They leave the impression of not caring what others think, that what you see is what you get. Info trying to fit into or carry off gamine clothes does not.

Although she has never worn a onesie. Too much coverage.

Might I recommend a onesie with the shoulders cut out?

I have one, which I don’t wear anymore because besides being cold shoulder it’s also a heavy sweater. I can’t adjust to the temperature difference.

I don't wear them, so I have no idea. I imagine people wear clothes for all sorts of reasons and I could easily see someone wearing a shirt with shoulder holes to mean that they're comfortable with their body.

I have several shirts/thin sweaters that are cold shoulder; I love them. I'm an HSP, but I guess I don't think about the whole cold-shoulder thing too much.
I have too much other **** to be anxious about.

I like cold shoulder tops, too, and have a few. I just try to wear a bra that won't show with them.

i have never even heard of a cold shoulder shirt. what on earth?

my T dresses in a business casual sort of way, and never anything that has stuck out to me as being distracting. i also look at her for about 4.5 seconds per session, so that may effect my thoughts as well. once she was wearing hiking boots which i thought was sort of funny, but it was a saturday session and maybe she was going hiking with her family after.
Thanks for this!

Ex-T (70 years old) usually dressed very tastefully and fashionably, always in heels (often open-toed). Nordstrom came up in one session, and she was like, "I love Nordstrom." Me: "I love Nordstrom Rack..." (the store where they sell discounted items).

Though there were a couple sessions near the end where she wore a sheer top with a lime green camisole underneath...didn't fit with her usual tasteful attire and was kind of distracting to me.
Thanks for this!

At least sometimes the items in Nord. Rack are discounted items that were once sold at Nordstrom. So in reality, you may like some of the same things (or not).

I have to ask - does anybody else loooove Tony Romo? He gives such excellent insights into the game, little tidbits about what the players are thinking. I hate his voice, but i love what he says. Hes on now, 2nd chair on CBS, buf at Jax.

I kinda hated him when he was a QB, but love him as an announcer. He actually seemed kinda snarky during the Jags-Bills game today, and I enjoyed that. Like when the Bills scored a field goal fairly late in the second quarter (first score for either team in the game), Romo was like, "We've got a score, Jim!" and they were laughing about it.

Yep! It just felt in a way like, "Oh, I can afford to shop at Nordstrom..." Without thinking, "Oh, maybe LT can't afford to buy most things at full price there..."
