Yes, I think nosiness was likely her main reason in contacting me. And since she knows my birthday is in May, that was a good excuse. The subject of her email was about my birthday, which is coming up soon.

The bamboo blanket was great. I was able to sleep in my jeans the way I like to. Ever since I was 6 I've slept in my jeans and it drives my mom nuts because she doesn't get how its comfortable. But pajama pants and even gym shorts are too uncomfortable for me. But with the hot and cold flashes the jeans were too much. Last night though they were fine. I was able to sleep with the bamboo blanket and my 10 pound weighted blanket and my fleece burrito blanket and I did not get overheated all night. Today I am still short of breath and light headed and I now have a slight sore throat but my chest pains have gone away and thats what was scaring me. I hope this isnt the start of covid. Its popping up like wildfire and it seems like everyone is going to get it eventually.

Today I had coffee at my house with an American woman who lives within walking-distance of my house. A lady we met here gave me her number. I confess I was delinquent about calling the fellow American. She actually called me while I was in the US, so had to cut the call short because of the steep phone charges. This morning I finally called her since we're now home in CZ. She came over with her maybe 5-year old daughter. She was pleasant and communicative, but the daughter was a bit out of control, unfortunately. She mentioned there is another American (a young au pair) who sometimes lives in our village area. I suggested we all go for a walk sometime soon. She is an artist/stay at home mom and her husband is the director of an international school downtown in the city. Perhaps even my husband and hers might meet up to maybe make friends. She said she's 40, while I'm 50. Her husband looks in his late 50s, while mine is in his early 60s. I don't see these age differences as significant. Only our lack of children as a possible disconnect.

I did go. My post should be up sometime today, a page or 2 back. They said things are ok. My EKG was normal besides a pulse of 108. One of my blood levels said I am at a higher risk for a blood clot but the chest xray didn't show one. They gave me fluids and pain meds and sent me home. I'm honestly wondering if I'm starting to get covid or something. I've been to a lot of doctors offices these past few days for various things and have not followed the best covid protocol at them.

I invited my sister to come over the weekend after Mustachio's surgery in the middle of June to celebrate her having had her surgery, so I'm going to buy us some pastries from a local Italian bakery and we're going to come back to my apartment to eat them and have some coffee. It will be a big relief once Mustachio's spay surgery is done. I'm also going to get catnip and treats for the cats so they can celebrate too.

Overall, that sounds really nice. I understand about the children (or child) thing. I have a friend who wants to visit me - the one I mentioned in my previous post to you. She's raising her grandchild, and while I am pretty sure the little girl is sweet and well-behaved, I can't be positive. And I can hardly believe I'm admitting this, me who always adored being around kids - but I'm concerned about my cats. What if my friend's granddaughter is the type of kid who opens and closes the front door a lot (a danger of letting a cat out), or picks up cats in a hurtful way...so on and so forth. I feel like a terrible, mean old lady, but the truth is that the situation could be very awkward. My friend was never one to set good boundaries for her children. Anyway, the friendship(s) sound like they have a decent potential for you and your husband. Let's hope so. Time will tell. __________________ |

I didn't take anything to sleep last night, tried to make it on my own. I actually fell asleep easily, but kept waking up. Felt like I never slept deeply. I got up at 5:30 to do Sidney's glucose test and insulin shot, but felt like hell. Headache and bleck stomach. So I ate some oatmeal, which helped, and took Tylenol PM. Nothing on a time schedule today, so if I sleep until noon it would be wonderful.
Well, that's my exciting update, haha. I hope everyone has a pleasant and peaceful Saturday __________________ |

Feeling much better today. Had both the shingles and covid booster Thursday. Yesterday just felt so blah and all my joints were inflamed. But last night I slept well and even dreamed. A weird dream to be sure but sort of cool.
Was a big bunch of people with little squares of plastic canvas and you had to put together a game from it with yarn. Everyone was milling around yet it was a race.. there were some people who were just sabotaging others. Stealing their yarn and undoing the finished pieces. The place were you had to collect the basics was a maze you had to solve. So interesting! Lots of warm sunshine today. Our first really spring like day. Up to 69 maybe! Mum said last night she’d like to go to the pharmacy to schedule her shot! Yeah. Cheese cake for everyone! too. __________________ Nammu …Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. I’m feeling more like myself. I do remember now why we stopped Wellbutrin - serious sleep disturbances and severe anxiety. We’ll have to work around that. I’m enjoying the roses. I’m about to cut more. They are medium sized roses, a lovely shade of pink. I don’t know the name. @*Beth* those rose bushes sound incredibly lovely.
M will be in Virginia for Mother’s Day. I’ll miss her. I missed her birthday Friday as well as she was traveling. I’m planning a quiet, relaxing day tomorrow. I’m working on a difficult, unpleasant, large, cumbersome project. It’s causing me some stress and anxiety. It’s almost bigger than my capabilities. I’m chipping away at it. I hope everybody has a peaceful weekend. Hugs to all. |

Why am I always so bummed out on Saturday? I want to go to the comic store today but my foot hurts and my wallet is lost. I slept till noon which most people would enjoy, but I feel way behind on all that nothing I had planned for today. Isn’t this supposed to be the fun, relaxing day of the week?

I'm so glad you've found the bamboo blanket helpful. I used to sleep in my jeans, when I was skinny. It felt really good to me. Safe. __________________ |
