Good God...2 feet in Dallas?! That's not common is it? My vague memories of that eighties evening soap made it look like a sunny wonderland. Pool lounging, country clubbin'...I don't think they even filmed in winter...not likely. I know parts of Texas get some decent cold though. Have a merciful winter the lot of ya! By the way your dogs probably loved that!

Very unusual... Four or five inches is rare enough. When it's cold and wet, it's usually ice.

where did the sun go its night in the middle of the day

i am going to try to have a productive day. so, i am turning off the computer and trying to get some chores done. i will not go to mass today but will try to do some housework including cleaning, ironing, grocery shopping, banking and paperwork. it's a lot more complicated than it sounds. i hope i can get some things done.

Just trying to make the best of today, cant really get motivated. So hard looking at life from behind a window without the courage or want to go outside. On a side note, cute kitty Nick ((((hug)))

I feel like I am about to explode.

All of this week and for the last few weeks it seems that everything I have done or attempted to do has ended in loss, failure, confusion, misunderstanding, rejection, that I have succeeded in absolutely nothing. Although I haven't SI since I was hospitalized in March, I am definitely feeling like I deserve some punishment now, because this is inexcusable.

Last week I attempt to read some material on German philosophy, and I couldn't for the life of me understand that. Read another book on political philosophy, and I couldn't understand that either, even with all the annotations. Now, I have spent the last one and a half hours on three pages of the prologue on a book about American politics, and, surprise, my supposedly brilliant mind can't comprehend that either.

Also last week, I lost horribly in a chess match in the city, which was humiliating and reflects my failure at becoming a descent chess player after 9 years of teaching it to myself. People don't understand what it is like to lose at an intellectual game that is about memorization and out-smarting someone else.

This week a photo of mine was nominated in a contest for Canadian photographers, and, like the chess match, I lost that too.

And don't start me on the awkward and ultimately unsuccessful attempts over the last few weeks to socialize with women. What is the purpose in discussing this anymore? Women don't like me, they never have, they won't in the future, and there is nothing I can do about that.

Losses are tough... it's dealing with them afterward that means the most. No pep talk here... just pointing out that a loss is a loss...one loss.

Mr V...that's negative thinking. More than that, it's wrong thinking. You haven't met all the women that you will mean. And seriously... all it takes is one woman. She is out there. I can say that with a lot of confidence.

I hate who I am.
So do I at the moment so I can't offer much encouragement... lets hope we won't hate who we are tomorrow.

Sorry things kind of suck right now Mr V. Don't be mean to yourself, there's plenty of other people out there that love to do that sort of thing. Do you feel like you have to be the best at everything you try? Does the philosophy interest you? I think some of it is a bunch of BS anyway so why beat yourself up? I hope you will feel better soon. There are a lot of really mean, conceited, self centered women out there too so don't be sure it's your fault.

Mr. V.....Kudos to educating yourself, while you think you may not understand everything you have read I would imagine you understand it more than someone that has not read a thing about it.
