I saw this somewhere (of course I forget where now) but it seemed like a good idea.

Look in the mirror and name 10 things you like about yourself. If you can't do 10...try 5. Find at least one thing to latch onto in nothing else.

So often we put ourselves down. We (me included) need to start replacing those negative thoughts with positive ones.

Here are my things I like about me:
1. I am kind to animals.
2. I enjoy my job. I am constantly trying to be a better teacher.
3. I went to school an extra year and got my masters degree.
4. I have a "soft heart". Sometimes it hurts, but it's better than being cold-hearted.
5. Family is more important than anything to me.
6. I always try to be a good friend. Sometimes I fail...but I always try.
7. I like my hair.
8. I laugh like a chipmunk...and I think its great.

Thats all I got. Now you try it.

6. I love my ferrrets very much and it shows in the way they interact with me.
7. I can be very giving/supportive from time to time.
8. I am never better than swallowing my pride and admitting that I am wrong when I truley know that I am.
9. I'll stand up for anyone, whether I know them or not, if I feel they are being wronged.

7?! That's a great list AG. I think another good thing about you is the love you are willing to give someone else. Yes, I know right now it seems like a con, but it will be a pro someday!

You didn't even try Beth. I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe there isn't one thing you like about yourself.

Not one thing?! Nah. There are hundreds...but I think you can find one. I could rattle off about 5, but this is for you, not me.

LOL Nah, Angie. What I'm looking for are Positive statements without any qualifications to them. NOT something like this: "I'm caring "even though" (but) there are times I'm not caring enough." See what I mean? Just leave it at "I'm caring."

{{{{{{{{{AG}}}}}}}}}} Make your statement truly positive, ok? Here is an example:

4. I try to listen to my friends, even though they're getting very frustrated with me now

I listen to my friends because they want the best for me.

5. I try to be supportive

I AM supportive

Even if you feel that you could be more supportive, you already ARE supportive, even if it's just a little bit. Get it? An idea for raising self-esteem The amount of time, etc doesn't matter, as long as you know you have that quality. You are very supportive. I've seen it in so many of your posts to others. Don't think for a minute that I'm not telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, ok? I don't say things just to make people feel good. If I don't mean it, I don't say it.

I care very much that you improve your self-image! An idea for raising self-esteem

Monty, do you mind if I condense your positives? They reach your subconscious quicker than a longer version. An idea for raising self-esteem

1. I AM intelligent
2. I AM loving
3. I AM caring
4. I AM responsible
5. I AM loveable
6. I AM tenacious

It's probably going to be more difficult to say, but that's good. See if you can meet the challenge! An idea for raising self-esteem
