I work as a cna at night and when I worked days I was a mess. I had the runs constantly from severe anxiety and people assumed I always had the flu so I would be sent home or worse taken off the patient's schedule which decreased hours and increased anxiety. I'm not sure what to do for a job in college since I also have slow cognitive processing speed so I could never do a fast pace job which is almost everything. Maybe a campus job at the community college would be good, where can I post on PC about campus job questions?

Also, I made dean's list and my gpa is finally over a 3.0! I'm doing so much better academically and after two years of failing classes I finally have great grades due to better stability.
Do you have financial aid....there are typically a lot of work study positions on campus...you can assist with various projects for the professors. They pay well and tend to be low key because half of your salary is government and half is from the profs funding. I honestly don't know what kind of jobs they would have at a community college because I went to a bigger university and we all did basic tasks for research labs and stuff. You would make solutions and autoclave dishes and stuff...some people did other weird stuff like measure the magnetic fields in rocks but you had to go in at midnight to do that because the buses screwed up the fields. Anyway if you do have financial aid talk to the aid office about jobs they might have a few leads.

this life is hell.

Still really irritable this morning. I don't feel much better. I slept some. But, I'm like a smoking volcano. I just keep trying to breathe. All these weeks I've felt manic and I didn't think about tracking my mood, haven't done it in a while. I just started yesterday. I need to make a log of this for my phsyical. I know my GP can't do much for me other than tell me to see a pdoc. But, it's all I have right now.

Well, I'm glad you're feeling better AD. No need to say sorry.

Newtus, you haven't made a fool of yourself. I can't think of a single foolish thing you've done. You just share your struggles like everyone here, that's why we're all here so we don't deal with this stuff alone.

Help! How do I get rid of this restless feeling? It is torture. I feel like I am going to become violent. I am trying to suppress it.

Have you changed drugs? Increased? Abilify could sometimes make me feel incredibly restless---you have to find something do do that will engage your attention. Often simply leaving your current environment and going somewhere new helps. Sometimes watching a movie while doing something else like painting helps but your mind must be fully engaged. I usually needed something tactile so I kept silly putty and high bounce balls around to play with while doing other things.

I am not on any drugs at the moment. I haven't taken Abilify in about a month.

I have been trying to suppress the urge to explode by rocking and wringing my hands. Throwing or playing with a ball sounds like a good idea, but I cannot do that in my apartment, because the neighbor upstairs tends to complain. I will try going for a walk in the cold. Hopefully getting out of here for awhile will help. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sometimes you got to keep telling yourself "every thing is going to be ok" even when it doesn't feel like it.

I'm so not good with advice but I know self medicating yourself is only a temporary fix. When I was in counseling they help me find coping skills to deal with emotions. Sometimes they work... and sometimes they don't. It's hard to deal with these feelings. It's good that you're on here writing down how you feel.
