I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can hopefully start taking walks after work.

Breakfast: Two oranges
Lunch: Bowl of chili with seitan
Dinner: Rice with meat loaf (we don't eat meat, so it's vegan version, which is made with lentils and vegetables)

I don't know if I'm losing weight or not. I can't tell, and our scale sucks.

what is seitan by the way?
Seitan is a vegan meat substitute. It's made with vital wheat gluten, etc.

Lunch:
12 oz Chicken and sausage gumbo...
the broth has flour but am not sure how many carbs.
6 charbroiled oysters with a lemon garlic butter sauce...delicious!
no rice or bread or potato salad like usual

Dinner:
6 oz of baked salmon with an orange sauce(that has 14 carbs in 2 tablespoons) and grated ginger
1/2 cup edamame (it only had 8 net carbs and 10 grams of protein!)
2 oz of drambuie

I sure did not eat many veggies today! I eat better during the work week. bizi____

Ugh! Fail FAIL.

I just had an apple and some cashews.

I'm never going to lose weight! I'm doomed to remain FAT. I just want to lose ten pounds. I want to get back down to 120.

Ate 2 medium pancakes for breakfast, then a slice of cheese pizza for a snack. Just wasn't hungry today!

Oh, and I had a blue raspberry Artic Rush from DQ and a few caramel creams (the bullseye things)

I'm so unhealthy tho

almonds are a better choice for nuts higher in protein and fiber.
sun flower seeds are good too.
You did not eat junk!

I love sunflower seeds!

In fact, I tried to eat some this morning, but as I was eating them, they tasted SO nasty. Then I looked at the expiration date: November 2015... 2015!!

But if you're gonna get sunflower seeds, I recommend the kernels, and seasoned kernels are really nice

I'm buying some more today because I'm going on a trip soon

163.7 this morning.2017 New diet thread, come join!(down 5.3 pounds since 1-4-17)
Bloating is going away, water weight....
yeah!
Maybe I can start during some exercises...I need to go to the gym!. Maybe I can do that today! There is a concert this afternoon, We want to support jeffs colleague Lucus who is playing a clarinet concerto, with the wind ensemble.
He practiced a lot over the christmas break. I think it was unfair to have the students have to perform right at the beginning of the semester. They probably had to work on the pieces over the break which is not right.
I hope they perform well at the concert at 3 this afternoon.
I have billing to do and charting(like usual, am now behind)...
I should not think of it as behind. It is the normal amount that I have to do...about 2-3 times a month. I guess I feel I should do it weekly. Maybe I can work on that.

I'll try almonds or sunflower seeds next time. I'm not really into nuts in all honesty. I just found a bag of cashews in the pantry when I was sniffing around for food late last night. I love cashews. It's a nut I love.

I went over on carbs yesterday but not outlandishly over. It's mainly bc I had some wine with dinner and then when I got home (drunk lol) I ate some dark chocolate. Ok, a lot of dark chocolate. So I had about 60 grams of carbs when I'm trying to keep it under 30. But I passed on bread at dinner and doubled my vegetables instead of getting the starch option so I consider it a win.

3 eggs scrambled
1/2 cup sauteed onions
1 cup fresh spinach
1/2 cup of black beans
1 cup of steamed broccoli
27 net carbs, 15 grams of fiber.
Limit my carbs to less than 60 and
Trying to shoot for at least 20 grams of fiber a day.
25 grams is ideal.

talapia,
cauliflower and cheese
half an avocado
hand full of almonds
one dark beer (30 carbs!!!!)
total of 72 carbs for the day.
a bit over 60 but I will take it.
I have heard that you can lose weight below
100 carbs it is just slower that way.
I did get 23 grams of fiber so am happy about that.

You're doing great bizi!

Today I had: one bowl of left over chili, three pieces of vegan cheese pizza, and a slice of a pudding pie my husband made.

So, not so great.

But... on the bright side, I stepped on the scale this morning and was down to 126. I guess my clothes have been feeling looser. The scale must be wrong though.

congratulations on the NSV= non scale victory...clothes fitting better.
You are well on your way to 120, you must be short!

I found out the lentils are lowish in carbs and really high in fiber and protein. Do you like them?
I also found out that black beans are good too.

Thanks bizi. I'm not too short. 5'4. I look small though. I'm told that by people all the time. My therapist told me I'm a slip of a girl. lol

I love lentils and black beans! Eat a lot of both.

I have officially bought 42 granola bars to bring with me to Europe! That's 7 packs of 6 bars. Also bought graham crackers and Oreos (not so healthy).

I have enough food to sustain me in case I have to eat food like hairy cow stomach... or blood soup. (No offense to anyone who likes that stuff, but that's totally NOT me! I refuse to eat those things!)

There's pizza there and McDonald's, but I don't like to eat fried foods so much.

I leave in 5 days and I'm stuck for 2 weeks

blue mcdonalds has grilled chicken patty that I like or eggs anytime of the day here in the states, don't know about there. Oatmeal is good for us. so mcdonalds can have some healthy choices. I hope they have them there. It doesn't have to be fried food.
