HUGS Lost.

I don't know if that is an anxiety issue or a human issue but I can reassure you that I would have felt the same way!

Only to find out this morning that it probably isn’t plantar fasciitis. So now I have to go back to my doctor to get a referral to a rheumatologist. Then get an appt with them. The constant pain I have been in for 6 weeks seems like it will never end.

I am also terrified that I will be diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, which can start with foot pain.
It is chronic and progressive, and of course has no cure.

I am completely done. I can not do this anymore.

I'm so sorry you're having pain like that. I had to have my Achilles tendon repaired a couple of years ago, foot pain can be sooo discouraging. Where exactly are you feeling the pain?

I don't think it seems needy to ask for an earlier appointment, Kit. In fact, quite the opposite - I think it would be a good opportunity to get a better feel for her, and she for you.

Thanks everyone. My mental health is already very fragile, and I think all of this is slowly breaking me.

Lost-I would see it as anxiety, because I react to stuff like that very easily. If my boss said that to me, I immediately be like “Oh no, what did i do wrong? She hates me! I am getting fired, and down the rabbit hole I go.

Thanks, Velcro.

That makes sense.

A few years ago, my boss invited me to a meeting.

I was stunned when she asked how the organisation could support me in reaching my goals, because I had expected to be relieved of my duties.

Ah, jumping to conclusions...the best exercise I am getting at the moment!

I get anxious when my boss calls me into his office - I think it's a normal reaction.

My boss always starts with "you are not in trouble " ....I think he gets it. Now that my son is working at the same place I do....the directors call me in to talk about his work (he has autism)....this also makes me really anxious

How old is your son, is it an official thing that the boss talks to you about his work? If he's working, he's the person to talk to if there's issues, unless it's some kind of assisted setup. While it's good of you to be supportive and available in all circumstances, it's not on you to receive work reviews.
Thanks for this!

Work continues to drive me mad, but I am actually prepared for the workshop I'm supporting next week, well ahead of time.

Presently trying to arrange some of the myriad thoughts in my head into coherent sentences ahead of tomorrow's therapy session.

My new potential T was able to fit me in today at 12 PM. So 4 hours from now. I have a lot of anxiety (which is why I was contacting her about a session sooner) but also I am worried she is going to think I am a handful right out of the gate since we just met on Monday. EEK. Hopefully it goes well. Pocket riders would be helpful! Thanks all!

Kit, I'm glad she was able to fit you in! The thing is, as you said, Monday was basically just an intake session, so it's not like you got real support or therapy then. I hope she will be helpful. And I can pocket ride! (I see Dr. T at noon my time, so in a little over 30 minutes, but through the magic of different time zones, I can pocket ride for yours, too!)

Glad it's lunch time. Not cuz I'm hungry, but just because I don't feel like working today. I took 2 days off next week (Sunday and Monday) so after my overtime on Saturday and after h's liver dr appt, I'm gonna hit the road a couple hours north for one night to hike in a new place on Sunday. Looking forward to getting out in nature again I need it so much. While our overtime is still mandatory on days we are working, since feb 1 we are allowed to take vacation again (PTO is normally blacked out all of January) so I am taking 2 days even though it means the other days I work next week my overtime will be straight-time pay instead of OT pay. I don't care. I need an actual weekend!!

Thanks, Kit! It did go well. We didn't talk about the therapeutic relationship at all this time after a few sessions focusing on that/repair (I didn't really feel the need to talk about it). Focused on stuff with D and also on anger, which is something that I struggle to feel and express. I think I have a new understanding of the purpose and positives of anger (I had only seen it as a negative) from how Dr. T explained it.

Ugh - the plague has visited our household. My son and I tested positive for COVID. Husband is at work and hasn't come home yet (he probably doesn't want to). No way to isolate from each other as we live in a small apartment with one bathroom. The good news is that we don't feel too terribly bad.

Hey couch. I'm trying so hard to be positive and upbeat but I'm just miserable. I'm so burned out on work (thankful I am taking PTO this weekend though) and issues with h - we're not fighting so much now as, he's becoming more and more depressed (and still won't admit it) about his health stuff (his hearing aid is broken and he's waiting for it to be repaired so he can't hear, he's always tired because he refuses to exercise like the dr keeps telling him to do, because he can't eat ice cream and cake and candy anymore, etc)and I'm just dissatisfied overall in being married anyway anymore... it's like we're both miserable and neither of us can see a way out of the misery. I don't know what to do.

I don't have advice really Artie, but I am sending you hugs. I do think that the PTO this weekend is a good thing, a change of pace can always be good. Have you been drumming lately? Or painting? Or crocheting? Try to remember what things used to bring you joy and even though you may not want to do them, it is important to try to do them. Sometimes some of the joy comes back. HUGS Kit

Thanks Kit. I haven't been to a drum circle since he restarted them in early February, by thursday night i'm just too tired to stay awake for them. I did make that doggie afghan lately, and mailed it to my friend, she is supposed to send me pics soon of the doggie laying on it that will cheer me up when i see the pics I'm sure. I haven't been painting... maybe I'll try to make myself do one after work today. I guess it doesn't help that it's raining and gray outside today. And I always soak up other people's feelings so with h all down in the dumps too, I'm taking on that as well. thanks and hugs back!
