Well I had a sore throat over the weekend and I thought it might’ve just been the singing I did on my wild night out, but nope I’m definitely succumbing to my first cold of the season, so I think it’s wise to ditch the outdoor running a while.
Bluebird that’s great you’ve ditched the sugar, I find if I go cold Turkey it’s agony at first but after a week or so I don’t crave it anymore. |

I did pilates this morning, trying to alternate it with power walking. For beginners trying pilates, I highly recomment the Youtube series "Move with Nicole" just google it and to be safe I add beginnger pilates to the search as I am a little chicken to move to intermediate level. Her Youtube feeds are free and she has a knack of making the time pass quickly. She also does not reguire equipment in most of them other than a mat, but if you don't have a mat, I do fine lying on carpet doing the exercises. I want to try walking again tomorrow, if I have enough time; I have to bring my latest rescue stray cat to the vet at 7:45 AM for his neuter & shots.
Today, I finally got a couple x-rays done on the foot I slammed into the door that I really feel things aren't exactly normal in there. It's be great if I'm just paranoid. However, I have this memory of my paternal grandmother who has since passed away. She did something to hurt one or two of her toes in her 30s, could have had it looked at and fixed then but didn't and in her 60s and 70s getting an operation on it was too risky with her other health problems (high blood pressure, heart palpitations, diabetes) that operation wasn't feasible and as she got older it bothered her more and more. She always told me if I had something like that happen to me, I needed to get it looked at when I was young enough and in good health enough to fix it if that was what was needed. A few weeks late, but better to take her advise now than risk issues from it in the future when it's too late to help. My hope is that I'm just being paranoid about it, and nothing will show up. I should have the results in a few days.

Hoping the results will be okay blueberry.
Ah well, did a covid test and that explains it, positive three years after the last time. Feeling lousy hoping I’ll shake it off asap. |

My x-ray showed a fracture healing, no action needed yet unless the pain persists...
@Discombobulated - SO sorry about the COVID! I have never had it, believe it or not! My H & daughter did and they were abosulately miserable, hacking coughs all over and fever. Take care of yourself. I hope you rebound quickly. I took a 3.5 mile power walk this morning, good pace would have finished 4 mile in under 60 min which is good for my age. I had to stop early b/c I had to get my newest rescue stray cat, Sugarberry, into the vet at 7:45 AM this morning for a neuter, shots, microchip, god knows what else, some blood test or something, as usual running an absolute fortune but he is the most gentle cat even if the vet suspects he was feral at thetime we rescued him. No fighting with our other cats indoors. I just hope his procedure goes well today, a little nervous about it.

I actually jogged this morning for 3 miles, granted at a slow rate of speed. I am curious to see how I will feel tomorrow. I power walked 1 mile back to my house. I stopped briefly at the park to do a couple ab machines and arm machines, but I did not have a lot of time there because I had an early dentist appt. this morning. Not feeling too bad this afternoon, but the morning will tell.

How are you doing today Blueberry? Hoping you’re okay after that jog, that’s amazing you managed 3 miles.
I think I might be finally shaking off this covid, just in time for work tomorrow! Although the snow, ice and now storm Burt we’re having this week meant I wouldn’t have ran outdoors anyhow. |

I took a 4.5 mile power walk this morning. Was actually cold enough I could wear long sleeves, jogging pants, and even gloves. Well, most people probably wouldn't need gloves, but I have Raynaud's phenonmen in my fingers. Heat and especially the cold really makes it flare up. I am very lucky I don't live in an area of the world where there is really an actual winter!

I did about 90 crunches on my ab roller and I used my treadmill too. I'm kinda achy but I think I'm getting used to things.

Today was a pilates day. I will probably do pilates again tomorrow or a 30 min. walk as I have an 8 AM pdoc appt. Gotta exercise out here early if I want to go for a walk; the cool weather of yesterday is gone today! The overnight low is around 80F AGAIN and the wind is south/southwest.

Took a LONG power walk this morning, about 5 miles. Afraid I am heading into a mixed episode. Those are always fun (NOT). Did the weight tension machines at the park. I may have to stick to power walking for the time being as it's less destructive on my body than running. May try a run later this week, if it cools off. 80F this morning, and I think I was a bit dehydrated and may have overheated some; I know the quetiapine I take comes with a warning about intaking adequate fluids and avoiding overheating.
Oh, the holidays stress me out so much. Squarepeg - Are you doing any better? With that much fluid loss, you should look into finding an urgent care place that will give you an IV to replace the liquids or an ER if you don't have an urgent care around that does the IV rehydration.

I did 40 push ups today. I had planned on doing more. I ate okish. Mainly just a couple protein shakes and 3 cookies. But it was all I could deal with. I had 2 pieces of cheese too. I'm at 1050 calories. My carbs, protein, and sodium are good.

I might get on the treadmill today. I'm also taking a walk to the library later. I need to get some anxiety out

I'm not very hungry today. I've only had about 800 calories. I can't figure out what to eat. I'm lazy. My jacket was pretty loose today. My working out is going good.

I took a long power walk this morning, around 5 miles. Did a pretty good pace; I know I finished 4 miles in under 60 min. I don't get the runner's high from power walking, but I am still nursing a sore quad from my last run. Took the day off from the park weight/ab machines. I may dig out my dumbells and do some arm exercises later. We'll see. I'm pretty depressed lately (or maybe mixed bipolar?) so my motivation is up in the air at the moment.

Yes, today, I broke my vegetarian diet for the first time in ten days. Thanks so much for asking. BTW, we don't go to ER except for a cardiac event, stroke, uncontrolled bleeding or head trauma.

Over here we have two types of emergency medical access, one is a simple minor injury clinic that you can go to with fractures, sprains, that sort of thing. The other is an emergency room at a bigger hospital which is more complex cases. It mostly seems to work well (although I’ve seen people with minor injury at the higher level hospital).
I got a run for first time in a couple of weeks this morning, it was surprisingly okay, not too tired, although it was cold outside. |

I've resumed the pushups and crunches.
We do have urgent care, too. But I doubt they'd do an IV. And anyway, I had no way to get there.
