I was taking 8 colace with poor results hard painful BM's, constipation.

The senna may be habit forming....I don't care...I don't like the pain/bleeding nor the constipation.

Have you tried Amitiza? It's prescription but it was a life saver to me until I developed some food allergies that take away the issue. I was on it for many years. I still sometimes needed a boost of Senna, dulcosate or ducolax (and often combined it with Miralax depending on what meds I was taking) but I went regularly, especially after I learned how to use whatever I needed to supplement the Amitiza.

There's also Linzess but it gave me horrible diarrhea so no go for me with that one.

Thanks for your post beyond the rainbow.
Linzess costs $450 dollars per month. I am not eligible for the discount card.
glad that you found something that works for you.

If you can't get the discount card you often can qualify for patient assistance. It will give criteria about income, having Medicare or whatever but I've found that if you apply and include a note saying that I really need this med but it costs $450/month and I can't afford that and can I have an exemption then they will approve it and I get the med free. I've never been rejected and I have done this with several meds over the years.

It might be worth a shot.

Thank you rainbow,

We make too much money for assistance, hubby is a professor and I am a nurse. I just don't want to pay $450. when the senna stops working I may have to go with miralax. I have a lazy colon.

oh how I really messed up. I completely over drank at the super bowl gathering at friends house. 6 of us total. 4 people drove separately and were only a couple of miles from our house. So that was good.
I was drinking "gin and tonics", mostly gin. And I was drinking them fast. I blacked out and can't remember dinner or doing dishes or Drinking more, I thought I only had 3 drinks but found out today that I had several more than that. Every one was involved. I made a scene, was going to drive home. But kathryn stepped up to tell them that no I was unfit to drive home. so they forcefully got me out of the car. Jeff drove us home around 9pm. She drove my car home and paul came with his car to pick her up at our house.

We had steaks and zucchini. the steak looked good but I don't remember eating it and brought half home...
needless to say I got very sick to my stomach once we got home.

Today, I called kathryn and thanked her for helping me....
Gin is not my friend,
That is an understatement.
I won't be drinking again, anytime soon.
I wish I could just stop.
But I just can't....
sigh
bizi
Afraid to step on the scale after all of this eating and drinking.

Our air conditioner went out on us. We like to sleep at 70, the inside of the house is 74 and it is 70 outside. low tonight is 64 so it should cool the house by the morning. and then we are looking at colder raining weather the rest of the week. 30's for lows and 40's for highs.
rain/ice freezing at night we are not accustom to these colder temps.
here is the rain.

it is 27 and the sun is out melting the ice which is good.
there is a curfew but hubby is still at school while the ice continues to melt.
even though it is 27 degrees I canceled all of my clients for today, another storm is on its way so will need to think about tomorrow.

Even though I am not catholic I am giving up alcohol for lent.until easter.
that is 6 weeks. I have done this for several years before I can do it again and hopefully lose some of this weight. 191 this am.

I get my second shot today in about an hour.not looking forward to it.
The first shot my arm really hurt for 2 days. but I am a whimp about pain. so to others it would not be painful. Bizi's New 2021 thread!
oh well.

I am going to try for a dry march.
I told jeff so if he offers me gin and tonics
I will have to remind him that I am dry for march.
I drank every thing I had left (trulys) last night

and had 2 gin and tonics. I had had 2 bloody

marys at the diner for brunch.
I really need to get back on my diet. regained

most of the weight that I lost....heavy sigh.
It is so depressing.
Jeff never says a word....thankfully.
He is an enabler though.
we had katzu japenese ramen noodle place. the soup bowl was so good!
we even had sea weed salad that was delicious.
We drank water there and the bill was $32.
or something like that before tip $7.
so that is a bit pricey. If we could not have the
seaweed salad then the bowl cost $10 a piece.
much better.
I have the morning off. but should get ready I need to go to

the bank and clear up a bounced check, they say they can't find the

bank account, i ran it thru 2 times and the same each time.

Well I survived day 3, Jeff is on his 2nd gin and tonic.
I would like to join him but I won't.

Lunch today was a grilled veggie wrap with hummus, I had them add mayo and it made for a very messy wrap. Delicious! and a side of swiss chard steamed. It was also very good.
lots of water today. Bizi's New 2021 thread!
dinner was 4 oz of baked salmon and 1 cup of steamed brocolli and 1/4 cup of tabouli. and a chocolate truffle, just 1. that was the perfect ending to any dinner. Bizi's New 2021 thread!

going to get ready for an early bed time have to get up at 8am for a 9am all the way across town. I have been getting up so much at night to go pee. Makes me very tired.I try to drink less water after dinner but usually drink 10 oz with my night meds.I get up almost every 2hours Bizi's New 2021 thread!

Hope I can sleep tonight, going to try to drink less water with meds.

The salmon beth was delicious!
I am still having brain fog. I hope it is not permanent. Bizi's New 2021 thread!
lunch was an eggplant and ground beef casserole with a
very small serving of mashed sweet potatoes and 1 cup
of steamed swiss chard. It was very good.
Although I missed mousaka which is my favorite dish
they make, Sammie is from lebanon and used to own
a restaurant. He came out of retirement to start cooking
for sandras. On tuesdays he cooks his version of chicken schwarma
and makes excellent tabouli with quinoa instead of wheat,
but on thursday he will make some sort of other middle eastern dish.
Friday of lent will be all seafood choices I think.
Dinner hubby made chicken he cut into bite size pieces and sauteed them in coconut oil. then added a simmering sauce with spinach and lentils Dahl, then I had a cup for quinoa and veggie soup. Hubby had more tabouli.
Trying to drink all of my fluids earlier in the day because I
don't want to get up in the middle of the night like I have
been doing. last night it worked no getting up yeah,
I slept thru the night. Bizi's New 2021 thread!

I still feel bloated. The weight is not coming off like I had hoped.
lunch today was trout, with side of roasted butternut squash and swiss chard and smothered purple cabbage. It was delicious! Bizi's New 2021 thread!
Dinner we went to texas road house. I only smelled the rolls, no croutons on my salad.
I had the road kill steak burger with grilled mushrooms and onions and pepper jack cheese. with a side of brocoli.
It was delicious and I probably drank 40 oz of water while there.
I hope I won't be up all night peeing! Bizi's New 2021 thread!
I am tired think I will go to bed earlier, I am working tomorrow, only 3 clients so it should be an easy day.
I was afraid that I would be overly full from dinner, am not!
My bathroom behavior continues to be a struggle. Wish I would find something that works.
consistently.
sorry if TMI.
have a great day/nite
