Your husband always cooks weird but amazing things lol

Makes me jealous

You should make that tofu parmigiana recipe that I sent you a while back! It tasted amazing!

D'aww

Tofu is ok. Not my favorite thing, especially because of texture, but I eat it because of the protein content. (Not a big fan of meat honestly.) But I guess it depends on how you prepare it and how much water you squeeze out of it. I usually let it "marinate" in spices so that it doesn't taste so plain.

Now I can imagine myself making a tofu veg chili... mmm... with the extra extra firm tofu Or tofu tacos

Not yet. Can you send me the recipe again?

I want to start cooking so when we move back I'll be able to do it sometimes. Need some recipes to try! It sounds good.

Yeah. A plain block of tofu is tasteless. You have to cook it with spices, etc.

I am trying to eat healthier too.

Breakfast for lunch, my favorite:
egg white omelette with spinach and tomatoes and onions
and pepper jack cheese with half an avocado on top.
It was delicious! and 1/2 cup of pineapple

dinner:
4oz hamburger patty with hot sauce
butternut squash
and another half an avocado.
1 oz of cheddar cheese
1 dark chocolate truffle
2 oz of drambuie=18 carbs.

Yum! That sounds most excellent

Breakfast: ate bagel with butter + 6 birthday cake Oreos (lol, bad breakfast)
Lunch: bowl of edamame (to get loads of protein)
Snack: will eat a protein bar (for more protein)

Today I've had two veggie dogs (that's always my lunch. lol), an apple, bowl of oatmeal with agave nectar and vanilla soy milk, and a couple spoonfuls of garlic soup. Probably all I'm having today, unless I have an orange later.

For lunch:
chicken quarter and quinoa soup.
I just found out that quinoa has a large amount of carbs: 30 per half cup!!!
Think my soup today had a cup.

Dinner
chicken with a simmering sauce of creamed spinach, an indian dish with chunks of cheese, a side of cauliflower which I mixed with the sauce.
I had a piece of chocolate truffle.
It was very good.

I snacked on a handful of almonds and ate 2 pieces of dried peaches.

I took a nap at 7pm...which is very unusual.
going to get to bed here pretty soon.

@raspberrytorte: yeah, except they're too delicious! Sometimes I binge eat those boxes...

Very healthy bizi quinoa is pretty healthy tho. It's great!

--

Currently prepping for my trip to Europe. Have to buy loads of healthy granola bars and other healthy snacks. Any ideas???

Last time I lost 5 lbs!!! It's because I didn't like any of the food. (No thanks on Wiener schnitzel, rosemary ice cream, or fried lamb leg...)

I leave in 1.5 weeks and I'll be there for 2 weeks

I brought 30-40 different types of CLIF and KIND bars with me on my last euro trip. I ate 1-3 a day depending on how hungry I was. I didn't eat much food outside of that because the food was weird in Poland (no offense to anyone who likes it).

Might bring some bean chips or butter-less popcorn. Lara bars are a good idea.

I `m a vegetarian and am trying go lower carb too because I`m also diabetic.Today went well(food wise). For lunch I had a salad and for dinner I had a broccoli stir fry and instead of having white rice and I had riced cauliflower.I`m really impressed with it it did give me the texture of white rice.I`m really trying here but it`s difficult when temptation is all around you.

I don't see how you can get your protein by doing low carb while being a vegetarian. Do you eat dairy? Cheese is low carb. Nuts?
I am glad that you like the cauliflower rice, have yet to try it but it sounds good.
have a good day.

I need to join but I'm not quite ready to take the leap into healthy eating. Mostly it's a matter of cutting sweats and increasing my sloth activity level to ......panda? I had back surgery and went into a severe depression so I never followed up on the PT afterwards and just walking a block causes my back to hurt. To lose weight I need to increase activities but that causes pain so I don't and that causes weight gain which increases pain which causes me to avoid moving........it's an evil spiral. But first I gotta get to the point of really committing.....I'm not there yet so is it ok if I read this thread and maybe get inspired by you all?

Today was good. Oatmeal for lunch, stir fry with peanut sauce for dinner. Unfortunately I'm sick and pulled a muscle so can't go to gym.

Nammu, I have heard that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Many people lose weight while not exercising. sorry about your back.

I just found out some fraudulent charges on my charge card. Around $400 worth.
Luckily I caught them with the help of rodney at capital one.
A new card is on the way. It will be here next week.

Some how I was sent a wool dress that I did not order and that is why I called them. IT came from china. I did not order it! So I stuffed it back into my mail box and wrote refused, I did not order this!
Will see if the mail person takes it away tomorrow.

Lunch:
8oz of chicken fahitas
collards
bowl of veggie soup
(lots of cauliflower, squash, tomatoes a little spicy chard yum!).

dinner:
pork chop
turnip greens
half an avocado
dark chocolate truffle
