Ah well. I cancelled the T appointment for Saturday. What's done is done. I feel a little bad but I only had one thing to talk about and there's no way that was going to take 50 minutes.

So I stopped for gas on the way home/to school, and my car won't start again. At all, this time. Waiting for AAA to get here. Grrr. Likely won't make it to class as they take a while. May see if son can meet me here and take me to school once the tow truck comes cuz they'll take car to the mechanic for me. Stressful day at work, continues... le sigh.

I could probably find you an ancient Greek quote that says nothing from outside Greece is worth eating.

My grandpa is at the hospital and he is going to be admitted. So I went to the assisted living home and picked up some necessities for him. At the hospital, a woman at the ER in a wheelchair asked me if I could go get her some food at a fast food place down the road a bit. She was willing to give me money but I didn't feel right about taking it. So I went and got her the food and took it back to the hospital to give to her. Then on my way home I decided I didn't want to cook so I went through the drive through. As I pulled up to the window to pay, the employee told me the car ahead of me had paid for my meal! Wow! Sometimes you just get blessed!

Im sorry i keep bugging you about this! I keep assuming that, like me, you cannot HEAR the exact words they are saying without earphones. I guess ive read more british mystery (and other) novels. Plus i watched Ab Fab over and over (i had cable for a while).

Anyway, if i can hear the exact words they are saying, then i can either suss it out or google it. But if its an aural blur, i dont get it at all. Whereas in american english i would, because it would be easier for me to pick out a single sound.
Thanks for this!

This is a metaphor, right? You're not actually gardening?

Why does this sound like a poem to me? Like a haiku that doesn't follow the syllable rules.

No I am actually gardening, this is a new endeavour for me as my ex liked to be the man and do all the outdoor stuff while i stayed indoors, and occasionally helped with visual measuring in the shed.
Thanks for this!

I couldn't find anything in the Illiad about maple syrup. I've read it cover to cover, but it's just not there.

You're a classical scholar. Maybe you can find a relevant quote?

So you made up your quote? I am asking where it is from.

Also, one L in Iliad.
