Just random stuff really, doodling I guess. Trying to get back in the habit of drawing. I tend to put it off because I'm a perfectionist it am always afraid to start something new

Ever since I mentioned OCD to my doctor it’s all I can think about. I started washing my hands a lot. I feel anxious and then I do it or another ritual and feel better then feel anxious again because I’m falling into rituals again.

You’re the same person now that you were before the new label. Did he give you any suggestions as far as coping strategies.?

Cognitive Behavior Therapy and ERP | Beyond OCD

I know you’re not a huge fan of therapy but these are the recommended treatments for ocd through cbt.

I mean I know it doesn’t change anything. I’m still me. I’ve dealt with this crap forever. It’s just coming to the surface again and I obsess. I’m trying not to think about it. The more I think about it the more I think about it.

You might do better with something from ACT....

We cannot control the weather, so we have to learn to adapt to it. We can put a coat on for instance, but we cannot stop the wind or rain, and it would be foolish to try. Regardless of what we do, the storm will pass.

Our thoughts and feelings are like the weather, they come and they go. We cannot control or stop them, but we can learn to react to them differently. If we give up the futile struggle to try and stop or control it, the storm of thoughts and feelings will pass.

I have a love hate relationship with music. I love listening to it it gets me pumped up and keeps me motivated at work but at the same time I feel like I’m supposed to be receiving secret messages in the music and the meds are blocking them.

Obsession is just part of it. It’s hard not to obsess about anything.

Going to get myself into a semi structured routine. I think it would be good for a lot of my free floating anxiety of not knowing what to do with myself while taking time off from school.

I'm working with my case manager to start the process of getting a resume put together and searching for jobs so I can begin working part time.

Until then I'm going to at least have a few activities I do each day. An hour of studying Italian, time on Khan Academy working on improving my math (I'm terrible with math in general)

Spend some time drawing and or coloring

Doing stress relief yoga and or some form of meditation in the late afternoon.

Listening to podcasts related to science and also my faith and other topics of interest.

And of course getting outside often, spending time with people.
