I'm so terrified that'll be my case this month.

Fight for your well being. If I'd recognized the seriousness at the time, I'd have done things differently. Find money and go to a private pdoc. Even if you have to take a job you hate. Just scrape up a couple hundred dollars (might cost less) to see a private doc. You don't want to go through what I did.

And if you go to a private doc they'll help with the SSDI too.

And I really do understand this is easier said than done. But you have your physical health going for you (which I also had when I was young) and you might be able to stock shelves at a store or something that wouldn't be too triggering. But I know how hard it is. I worked a lot of different jobs when I was young until I finally began working overnights alone. You can do it if you try really hard. But maybe your friends could loan you the money too? Do whatever you can.

Another thought is, could you deal with a tapering plan that was super slow and as easy as possible? Maybe you can work out a method on your own while you're still getting your med so you could do it over the course of a year or more.

Morning...

I feel stressed this morning for the first time in quite a while.

I woke up around 4:30am & have had trouble getting back to sleep because of the sun shining in my room. I think the more trouble I have sleeping in the early morning the more I feel stressed. I even feel hot & my stomach feels a bit queasy.

to everyone who was having a crappy day yesterday.

Sorry you have so much crap to deal with now, A18793715 and Angelique. And your family should be more supportive, A18793715. I get that your sister is immature if she's young but your mom shouldn't have said that.

All that water retention you just shouldn't weigh yourself during your period because it's not very accurate. I wouldn't worry about it for now. Keep par for the course and then see.

Edit: See I'm not even on my period and I woke up seven pounds lighter than last night because of water retention/loss.

Great, the SNRI Effexor is causing SEVERE memory loss. I can't retain anything. I downed my dosage back to the beginning stage so that I don't get withdraw. And I'm phoning my Psychiatrist. Plus it gives me anhedonia just like any SSRI would. SNRI's apparently don't help either. Super. I can't even remember words. This stuff is awful! I can't believe she didn't tell me this as a side effect. Horrible. Just horrible.

Periods are awful, newtus, I hope that it gets better for you soon!

I am feeling pretty nervous today, I start day treatment tomorrow.
I've done day treatment before, but it's been a while.

I've just been looking through my iTunes wishlist & have found some songs I'd forgotten I'd put there.

Just thought I'd share this one:
Agnes Obel - Riverside

I think it was on an episode of Grey's Anatomy.

That's awful. I tried so many anti-depressants over years of being depressed and I think the main side effect I had from Effexor was that I really became into pulling out my hair.

I never heard of memory loss as a side effect that's so odd and terrifying

I'm sorry to hear that Effexor isn't working for you. I guess everyone has different reactions, they help some but for others they are a nightmare or just simply don't work.

I had a pretty good experience with Citalopram but I did find that less was more. On 30mg I felt fuzzy & was still getting nausea 3 weeks after the dosage increase so I decreased down to 20mg & it worked a treat for me.

Psychiatric medications are finicky for sure.

Anyone here ever get Diazepam for anxiety? I've never really heard anyone mention it here and I'm curious is it not really a go to drug for anxiety. The ones I see mainly mentioned here are Xanax and Klonopin.

I was on Valium for about the first 15 to 20 years of my benzo years. Then in the 90s I was switched to Klonopin.

I've taken it before a dentist appointment before, it helped a little.

Wow you were on it for 15 odd years? That's mental. My doc won't give me more than 10 days worth and that's it for another couple of months. I have to say it's the most effective benzo I've ever taken. It's actually my GP that gives it to me, my pdoc won't give me any benzo's whatsoever.

They don't like to give benzos anymore.

Where they a lot more lenient back then? I think most doctors nowadays are very strict with giving out prescriptions for benzo's. Though I still see some people on them every day for months on end. It's really dangerous. My pdoc said you either take something to control your symptoms (like an AP) or you don't take anything at all. They're against PRN's unless you're in a hospital inpatient setting.
