We found a couple nice-looking steaks marked way down at the store yesterday, so I'm broiling them right now for dinner. Also making rice a roni and green beans. Yum!

I love rice a roni. There is something about those soft tiny noodles.

Rice a roni, which i am pretty sure is the same as rice a riso over here, tastes like sad.

I’m a sucker for Pasta Roni and the Knorr Pasta Sides. I can make basic prepackaged things like these, and basically lived off of them when I lived alone. Tuna Helper as well. Now I want some crappy pasta.

I used to eat the Knorr sides all the time when I lived alone. Sometimes I added some vegetables to them to make it healthier, but often I did not. They would have them on sale really cheap at the Giant near me, so I'd stock up.

Now I want the Stroganoff one...

So I'm kicking myself right now. I have a writers' critique group every other week on Zoom. Normally we do just fiction, since that's what we all write, but I've been going through my old writing this summer and I found seven poems I wrote during my really bad time of 4-5 years ago. And they seemed pretty good to me and maybe I should do something with them. So I submitted them for our next critique session week after next.

Which I am now really regretting. They're very personal poems and I like these women, but still. And it seems a lot of people who write poetry have no idea that their poetry is actually pretty bad, and now I worry these are bad and I will embarrass myself.

Feh. I'll distract myself by sending off my short story to the journal of the day. At least that story's not personal.

The Stroganoff one is my favorite. I had it last week. It's a guilty pleasure though so I try not to indulge too often.

I don’t know that I’ve had Stroganoff. My husband hates when I buy them because they’re so unhealthy, but I may need to make an exception.

It feels like I haven't seen my therapist in ages, but it was yesterday. Not even yesterday morning. It was afternoon. I cried a lot and he ended rather abruptly for a bathroom break, so maybe that's why it feels off right now.

Me and my friend get minced garlic. We can't be bothered to buy the whole garlic cloves but the powder just seems too little for the price. So we get minced garlic. A small tub lasts a long time in the fridge.

I went to a therapist who was pretty terrible looking back because she had the most wonderful therapy dog. I had my cat who was just about as good, but I hate and need talk therapy so the dog was a nice touch.

Dog seemed smarter then that therapist too.

He can respond to me when he likes but don't make out that deliberately withholding is supposed to help me.
I have lots of control issues, someone being or sounding controlling can be a trigger point. I can see where this feels like a power play. My other thought was also as someone with anxiety, if I am anxious a timeline can help me know I am not abandoned. My anxiety issues would be through the roof with no timeline.

This is a good point about the lack of timeline. My T typically responds to emails in the mornings (though occasionally at other times). It can help me to know when emailing him in the evening that I will almost certainly get some sort of reply in the morning (and the I also most likely won't get one at night, unless it's something really urgent or about scheduling).

With my former marriage counselor (and also my ex-T), he never had any sort of set time where he'd reply to emails or requests for phone calls.* Sometimes, he'd email back within a few hours. Sometimes, it wouldn't be for a few days or longer (or he might only reply if, say, I were to send another email checking to see if he got that one). Or he might not reply at all. So that would lead to anxiety and obsessive checking of my email (I have OCD as well). Or staring at my phone, hoping he'd call. With current T, I just tell myself that he'll most likely reply in the morning (OK, so that doesn't keep me from staring at my inbox in the mornings sometimes, if he replies later than his usual window, but it still helps).

*If you're not familiar, the stuff with ex-MC is a long, complicated story that ended quite painfully for me. Inconsistent boundaries can really mess with a client...

I went for a walk last night on the walking trail near new house. Part of it is alongside the train tracks, well not right alongside of course but fairly close. I took a sunset pic cuz it looked so pretty. It's a tad dark in the pic but you can sorta see the walking trail. Anyway I love hearing the soft rumbling of the train from my house. eta: I also met several people from the neighborhood who were walking their dogs. Nice people! And, friendly dogs too, of course.

Ugh — the girl who is subletting my apt for the summer just texted expecting me to give her $100 off the rent this month because she is moving in on June 5th instead of June 1st. It’s absolute BS because she agreed in writing to pay the entire month’s rent ages ago. What the hell is wrong with people?

I told her no and she said she’d pay the full amount as originally agreed. But now I’m pissed. If she expected and goodwill from me, she’s not getting it.

Why do people do crap like this?!?? Like, I was fine being helpful and friendly to her until she pulled this nonsense; now she’s on her own. (Plus obv I told my current roommate aka her future roommate about this so now the roommate knows to watch out for this girl’s BS. Not a great way to start things out.)
