I turned in most of my grades and am waiting for the inevitable grade grubbing emails

I bought some Bel Vita cracker cookies. They are like hard graham crackers, and not very sweet so they dont trigger me to eat more more more.
Thanks for this!

I ate two cookies out of a pack of 4 this morning with my coffee, which is like a bit over 100 calories, and am really not looking for more until my next coffee. And i am the original cookie monster.

So its like a Hannukah miracle!

Here's my latest progress on my Valentine's day afghan. It's actually a little brighter than it looks in the pic.

I'm looking for some yarn with sparkles in it to maybe make a New Years Eve one. Eventually I'll have made one for each holiday to drape across the back of the couch.

Those are pretty good! I discovered Wegman's whole-grain Animal Crackers, which are similar in that they're very OK (not very good) and not very sweet, so I don't want to keep eating them. I think Belvita are whole-grain, too.

I’ve been going though Belvita too over the past two days, bought them because they were on sale. The Strawberry ones are nice.

I’m tempted to buy this today, if I do go out food shopping.

I got none this year. All I got was one email thanking me for rounding up grades as it helped this student out.

Disappointing,
That is disappointing. If my students did that, I would have nothing to commiserate with my colleagues about at the winter commencement (ours is not the whole univ -just the law school) - I mean other than the rest of our other usual complaints about students, admin, and IT.

Sad today. Senior cat (Stormy, who's either 16 or 17 now I'm not sure anymore) seems to be rapidly declining. I weighed him 2 weeks ago and he weighed 13.2 lbs. This morning I weighed him and he was only 12 lbs. The past couple days he's going potty just outside the litter box and today he won't eat anything, not even the chicken baby food I made. Trying to get him into the vet sooner rather than later. We lost Rascal (his brother) 2 years ago this month. He's been a member of our family since he was a tiny kitten. I'm not ready to say goodbye. But we need to know if the howling he's been doing and the other stuff is because he's in pain, or cat dementia, or something else.

eta: I just got a vet appointment for tomorrow afternoon.

Hugs, Artie.

I'm so sorry you're going through this again so soon.

I hope the vet can offer some treatment to make him more comfortable.

Keep us posted, if you can.

*hugs*

Also sending hugs, Artie. Glad you'll be able to see the vet tomorrow. It sounds like you're doing all you can right now for him.

thanks, Lost & LT. He did eat something this afternoon, some leftover bbq that h heated up for lunch. So that made me feel better. We'll see what the vet says tomorrow. I was so hopeful that the chicken baby food was the ticket but he still won't eat that today.

I don't think we are ever ready to put a pet down -but knowing one does the best thing for the pet, particularly when it is telling us it is time to go, rather than what we want is the gift of thanks we give them in my opinion.
I always worry about keeping my guys alive too long rather than too short. It is never a fun decision.

That's my fear... making him suffer just because I can't let him go. I already told the vet when I made the appointment that we're aware the discussion tomorrow is going to include talking about letting him go.

Artie, I'm sorry Stormy is struggling. I know with my dogs, once they stop eating, something is really wrong. And we go through all different types of food just trying to get them to eat.

It's such a hard decision knowing what to do when it comes to caring for a life. I still wonder if I made the right choice putting my Anya through the surgery and recovery of losing her gallbladder. Maybe I was selfish and should have just let her go. It's so hard knowing what's right.

I feel for you.

thanks scarlet. he always likes licking out the bowl after h eats beef barley soup so i opened a can of that earlier and gave him some of the broth, but he didn't want it. he hasn't eaten much today at all, poor guy. i called my son earlier and told him what's going on, he was always Stormy's person... I put the phone down to Stormy so he could talk to him and Stormy was sniffing the phone, I was like awwwww.... he knows big brother's voice...

stormy's not eating anything this morning; and he's currently sleeping in the linen closet in our bathroom (the one place that Penelope doesn't bother him). I'm keeping a close watch on him today while I'm working.

I'm sorry to hear he's not improved, Artie. How long 'til his appointment?
