I did OK with week 4 day 1. Yeah, I might stop when I hit 5K, only this program has better coaching than my knockoff couch 2 5K. I was actually pleasantly surprised that I could do week 4 day 1. Humidity was a killer though at 88% according to the weather website. However, the day 2 of week 4 has 2x5 min. runs & 2x3 min runs, and I'm a little anxious about whether I can manage the 5 min. runs. Time will tell.

Today, I walked and jogged without the 10K runner. In some places, I jogged longer than I thought I could, which probably means I won't do day 2 of the week until Tuesday. I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning. Covered 4 miles today and feel pretty good afterwards. I hope I won't be regretting this tomorrow!

Taking a rest day today. I feel a bit guilty about not exercising, but my body is exhausted. I need some recovery time.

I did 10K runner. I' did week 4, day 2. I think the creeping up pace is slower than your couch 2 5K @Discombobulated.

Today I had 2x3 min. runs which afterwards had 2x2 min walks, and 2x5min. runs with 3 min. walks after each, plus the 5 min. warmup & cool down. The 5 min. runs were a bit of a challenge, but I did them I walked home from there, covering a total of 4 miles including the 10K runner.

My eating has been weird. I think it might be med related. I'm not in the mood for legit meals. Just packaged salads, crackers and M&Ms mainly.

I went up on my lamictal then a couple days ago I started a different kind of probiotic and a couple different kinds of antacids.

I haven't even had any zero sugar soda today. Which is good I guess.

Well done Blueberry! Sounds like you’re making good solid progress. Yes it’s definitely a different schedule to mine, you’re getting more running time generally even if shorter run bursts.

I’m on week 7 now, I should’ve run on Monday but I was so tired after work then volunteering and it was warm and muggy so I decided to have a cup of tea and a biscuit instead lol.

I ran this morning first thing, it’s cool and windy today, so ideal conditions. The intervals are over now so it’s all solid running, 25 minutes today, steady and felt okay - I think I find stopping and starting harder. I definitely handled the hill easier today which is progress!

Happy exercising all!

Not doing much exercising because I've been working so much, but I plan on getting back on it soon!!

Still trying out new medication to see if my thyroid levels come back to normal before I attempt weight loss again because I've been working so hard, and the scale just isn't moving and my doctor isn't even surprised : (

I was 214 today. I mostly just snacked. I did eat a salad though for lunch. Dinner was a Greek yogurt and some Reeses Pieces.

Busy day yesterday, I was very active with an adapted indoor games session for seniors that I volunteer with which has me up and down and back and forth., I think I felt more energetic than I had done so wonder if I’m seeing improved fitness, certainly my legs feel stronger.

Went to running group last night even though it was rainy, I think the beginners group isn’t pushing me but the other women there are nice so it’s social and we’ve only got 2 more weeks to go.

@Discombobulated
How long/far do you run with your running group?

@Lady Shadow
You'll get back to exercising. I hope your new dosage of thyroid medication helps!

I did 10K runner today after having 2 rest days. I did week 4, day 3. It was 2x3 min runs, 2x5 min runs with 2 min of walking between each run interval, and the 5 min. warmup and cooldown. Afterwards, it gave me a halfway to 5K badge...argh, only halfway! It definitely builds up to longer runs slower than your program, @Discombobulated. I looked ahead and the longest run time on the the first day of 5 weeks is 6 min.

I walked the rest of the way home, with a little jogging here and there covering a total of 4 miles again today. I took a slightly different route, going to the neigborhood park which is nice b/c it has a water fountain. I was dying in the heat & humidity even though I started early, just after 6 AM.

We focus on different aspects each session @Blueberrybook , one session was speed intervals with walks between, and last night we did a couple of inclines. Last night we covered 2.5km.

I don’t know how you cope with the heat and humidity, it sounds tough, hoping you’ll enjoy autumn running more.

@Discombobulated
I really can't wait for autumn. Usually we don't get any cooler weather until the very end of September, so I've got another month & a half at least of this awful running weather!

Running uphill would be quite the challenge for me. Here, it's really not possible unless I had a treadmill to put on an incline, which I don't; the land here is flat, flat, flat with no hills in sight.

Today I did 10K runner again. I can't believe I've made it to week 5, day 1. It was 5 min warmup walk, 5 min run, 3 min walk, 6 min run 3 min walk, 5 min run, 5 min cooldown. The 6 min run was challenging, but I did it. On the way home, I walked some and jogged some for a total of 4 mile. My next long run interval is 8 min. which I hope I can accomplish, being that the 6 min. run was a challenge for me!

I ate pretty good today. I ate some cheese and crackers and a salad. I had a bagel which had a lot of calories and a coffee. But overall it was good. I'm at 1,535 calories.

I saw my aunt and my uncle yesterday. The last time I saw them I was about 198. But they were just happy to see me.

Why the eff does the scale say 221? A few days ago it was 214. I literally can't eat over 1400 calories or I'll gain massivly very quickly.

I took a walk/jog today, almost 4.25 miles. At one point, I thought I had jogged 0.5 miles straight and it turned out to be 1 mile straight jogging! Not fast but still. That was way more than I thought I could run. I'll probably be exhausted tomorrow though so I'm not sure if I can manage the next 10K runner or have to wait until Wednesday for it.

@Discombobulated
Are you now able to run 5K straight in your program?

That’s great progress - I bet that feels good!

Oh no, no where near 5k in 25 minutes, actually the program takes you to 30 minutes running, in my case that won’t be 5k, faster days are behind me now.

I was 217.6 today. A lot better then yesterday. I've had a couple rice cakes and a Chobani yogurt for breakfast. I don't know about the rest of the day.

Even though I was pretty tired to start, I did 10K runner again today. Luckily, after the 5 min. warmup walk, I was feeling more energized. Today it was a 5 min run, 3 min. walk, 8 min run, 3 min walk, 5 min run, 5 min cooldown walk. I managed the 8 min. run okay Then I walked and jogged some home for a total of 4.3 miles.

That’s awesome Blueberry! It shows how your fitness is gradually building with sticking to the program, you’ll get to your distance targets before you know it. I actually find blocks of running easier than the stop start of the run/walks.

Well I did have to drop some runs and I’ve got a little behind on the program but got my last 25 minutes run of week 7 done this morning, once I got into the rhythm I was okay. 2 more weeks left but it might take me a bit longer.

Thanks for the encouragement @Discombobulated. Hopefully I can keep it up. Not long until I get to a long 10 min. run now. Today, though I only power walked; I hope to do the next day of 10K runner tomorrow.

I can't imagine myself running 25 min. straight! Don't worry about dropping some runs; sometimes life happens & you get to busy or your body just needs a break. I plan to go as far in the program as I can, but I don't think I will ever make it to 10K. If I make it to 5K, that might be my stopping point. We'll see. I feel the program already gives you a good workout at the point I'm currently at.

I did week 5 day 3 on 10K runner. Today there were only 2 interval runs after the 5 min. warmup walk, 8 min run, 5 min walk, 8 min. run 5 min cooldown walk so 16 total min. running just longer intervals. But I looked ahead at week 6 and there are 10 min run intervals and at the end of the week a 15 min. run, OMG, I'm not sure I can do that!

Today I went a bit farther for a total of 4.93 miles b/c there is now construction at the end of my road, the road is all torn up so I had to start out going the opposite direction and avoiding that area of road which made my overall route longer. Still, should I miraculously make it to 10K that is 6.2 miles, and I doubt I can do that!

Today I was fine. I had about 1,114 calories, 168 carbs, and 48 grams of protein.

I'm not too hungry today. I've stopped some stuff and started some stuff recently. Idk if its making a difference or not.

Thanks blueberry, I’m pretty relaxed dropping runs these days - I used to get intense about it. All the same I wanted to get 3 runs in but they ended up 3 days in a row which isn’t ideal, I definitely felt a bit tired running this morning after beginners running group last night (although that was pretty easy tbh).

You will probably surprise yourself with the 15 minutes run, you’ve already run 16 with a small break in, it’s not all that different. Although as you say the good thing about these programs is that they are a pretty good work out in themselves.

I’ve got a couple more 28 minutes runs then I’m onto 30 minutes and the final week already.

I've done well so far today. I've had 771 calories, 108 carbs, and 18 grams of protein. I like the triple zero Oikos Greek yogurts that have 90 calories and 15 grams of protein. I also just like oatmilk in general comapred to cream in my coffee. I'm trying. I have a lot of work to do.

I'm still 217 and I'm getting harped on now a bit about my weight. By my mom and my endocronolgist mainly. Even my therapist told me working out wouldn't be a bad thing for me to do.

I walked and jogged this morning. There was one point where I was able to jog a mile. I went 4.5 miles total today. Not sure if I'll do 10K runner tomorrow or wait until Sunday. I'll be on week 6,.

@Discombobulated
Congrats on nearing the end of your program! I think my program goes 14 weeks, but I may stop at 7 weeks. I'm not as young as I used to be. We'll see how it goes.
