Holy carp. Well, from the tv, it looks like everything is still SEVERELY underwater. Like up to rooftops.

I wonder how the PBS show lady Chef and the Farmer is. She is near Wilmington, i think. The show is finished, but they live there by her parents. They used to show how she sourced from so many local farms.
Thanks for this!

I am glad you love it too.

But, nooooooooo......it’s absolute sacrilege to compare it to the Good Wife.

Maxine Peake is awesomely dysfunctional and carries the show without having anything resembling a typical romantic plot line (in contrast to the Good Wife and most of the shows on American TV with a female lead).

It’s partly why Borgen and Forbrydelsen are also so awesome — you have really strong (and vulnerable) women who are protagonists in riveting stories that don’t have a significant male (or female for that matter) romantic interest.

Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox right about now.

I eat cereal in greek yogurt instead of milk (more protein and it doesn't get soggy and also milk is gross), but I've never tried that before. Maybe I will. I just got some pumpkin spice oatmeal

Oh, at the risk of sounding unpatriotic - id give my pants to be there. I used to call my italian mother "mummy". I still believe queen elizabeth left me in a basket on my parents porch and will one day return to claim me as her own. I only compared it to good wife in the sense of "law show with gorgeous women and interns and a lot of interesting law stuff."

Well, the stupid local hog farms have polluted everything even more than usual with the flooding. And there has been wastewater and coal ash spillage. I will not be drinking tap water anymore. Bad enough with the genx, but now this...

As for the flooding, the only parts in Wilmington flooded are the ones right by the river. Other places got it way worse.

Sooo many new people at work the break room at noon is just teeming w people. Ugh. Work at home can't come fast enough for me!! On that note I learned that my boss dropped the ball on it and it is going to be another 4-6 weeks. Navajo rabbit!! My manager was in the office Monday (he usually works at home) and said he was surprised to see me, that I should have been at home by now. He got the ball rolling again...

*does some quick math*

So you came just after Anne?

I bet you’re cuter though.

Eta: I’m so used to closed-captioning that I can read with one eye and watch the actors with the other.

I like the talking captioning. It makes me feel like i have a friend. Sometimes if the reception is poor, it switches itself on, which is kinda weird. "Olivia hears a knock at the door. Oh no, its that crazy lady in the calvin klein jeans again."

I don't know if I'm coming or going all day today at work. Between juggling 3 projects, a 4 he training and getting up to speed on a new system we start using tomorrow my head is rather spinning. I don't know how I'll focus in class tonight! Barely keeping my eyes open right now as it is. Will be cranking up the tunes on the way to school to stay awake!

Chopin (remember her?) lives near there. Her power is back on.

Made up for yesterday's productivity by getting absolutely nothing accomplished today.

I spent like 20 minutes analyzing some data and it came out weird so I gave up.
I think part of it is because I've been exhausted all day. My hours of sleep/night for the last week have been 6, 7, 10, 0, 6, 6, 4. I need to go to bed earlier tonight. It would be a lot easier if I could just shut my thoughts off.

I'm thinking of cancelling my t appointment for Saturday. I just don't feel up to it. I know if I don't go though it will be another three or four weeks until I can get in. Sigh.
