Food is gross all of a sudden and I've lost 4.4 pounds since yesterday. I did eat some stuff but my body just does what it wants to do.
Today so far I had a couple pieces of wheat bread for breakfast

I took a rest day today. My body is exhausted and I'm quite sleepy too. I feel guilty about it even though I shouldn't. I don't think I've had a rest day in nearly 2 weeks, so it's about time.

I did 10K runner today, week 7 day 1. I actually can't believe I made it to week 7. Today the run had the 5 min. warmup and cooldown walks, a long run interval of 18 min., 3 min. walk, 3 min. run. I was surprised that I actually did the 18 min. run, and I'm not sure if it's because I took a rest day yesterday or what, but I felt like I could run a bit beyond the 18 min! During the 18 min. run I covered just over 1 mile straight, probably around 1.25 mi. After the cooldown walk, I was able to run a 0.5 interval nearly straight (stopped briefly for a drink of water at the park water fountain) and then later it started raining, and I ran 1 mile straight again to get home out of the rain. So overall I ran around 2.5 mi, maybe a bit more! And I did about 1.5 mi walking, so I covered around 4 mi today if my math is straight (math never was my best subject).
Today's run was a bit more challenging too b/c it had just stopped raining when I went, so the roads were wet and a bit slick. Then of course, I ran in rain to get home. I do hope it won't be raining tomorrow morning.

I lost another 1.2 pounds since yesterday. So far today I had a can of Pepsi, 12 oz of mocha Starbucks coffee with cold foam and 2 pieces of whole wheat bread. I'm making some Palmini pasta for lunch. Currently I'm at 510 calories without the pasta.
I know they say its like 80% diet. I'm going to add in working out soon.

I didn't exercise today, I had a rest day after three days in a row of exercise. I'm gonna get back to it tomorrow. I might do some yoga tonight but that's about it for today. Trying to not overwhelm myself.

First run in a week and it was okay, I concentrated on my foot strike and form and had a nice little rhythm going. Week 8 of couch to 5k has lasted a very long time, but next run will be the beginning of the final week 9 and 30 mins.

Congrats on your run and nearly completely couch to 5K. What an awesome accomplishment! You are a great inspiration to me ![]() This morning, I walked and jogged a distance of around 5 miles. At one point, I was able to jog nearly 2 miles, and then I jogged a 0.5 mile stretch later, so 2.5 mi altogether running. If I can keep that distance a long run, I won't be too far from completing 5K which is 3.1 mi, at which point I may stop my 10K runner and keep my distance 5K.

I got some more whole grain wheat bread and another couple boxes of Special K cereal. I also got some Amys organic burritos and a vegetable lasagna and some salads.
I'm trying to lose weight but I'm also trying to heal my ulcers. I do notice 2.5 bottles of water feels a lot better on my stomach then 5 cans of zero sugar Dr. Pepper. I'm at 855 calories so far. Yesterday I had 1,540 but my sodium was kinda high. Since I stopped the dramamine I haven't had any M&M cravings.

Did the first of the last week of 30 mins runs this morning and switched my route to allow the extra distance. I found it harder today and maybe because I ran just yesterday, but felt a bit more plodding, I just slowed it down. My new route also had a second bank in it which I felt, but it was nice to run along the sea front which I haven’t done in ages. Time for breakfast now.

It's wonderful that you made it to the last week of your program! Congratulations! Running along the seafront sounds great! I could do it here, but it's about a 15 min. drive to the small beach we have here. It's always harder to run 2 days in a row. I like changing up my route now and then just to see different areas of the neighborhood. It would be nice if I had banks to run, but the land here is very flat. I did 10K runner today. There are no more intervals, just the 5 min. warmup & cooldown walks and then a 20 min. run. I must have been slow today b/c the program gave me an extra optimized run of 20 min. to make the next day easier (or so it says). During the program, I ran 1.5 miles straight and walked some and then ran another 1.5 miles almost straight with a brief stop at the park water fountain. I walked the rest of the way home, so I ran 3 miles total today ![]() I have to admit though, I cannot wait for cooler weather. OMG, it is so warm and humid even first thing in the morning. The low when I run is around 80 degrees F and today the humidity was 89% according to the weather website. I wish we lived in the Los Angelos area, where H is from. They get a few super hot summer days but the humidity is low and the nights always cool off into the 60s. I've run outside there when we've had visits with my inlaws and the weather there is so nice. I'm not really losing weight with all this running, but I am toning up a lot, which was my goal when I started this program. Biceps, legs, abs ![]() There are very high chances of rain in the next few days, so I may be forced to take a running break.

I've had about 630 calories so far in a couple Starbucks drink. I might just have cereal for dinner. I'm not too hungry today.

I did my optimized 7 week 10K runner today. It was a repeat of the last one - 5 min warmup & cooldown walks with a 20 min. run. I didn't struggle as much during the run as I thought I would especially considering I was doing the run 3 days in a row. I'm slow though and covered just over 1.5 mi in 20 min., well maybe a little closer to 1.75 mi. Afterwards, I jogged/walked home; I jogged a total of around 1.5 mi but it was all broken up. Still, that's 3 mi running, close to 5K, just not consecutively. My next run has a total of 25 min. running though it has an interval 3 min. walk in there.

I got a brown sugar apple iced tea from Starbucks that I brought home then I went to Walgreens and I needed to eat asap at least thats what my mom told me so I stopped at Dunkins for some loaded hashbrowns. Before that I had
some Special K. Its been ok

I'm going to try and exercise. I haven't gained weight but i feel i've expanded and deteriorated due to all the inactivity.
I did light strength training today as i've heard that is better for weight-loss than cardio -- at least for those starting out at a high weight. I'm relatively new to strength training. My sister had good results with it. We have similar body-types so i hope i will respond as well as she did. I did ten squats, ten calf raises, five push-ups against the counter, three planks, and stretching. My quads are really weak, they feel "trembly" already. I could feel my abs engaging during my planks -- i was really pleased as i have a big belly. Well, it is a start. It's nice to read of those of you doing running programs. I can't run at all. ![]() |

I threw out all my 'naughty' food including pouring out the rest of my pop. I'm going to try and diet! Excited! Here's to feeling better! Water will save me! And ginger tea! I like it better than camomile even.

Four hours without any pop or food. Just cold water. Don't feel hungry. It's a good time of year to start a diet with tomorrow being September first. I tried on the last pair of jeans i wore ages ago. They still fit, so i haven't expanded, after all. I just FEEL fat.
I can't weigh myself because i have cushion flooring and get a different reading depending on where i place my scale. I don't have room to leave it out in the same place. I can weigh consistently in the stairwell as it is concrete but i can't do that first thing in the morning naked, which is the only accurate way to do it. So i guess i won't be weighing myself this diet. And when i use the word 'diet' i DO understand that it's a lifestyle change, so no lectures about that. |
