Pretzels are still junk food.

ETA - The new buzzword is that "ultra-processed" food is what is bad for you. So like, how do pretzels grow in the wild?

Sorry. I'm really not trying to. I see so many doctors and I am getting mulitple answers and suggestions. Its hard to know what to do what to.

But I do know the 20 carb diet isnt good. I don't even know how to do that

Pretzels just help my meds absorb and work better. Especially my Geodon.

A half-slice of Ezekiel toast would give you actual nutrients that your body could use, like protein and fiber, instead of simple carbs just turning to sugar and then to fat. Or the Messermacher breads. Or how about a piece of cheese? Or a bowl of puffed rice?

Just saying, there are alternatives to what they call the SAD - Standard American Diet. Plus i hate crackers and pretzels! I dont mind a Cheez-its once in a blue moon, but...

Sorry! We never had crackers in the house when i was growing up. Not an italian thing, i guess. I REALLY hate those skinny hard breadsticks!
Thanks for this!

Awesome run @Discombobulated! You'll kill it in the half-marathon!

How are you doing @Tart Cherry Jam?

Today I did a mostly 3.5 mi jog...not by choice though! It started out a walk jog but then it started raining a bit, and I was thinking, oh, if I can just get 3 miles in...! By the 1 mile mark I was jogging the entire way, the rain was picking up, thunder & lightning starting up and getting downright scary. It was 3.5 mi total when I made it back home, and I sprinted the last 1/4 mi because it was horrible out. I will no doubt be sore from these antics tomorrow, though I am impressed that I can still jog a bit of distance given enough motivation...!

@Crazy Hitch - Are you continuing to exercise? Exercise really does make a big difference. And even if you don't lose weight with exercise, you definitely firm up and look like you weigh less. My mother has been obese my entire life and recently starting walking 30 minutes daily. The last time I saw her, I asked her if she'd lost weight because it looked like she had lost maybe 25 lb. She said no, just that she's walking daily now. It makes a big difference!

I do occasional walking. Not enough if it's not making me lose weight though.

I just got back from a very wet short recovery run, it was drizzling when I went out but proper heavy downpour half way through. I quite like running in summer rain but unfortunately my AirPods didn’t and I’m hoping drying them out will get them working again. Maybe I need to look at a waterproof sporty type.

Oh Mountaindewed btw I love crackers, yes they are technically highly processed, but I’ve never worried about the odd breadstick. I guess if it’s a concern though, how about oatcakes? They’re lower Glycemic index I think. I love oatcakes and a bit of cheddar. As goes Highly processed food I’ve read nutritionists say if we aim for 80:20 ratio non processed to more processed that’s good.

I did a walk/jog this morning of 6.25 mi. I wanted to go a bit farther and probably could have if I'd pushed it, but the heat and humidity and sun were absolutely brutal (at 7:15 AM!), so I called it a day. For once, I listened to my brain and not my stupid compulsiveness when it comes to exercise. In retrospect, 6 mi is still a pretty good distance and workout, definitely I know I get the 10,000 steps/day from back when I wore my FitBit daily.

I had about 800 calories and 130 carbs. Not that I kept much of any of it in. Its still early but I'm thinking of just skipping dinner. I have my bag of Snyders cheese sandwhich pretzels. But I've also been really exhausted all day too. So idk.

My therapist said my pdocs advice of 20 carbs a day was irresponsible and he'll probably gain his weight back. She said my goals of 1500 calories a day, burning 500 calories, 150 carbs, and 80 grams of protein is a lot more reasonable.

I'm sorry @Crazy Hitch that your GP is so judgy. Especially since you work in a difficult job you find extremely stressful. Life is hard enough without adding losing exactly X kg to the mix in a given timeframe.

It’s better you choose an exercise routine that works for you rather than something rigid and imposed. I personally do not do formal exercise every day, it wouldn’t work for me.

How do you feel about Zumba or aerobics? Or just dancing around to music in the house? Something a bit more fun? As and when you feel like it?

I could do dancing around to music. My 6 year old would love that!

I had 2 protein shakes for breakfast. 12 carbs and 60 grams of protein total. I don't have anything planned out today except maybe some little bags of popcorn.

I walk a lot on city streets during my trip. I left the Oura ring at home, so I do not know my step count, but I know my feet are achy and I will need to run some Voltaren in tonight.
